    Auto volume swell

Same here. Maybe it's taking longer because instead of just implementing one specific effect, auto volume in this case, they are devising a way to add this sort of functionality, with tweakable options, to any effect. That would be awesome and much better than a whole slew of new effects.
  2. Hit the 'more reply options' button below the box where you type in text to respond to a message, then all should become clear. Another way is to upload the image to an image hosting site (I don't use them so I couldn't tell you of a specific one) and then use the image button above the text box to paste the url from the image hosting site.
  3. According to this, the physical differences between the floor versus rack version is the rack version lacks: 1/4" aux input 1/8" stereo cd/mp3 input onboard expression pedal 1/4" EXP2 input But the rack version has, while the floor version doesn't: spdif input aes/ebu input internal power supply, with built in switch!
  4. In addition to what BillBee said, if you're looking to assign effects to more than one switch, kind of the opposite of what you asked, it can't be done. And switching patches might be quick, but you won't get any delay or reverb tails. There will be a sudden interruption in sound. You could certainly set up a preset to switch chorus on, overdrive off, and overdriven amp to clean. That shouldn't be a problem. The X version would allow you do to this sort of thing much more easily because of the 20% or so extra DSP. Dual amps on the non-X version won't leave much room for much else. Sorry, can't help either with the controller.
  5. It could have been either of those, but the Vped seems to trigger a few more neurons for me. I guess now we know why dedicated DSP hardware modelers are more numerous and popular. The above are maybe good ideas, but not very workable for implementation. If they were, we'd be seeing more of them, and cheaper.
  6. Definitely a good idea. Voted.
  7. I can recall seeing a video about exactly this type of thing, only I couldn't find it. And if I remember right, it was still in a kind of development stage. Perhaps it's something that just quietly died.
  8. I wonder if something like the Receptor would be capable of running S-gear. Don't know where you buy them or how much they cost or even they're still made, but if there was at one point a hardware VST player, maybe there's others. Peavey seems to make something along these lines also: https://peavey.com/products/musebox/
  9. Quit putting suggestions in people's minds that it's not the middle of June yet!  Damnit, you got my hopes up that I had a bunch of extra time all of a sudden until I realized I don't anymore. Oh yeah, don't forget that tomorrow is Thursday. Thursday.
  10. A Helix light might also have only one processor, which would severely limit what one could do, unless they also figured out a way to lower the resolution on existing HX models. If a Helix light were to become real, replacing the HD, the price would not be $500, but closer to $750. In fact, I remember DI saying that if they were to make the HD today exactly as it is, they could not sell it for $500. They can continue to do so only because they have that price locked in, or something to that effect. How many would spend twice as much, or not quite as? Might be not a lot, but more than very few? If Line 6 does make some sort of Helix light, Amplifier could be in trouble, unless you're after a very compact, physically limiting device.
  11. There is currently a bug with the tuner. If you have recently unmuted it, try putting it back to muted to see if the dry signal goes away. If that's not it, a screenshot might provide some insight as tagmusenmagnus1 suggested.
  12. Really like the tones you're getting and the beginning melody is highly memorable and energy inducing.
  13. Don't know about Firehawk. There are commonalities between Helix and the HD as far as the real amp or effect the models are made from. But there are some things in Helix that aren't in the HD and there are more things in the HD - filters in particular - that aren't in Helix. The modeling process used is different for each device, but most of the wahs and reverbs were ported to Helix from the HD.
  14. Huh. What do you know about that. It's just like you said, chill music. I liked it. It made me forget about the hot day outside. I also liked the prominent delay, making everything kind of wrap around one's senses. No clue which amp you used for the lead. Could be anything. Was it one in Helix?
  15. This seems to currently be an area where Helix is lacking. I would wait to see if the next firmware update will include any new filters. Hopefully. Can't really answer the second part with any certainty whatsoever as I'm not familiar with your sort of setup or with a talkbox, but have you tried just inserting the talkbox into one of the effects loops? Doing that would allow you place it anywhere in the signal chain by using the send and return blocks or an fx loop block. Unless there's something special about a talkbox that I don't know about?
  16. For a CC toggle, the HD only allows you send a value of 0 or 127. Additionally, I'm not sure why either of these values would matter for a toggle message anyway. It's kind of contrary to the definition of toggle. Maybe it makes a difference for midi devices other than the HD. When one of the footswitches on the HD responds to a CC message, it just toggles that switches state, regardless of the value the message contains. When I used to use the HD and controlled it via Reaper, it's not called a CC toggle in Reaper. It's just a CC message where the value doesn't matter. Maybe I don't know enough about midi, but the term CC Toggle something Line 6 only uses?
  17. Sure. :o :D   Only once you start, there's no recovering. It's permanent, damnit! At least the side-effects are minimal. An idea about the original topic: when was the HD released? Around 2010? Were colored LEDS as widespread then as they are today?
  18. Here's a link for some IR sources: http://line6.com/support/topic/17076-links-for-free-impulse-responses-ir-here/?hl=free+impulse+responses Also, Helix being a virtual guitar rig, don't be afraid to try things that you probably wouldn't in the real world. For example, placing an IR, or cab block, before an amp, in addition to after the amp. After all, an IR or cab block is basically a way of EQing the signal. You'd be less hesitant to put an EQ before the amp, just because it's named an EQ. You never know what weird combination might be pleasing to your ears.
  19. Easy to make that mistake once you've been using Helix for a while.
  20. Haha. Reminds of this: It's a good question though. Maybe it would have been more expensive to have different colors?
  21. I haven't used the bundle backup, but it seems like that is exactly how it should work. I backup my user setlist(s) and individual presets, with an indication of the firmware version. That way if a later firmware goes terribly wrong, which is unlikely, I can go back to a firmware version that I know works easily enough.
  22. Strange. You're on both the latest firmware, v1.12.0, and application, v1.12.0.0? Backup your presets and IRs and maybe try some of the reset options: http://helixhelp.com/pmwiki.php?n=Main.ResetOptions, in particular 10&11, 7&8, and 5&6, checking after each reset if it's still happening. Beyond that, I'm at a loss. I'd probably open a support ticket.
  23. Looks like you got them right. :) With one exception. Right arrow is just a test mode, no safe mode in there, although one of the menu entries is "flash", or something like that. As far as I can tell, that entry just does some sort of internal check on the memory where the firmware is placed.
  24. Stupid: we're all this for taking the bait about what DI said about a future update. Fun: it's what DI experiences when he finds out we're all stupid, as expected!
