  1. You can also save the patches individually in bulk. Highlight multiple patches in EDIT, and drag them to the pc. You can't import them the same way, but at least you can export them.
  2. LOL I really wished I knew what half of all this crap was that you guys are talking about. All this tech jargon, just shut up and play.
  3. It's not going to happen, but of course it is possible. The question is... What effect are you looking for that isn't already in there?
  4. The right ONE? Who the hell said anything about ONE. One this afternoon, maybe. But not one forever. EW.
  5. Take $20-50, and run down to Wal-Mart. Buy yourself some computer speakers. Or Best Buy or Radio Shack. And probably a 3.5mm to 1/4" converter, because the Pod outputs are 1/4".
  6. OH. Ok. My bad. Note to self --- not an instigator, just a lollipop.
  7. Ya know, I think Customtone is either flawed, or Line 6 has wised up... All of the 300 and 400 tone lists are the same. Either way, correct, the 300 and 400 are constructed differently than the 500. Whereas, the 500, 500x, hd pro, and hd pro x are all compatible file formats.
  8. And just to clarify for future readers... You can download the patches. You can even upload them. But you can not install them onto your Pod. upload/download is not the same thing as install/import/export. But yes, absolutely, you can download them from Customtone onto your computer.
  9. And you guys say that I am the instigator.
  10. Condoms? Nah. If she doesn't want to swallow it, make her wear it.
  11. OOO.... I like that (and usb stick) just as much as I do an Android EDIT. In fact, the biggest reason that I want an Android EDIT isn't to create/edit patches, it is to be able to install/move patches/setlists/bundles. Which, currently can only be done with EDIT. But if they found a way to install/move patches without EDIT, then I wouldn't need the Android EDIT.
  12. Some of what you guys are saying are... well... they just wouldn't be included in a "bigger" version. They would need to be included on a "newer" version. Like a 505. There is a difference between making a new one like a 505 and a bigger one like a 600.
  13. The best setup for an HD500 with a fm3, would be... Put the FM3 beside the drum kit. Use it as a stage prop. You know, to put your foot on and do "rock star" poses. Plug the 500 direct into the PA.
  14. Well, I disagree that no one would buy it. Hell, I bet some of the tech chasers would sell their Helix to buy a HD600. ~~~ always gotta have the newest toy. So, just to play the game instead of dealing in reality.... The HD600 would have a 2nd exp pedal. A headphone volume that is independent of the master volume. And ANDROID SUPPORT.
  15. Before I get too far in this post let me say that I am not a professional musician. Then Wal-Mart gear is fine. I recently sold most of my equipment for my first child. So there is no reason to buy more gear - EVER. Your life is now about your child. Your happiness doesn't exist through anything but your child from this day forward. I've used every pod since 2.0 but not the x version. Which means you spend money wastefully. So, I'm debating which of these to get. Repeat all previous answers. Pros for the Helix is that it sounds better, but how much? Not 3x better, which is how much more it costs over a new HD500X. And that assumes that you can dial in decent tones. If you can't dial on a decent tone, it doesn't matter what gear you have. I don't know. That is why you are here. Pod is cheaper but there's the sound quality issue. I am a professional and don't have a problem with the sound quality of the Pod -- WHY SHOULD YOU. I'm only playing via headphones or powered monitors. If you are using headphones, how are you going to hear the baby cry. Speakers will interfere with the babies life. Basically, you're screwed. I record but just for fun. Which is just a waste of time after reading that you aren't a professional. I could get the Pod sooner than later but the Helix would take time to save for. If you are capable of buying one now but needing to save for another, then in reality, you can't afford either. You have a child. Not only should silly little hobbies like music be over, but you need to make sure your family has a "nest egg" in case something were to happen to you. Plus, college is expensive. You need to save now. The Helix presets I can use right out of the box, the Pod presets stink. If you aren't a professional, you can use the Pod presets. I am a tweaker though. I never would have guessed. I don't know if I really need the Helix I think you just answered your own damn question. though it's supposedly light years beyond. Humans can't actually imagine what a light year is. Thoughts? See all of the above.
  16. Right and wrong, vs legal and illegal. Those two concepts have grown further and further apart. I've said many times -- You have the right to be a idiot. That doesn't mean that you should be one.
  17. Americans = 10 second vines. 20 second soundbytes. 160 character text messages and twitter feeds. Hell, have you even read this far? Germans = a 30 minute video of a guy sitting on a chair drinking coffee talking about --- it doesn't matter. It was a video of him sitting there drinking coffee for 30 minutes. The only editing or special effect was the mood lighting behind the wall of amps. Just click record and go. Hey, didn't I just say something along these same lines? You guys with your $200 Chinese guitars - you are willing to play for $50. But when you start spending $2000 on gear, and $50-100 for regular setups --- $50 isn't enough. And then, because you are only getting $50, you aren't planning on buying the $2000 gear. Yes, it is theft. As someone in the retail business, I sell stuff, I also do rentals. I do NOT, however, provide free rentals, by allowing people to buy stuff and return it after their gig (or in this case, after they digitally steal the product).
  18. There's 2 setlists that are left blank and available to use. And downloaded presets will be installed where you tell them to go. I assume your next questions are going to be: 1. What is a setlist. 2. How do I change setlists. 3. How do I tell the machine where to install the new patches.
  19. With all of the male bravado and testicular fortitude that I possess, even I admit that newer electronic gadgets cannot be figured out (beyond the basics) without reading the manuals. Read the manuals.
  20. No, you can't switch outputs via preset. Advice on getting better modeling sounds direct --- practice makes perfect. But remember, you aren't hearing the guitar amp sound. You are hearing the mic'd guitar amp sound. You may that, but so many people forget that fact, so it needs mentioned. HOWEVER: If you are willing to run things in mono, meaning no stereo effects, you can run your acoustic panned full-left and the electric panned full-right. The right can go to your amp and the left can go direct. Case solved.
  21. I thought L6 ships all of them with the original firmware. And it is up to you to upgrade the firmware. However, new vs new. That is a problem that has plagued businesses and customers for a long time. A new unit is one that has not been sold. It is not the latest product to come in.
  22. The thread was dead before we decided to have a philosophical discussion on the state of the music industry and the people in it.
