  1. It does appear that when using a Footswitch to change Snapshots, the Footswitch can have only one setting, not be changed per Snapshot. I don't know if that's by plan (could be a logic thing) or a bug.
  2. No such problem here, and can't imagine how to force it to do that. Contact support. The "E" just means that the preset has been edited. If you SAVE it saves the changes and goes away.
  3. Run the XLR Outs to the FRFR112s. Run the 5150 in 4cm. Have separate Presets for each configuration, or put the Helix amp and the FX Loop on a single footswitch, saved with one ON and one OFF. Put an A/B Split right before the Output Block with the Panning assigned to the same Footswitch as the amp and FX Loop and two Output Blocks, one set to 1/4" and the other set to XLR. When you want to use the 5150 the Helix Amp is OFF, the FX Loop is ON and the A/B Split is panned to the 1/4" Out Block. When you want the FRFR the Helix Amp is ON, the S/R is OFF and the A/B Block is panned to the XLR Out Block. That path contains the Cab/IR. Attached is a sample preset showing how it's done. 4. Wow! Never would have guessed that! VERY strange! BUT I wouldn't rule out hants.... I set up a simple preset - nothing but Snapshot 1 IC 1 set to send a PC#, no renaming. It sent on Preset load, did NOT send on any other Snapshot or on reselecting Snapshot 1. In fact, no matter what I tried, I couldn't replicate your problem. Corrupted preset or hants or......?
  5. There's nothing wrong with your interface. You only THINK you've tried EVERYTHING - in a few days? Not likely. Watch Jason Sadites' videos on getting good tone. Rhett Shul is another. There are many. If, after watching videos by pros who know how to get good tones out of Helix/Native, it still doesn't work for you. get some other very expensive modeler that many A/B challenges have proven is indistinguishable from Helix when properly dialed in. MAYBE you'll like it better. Or maybe you're just an analog kind of guy/gal. Good Luck!

    HELIX SNAPSHOTS

You mean, can you have 128 snapshots of a single preset located in 64 banks across 8 setlists? Yes, actually. You could duplicate a single Preset 128 times in a single Setlist. Since each preset can have 8 Snapshots, that's 1024 Snapshots of a single preset. If you did that in all 8 setlists that's 8192 Snapshots of the same preset. If the original preset used only one Path (processor), you could have True Spillover across 1024 presets. IOW - EACH PRESET can have 8 SNAPSHOTS, but you could potentially have one GIANT Preset composed of 1024 individual and identical Presets with True Spillover between them and each with 8 Snapshots for a virtual preset with 8192 Snapshots. AND with basic MIDI skills and enough Controllers (or a single Helix Floor), you could call any one of those snapshots with a single footswitch press! This would be possible because the Helix Floor itself has 1024 Presets each capable of calling any Snapshot on your Rack from one of the 8 available Instant Commands configurable in the Command Center. If you had another controller it could call any specific Preset from any Bank on the Helix Floor. Of course, most of the above is just craziness. The bottom line is, again, ONE Preset can have 8 Snapshots. But you could have 8192 Snapshots of that preset.

    HELIX SNAPSHOTS

I'm not sure how to make that more clear. Snapshots are part of Presets. Presets are arranged in "Banks". Banks in Helix speak are a convenient way to display presets on the Footswitches, in groups of 4 (single row) or 8 (double row). Banks in the traditional sense are called "Setlists" and are composed of 128 Presets. EACH PRESET CAN HAVE 8 SNAPHOTS.

    Helix to PC

Something us long-time Windows users are painfully aware of! Speaking of which, the ancient i5 laptop that I'm typing this on hasn't been rebuilt since Win10 came out.....I wonder if that has anything to do with why Amplitube 5 Standalone won't pass audio on THIS machine, but runs fine on my much newer i7.....or it could be the Saturn Jupiter conjunction...... Merry Christmas!
  10. I finally had a chance to listen to your preset. When Send 3 is activated there's a difference in the way it sounds, but the only difference I hear is a change in the panning. It seems to be more to the right. You may be perceiving that as harshness. As DunedinDragon pointed out, we all have different ears. I went backwards through the blocks before Send 3, deleting one at a time. Nothing made a difference until I deleted the Reverb Block (Legacy Hall). I replaced it with a MONO Reverb (Ganymede) with MOD OFF and Delay down. No problem. I tried a couple of different Stereo vs Mono reverbs with the same result. The problem only affects Stereo Reverbs. I then created a totally simple preset with the US Double Vib/Cab on Path A and a Stereo reverb on path B before a Send 3 Block. Same problem. I tried different Send Blocks. Same. What does it mean? I have no clue, and I haven't time to do extensive research. Since the Send is one-way (no return) the DA conversion shouldn't matter and at any rate wouldn't explain why it only affects Stereo Reverbs (it may affect other stereo stuff, but that's all I have time to test). Unless somebody can run with what I've shown and come up with an explanation, I'd open a ticket with support. You MAY have discovered a genuine bug! This is easy to duplicate - use the simplest chain Amp/Cab>Stereo Reverb>Send - so that the poor overworked support guys can't possibly be confused by unnecessary complexity. And PLEASE - come back and tell us what support makes of this. It's a very interesting anomaly Merry Christmas!

