Are you using Helix as your interface? If so, I think that's how it works. If you're using another device as your interface, then your sound control panel should look like this:

Lack of a sense of humor has always (going back to the '60s) been a problem with political feminists (political anything, really). Bottom line from my discussion with HR Support was that the FRFR112 is a TS312 without mic preamp. With the FRFR112 you want to set the Helix out to LINE. With the TS312 set it to MIC. Other than that and the big HEADRUSH logo, they are identical. If there's a shop there that has both, why not bring your Helix and try both with the relative settings as I described, then report back!

If it works the same way as the Helix floor (pretty sure it does), you create your signal path with send/receive block between front of amp fx and loop fx (HX loop send to amp in, return from amp loop send to HX loop return). Your IR goes at the end. Then you pull the IR down to create a separate path. Path 1A (no IR) goes out your 1/4" to the amp fx return, path 1B (with IR) goes out the XLR to the board. If you're using lots of fx, you've probably sent 1A to 2A, in which case it'll be 2A (no IR) out to the amp return and 2B (with IR) to the mixer.

Maybe the BOR doesn't like being in the loop. If it sounds better before the HX, use it that way. Some ODs are just like that.

For YOUR EARS, that cab/mic combo doesn't work. Try a different mic distance. Try a different mic. Try a different cab. Or use it without a cab. It's all good. If it sounds good, use it! That's the only rule!

+1 to pole mounting, sounds much better. "The primary issue with placing any FRFR speaker on the floor is you're prone to bass coupling which accentuates bass frequencies. On many higher end speakers you have specific DSP contouring options to correct for this. There is a single contour button on the Headrush that simply states it "corrects for excessive bass on some stages". I'm not sure if that refers to bass coupling as it's not really a factor of the stage as much as it is how the speaker is positioned on the stage." If you read my posts concerning Headrush's marketing, you know that while it's not actually dishonest, it's misleading. Concerning the contour switch, it's nothing more than the standard method of compensating for the Fletcher-Munson curve - at low volume the low and high frequencies are slightly boosted. You can "spin" this by saying that if you use it on the floor with the switch off, there will be LESS bass coupling. See what they did there? Don't get me wrong, it's a great sounding speaker, I really like mine (on a pole, contour switch ON/OFF to taste).

I'll only add that you shouldn't be afraid that the low price of the Headrush translates to crappy performance or dependability. Alto speakers (which is what the Headrush is) have been in wide usage now for several years, and while the discussion of "this sounds better than that" is endless, as many people prefer the Yamaha over the JBL over the fill-in-the-blank, as say that the Headrush/Alto speakers sound fine, and I haven't read about lots of failures. For the price of ONE Yamaha you can get TWO Headrush with extended warranties, no worries! I'm not knocking the Yamaha speakers (DD). One possible advantage they might have over the Headrush/Alto is the fact that they have fans for cooling, whereas the HR/Alto are passively cooled. That MIGHT be a problem if you play outdoor gigs in hot weather/direct sun, though I haven't read of anyone having that issue and I haven't done any outdoor gigs with mine. A fan is also an additional moving part, prone to failure in it's own right. Roll them dice.... Lastly, don't buy the Headrush because it's "made for use with modelers". I went round and round with Headrush on that (detailed elsewhere here and on Gearpage). It DOES sound really good with my Helix, but, bottom line, it's an Alto TS312 with no mic preamp. Period.

There are certain CC#s in the MIDI standards that are reserved for specific functions. CC#32 is reserved for sending Bank Change messages. See pages 57 and 58 of the Helix manual for a list of reserved CC#s.

Oops! You are correct about the cab sim (not enough coffee syndrome)! The FOH guy can certainly control his level in the monitor mix, but if there's only one monitor mix it has to work for everybody. Being able to use the volume knob allows him to get a little extra of him in his onstage mix without having to run back and forth to the amp for adjustments. The problem with putting the Send before the cab is that he loses any effects he put after the cab - delay, reverb, that sort of thing. He could run a separate path with duplicate post amp effects if he has enough DSP, but there's no way to tune his presets for every possible backline amp he might come across, and every preset would need to be custom. There's no real good (and simple) solution if he cares what he sounds like on stage and wants to use a guitar amp as monitor. If he MUST use a backline guitar amp, he's best off just sending it the full preset, and using the amp's tonestack (or a little stomp eq pedal) to compensate for the Helix cab. IME, the Helix amp/cab combo sometimes sounds better through a guitar amp than the Helix amp or preamp alone. He implied that he really doesn't care what it sounds like on stage, he just wants to hear something, so, whatever. Way to go (IMO) is FOH monitor mix and, if there's only one mix, an FRFR cab so he can hear himself above the monitor mix. Myself, I have to trust the FOH guy to make it sound good up front, but what I sound like on stage affects how I play and how much fun I'm having doing it! I sure don't do it for the money....

If you're using a backline amp and you don't like how using a Helix cab through a real cab sounds, just assign a footswitch to turn off the Helix cab. Then you can still use the 1/4" out and control the level with the volume knob.

Send your mono XLR OUT to FOH (in Globals, set XLR to mic level), mix some guitar into the monitors. In addition, if there's a backline amp or the monitors are self-powered, take the 1/4" Mono Out to the amp (instrument level) or powered monitor (mic or line level). In Globals, set the Volume Knob to control ONLY the 1/4" Out. That way, FOH gets a steady 0db signal level from the XLR, and you have control of your amp/monitor level.

I was assuming that you had a controller (midi drum pads) that you wanted to use to play Addictive Drums. In Helix Globals- MIDI/Tempo - set MIDI Thru to ON and MIDI Over USB to ON. Plug your pads into the Helix MIDI IN. Be sure that AD is listening on the same channel that your drum pads are sending on.

OP is NOT complaining about the product breaking. His gripe is that L6 doesn't sell parts and the support person didn't even know what parts he was talking about. He's made the ASSUMPTION that taking the unit to a service center (or sending it to L6) will be prohibitively expensive. Curious, I asked what the repair estimate was. I've not received a response, either from OP or from the other poster who agreed with him. My experience with L6 support is totally opposite his. Their support people have always been knowledgeable, and done everything and more to resolve issues. OP's lack of response to my query about the repair estimate inclines me to think that there's more to this story than we've been told.
