  1. No difficulty detected :) I am not talking about how loud you listen to youtube. I am talking about how loud the sound in the room is in the video with a reference mic picking up the sound. Again, I am just hypothesising to possible reasons why people may have a hard time replicating that tone at home if they are going directly into a DAW and listening through reference monitors. People may have better luck trying to copy that sound through an FRFR at volume.
  2. Not so much to do with speaker breakup... just sound levels. To my ears stuff sounds much better when its loud.
  3. It's hard to compare the direct recorded tones posted here to the video in the OP. A cranked speaker is hard to replicate, and no doubt the PA speakers in the video were being pushed. I know my Helix sounds better loud at rehearsal and live compared to at home through my studio monitors.
  4. Yup me too... this happened to me on some of the Fremen Presets. I just turned the modeling off on my Variax and hit save twice on my Helix. I did it for each patch so now I don't have the issue.
  5. I set my global eq as follows... low and mid and high gain 0.0 low cut 90hz high cut 6.0khz For cab settings, I also do... Low cut 72 hz 6.9 I borrowed these settings from others and they helped remedy the problems you described. They get rid of fizz and boom, and allow my guitar to sit well in a live band mix. Good luck.
  6. Selfishly, I just want to bump this thread so it can get more ideascale votes. Vote it up if you think it would be a good feature!!
  7. Just hit Save once, then you have the option of selecting a new setlist and location. Then hit save again. You're not really moving it... just copying it.
  8. I have a JTV59. I use the magnetic PU's whenever possible... I only use modelling for acoustic or different tunings. My JTV 59 mag pickups into my Helix make for great metal sounds IMO.
  9. ^^ because they may be able to take care of you...
  10. I just installed this pickgaurd today. I let it sit overnight in some coffee to darken it a bit so it would more closely match the pickup rings. Using a Dremel, I had to remove about 1mm from one section of the pickgaurd to get it to fit. I just tried to post the pic here in the forum, but I got an error message.... "Not allowed to post pictures with that extension." I copied image address from Picasa and used the photo icon above the dialog box on the forum here. What am I doing wrong? ***** https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/S0UDbaYFx3qWEuLCFM64pMspH6i1blZoLuaYVgX0BrlfppZ7h7-NKK1BjYChpy_umFvw0mXQMgzIWw=w1366-h768-rw-no
  11. no to both questions. But many IR companies have separate IR's featuring the same speakers/cab but with different mics.
  12. OP... the video series these guys put together have been a big help to me. Check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4wBy4RQcx8
  13. I just submitted an ideascale... please up vote if so inclined. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Display-a-visual-indicator-of-the-expression-pedal-position/839080-23508?submitted=1
  14. I have a tough time seeing that while standing. I think you could double or triple the font size on the scribble script. Or, as Phil said an indicator bar would probably work well, too. Or, and indicator bar AND the percentage.
  15. Having the expression pedal scribble script display the percentage would be a useful feature for me when using the pedal as a volume control. I could drop the volume of my sound consistently to say 60% on a song that requires a quieter guitar section. Really I am just guessing the pedal position at this point when I use it. There would be many other applications for this feature for controlling parameters mid-song consistently. Any other interest? http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Display-a-visual-indicator-of-the-expression-pedal-position/839080-23508?submitted=1
  16. A bit off topic, but the OP mentioned 4CM confusion when setting up at gig time. I found this video a couple years back and the woman explains how she color codes her MFX and cables for easy set-up. I used her system when I ran the 4CM with my M13. Quick and easy set-ups. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7VX8oUb85U
  17. No just a regular guitar cable. The settings for the heel down/off wah are in this thread... http://line6.com/support/topic/22614-wah-off-at-heel-or-off-at-toe-can-this-be-done-with-fw-201/
  18. I just got the Ernie Ball VP Jr and set it up as my wah using Spikey's method of heel down/wah off. It works spectacularly. Thanks for the tip, Spikey!
  19. Its the one that says 25K ohm on the input plate. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EB6181?adpos=1o1&creative=55644138841&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=Cj0KEQjw9b6-BRCq7YP34tvW_uUBEiQAkK3svfH-ybJrZXlbrLSNgViXM6R4GQCzxSD8J1djiPz8mxwaAoNc8P8HAQ
  20. ^^ I agree with the above. The tech probably just wanted to use the ground lift on the direct box.
  21. I have had good luck with the fuzzes going into a very clean jc120 model. When i try to add fuzz to an already overdriven amp model, i get results that always sound bad to my ears.
  22. What do you like about them? What don't you like? I am considering buying the Mission Engineering pedal, there are a few used ones available with asking price of $100... just want to consider other options.