You can change up to 64 parameters of every Block in your signal chain using Snapshots. Without audio gaps. With v3.0 you can even change presets without an audio gap. It does, however, eat up an entire processor to do so, which limits the complexity of the signal chain you can use in the other processor. I believe that this is covered in the new 3.0 manual.

    Helix to PC

Believe it or not, not everybody knows everything about everything. Or plays video games. Logitech also makes hardware including some kind of hub, though not a standard USB hub. In fact, I have a wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse, and have lived with them for many years without knowledge of or need for that SW. And you might be surprised (or not) how many people use Helix without RTM and wonder why they have problems plugged into a physical hub. Anyhow, glad you got it working, and Merry Christmas!
  14. I assume that you're using an Instant Command to call the Preset. Set a second IC to send CC#69 with a Value of 0 (Snapshot 1), 1 (snapshot 2) or 2 (Snapshot 3).
  15. I'm guessing that the OEM footswitch has some sort of capacitor attached to the switch that prevents the POP. That's how Stompbox mfrs deal with it.

FWIW - I'm pretty sure it says in the manual NOT to connect to a Hub. Some people have no problems with that. You're NOT one of the lucky ones! :-) Merry Christmas!

    HELIX SNAPSHOTS

A Snapshot is a different variation (different parameter settings and active/inactive blocks) of an existing Preset. Each Preset can have up to 8 Snapshots. To be clear, the Snapshot uses all of the same Blocks as the Preset, but the ON/OFF state of the Blocks and the settings within each Block can be different. A "Bank" is a convenient way to look at the Presets that appear on the footswitches in Preset Mode. If you go into Global Settings>Preferences and change Preset Numbering to 000-128, you'll see that they appear with the MIDI program numbers instead of "Bank" numbers. What most devices consider "Banks" are called SETLISTS" in Helix - 8 Banks of 128 Presets.
  18. Also - in Global>Preferences>Snapshot Edits if you set it to RECALL, then after you edit all of your Snapshots you save the preset once. If you set it to DISCARD then you need to save the preset after editing EACH snapshot. When set to RECALL, when playing, any change to a preset will remain until you change presets. When set to DISCARD, the changes will be lost when you change Snapshots. IOW - when EDITING, set Snapshot Edits to RECALL and save ONCE, or set to DISCARD and save before editing the next Snapshot.
  19. MIDI controllers. Morningstar MC6 is small and popular.
  20. I bought the Powercab second hand, and the cable came with it. The mfr says "Use this cable", and I have the cable, so..... There's so many people posting here and elsewhere "I did such and such using this or that instead of what I know I should use, and it was working, and now weird stuff is happening! Help me!" The answer is "Use the right thing!" And the result is "Hey, that worked!" Yes, I read somewhere that someone used an XLR cable with good results. As I recall, he'd plugged it into a microphone connected to the Helix mic input and thought he was using the L6 link. Sometimes I fear for the future of Humankind.
  21. For the benefit of others who might have this problem, what WAS the problem?
  22. Contact your sales rep at Sweetwater. Explain your circumstances. If it's still in their 2 year warranty period, request a replacement. I would think that your sales rep at Sweetwater might rather replace the unit than have to explain to L6 (a not insignificant vendor) why they can't do a simple job like repair a USB port! If that doesn't work, contact Line6 Customer Support. Send them copies of whatever Sweetwater sent you when they did the job. Since (if) Sweetwater blew the repair, L6 may just send you a replacement unit if you explain your dire circumstances. Especially if it's still in their 1 year warranty period. WHATEVER YOU DECIDE, DO NOT ATTEMPT THE REPAIR YOURSELF unless you're willing to throw the unit away if you blow it.
  23. From the Sky 5000 User Manual: The Neo pedal can accept MIDI over USB from a computer or mobile device, or from a MIDI controller using a 1/4” cable. The Neo pedals are compatible with interface converters made by Disaster Area Designs and Empress. HXS sends MIDI, and the above implies that with THE SPECIFIED converters, it should work.
