  1. Most every other unit out there has a simple stereo line in that doesn't need anything set up for individual patches. I already have this cable. Helix is above having this feature because it is a Pro unit?
  2. I agree that the claim that Helix is a pro unit that doesn't need a stereo line in is, well, BS. No offense to anyone but the percentage of people who buy the Helix, that are pros (actually make more money than they spend on gear) is probably pretty low. Well below 50%. I certainly am in that demographic. It would have been nice to have this feature, but the USB solution is working fine for me.
  3. ^^I tried this when I first got the Helix, but Windows 10 wouldn't let me change my soundcard to Helix. Just tried again and it worked. Bizarre... Anyway, thanks. I wouldn't have tried it unless you suggested it.
  4. I want to play songs through my 2 input FRFR at home along with my guitar through the Helix. It Doesn't have to be stereo. Could I use a simple line mixer like this...? http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHMX400?siid=38044&-6BRDgnb-Dk96UmRASJADbMycYsVtnqqa4HFHM1YAzyj1etpZ8QFYRUFCJaJLY9JiYqRoCHEfw_wcB= Laptop-->PreSonus Audiobox USB-->the above line mixer-->FRFR Here is a link to the spec sheet of the above line mixer... http://file:///C:/Users/andy_/Downloads/MX400_ENG_Rev_A.pdf
  5. In the upper left corner of the "Reply" window, the third icon (next to the "Font" drop down) is for "Special BBcode". Click that, then select media, then paste your URL into the appropriate dialog box.

  7. That is odd because I do not recall anyone having a plink issue on any other string but the low E. Just by coincidence the faulty elecronic components are only attached to the low E string? Sounds like someone at the factory is playing a joke on us.
  8. When I ordered from him, he emailed me the patches a few hours later. They were great, and I enjoy his work on YouTube immensely. Best of health to you, Scott!
  9. Yup. I have 2 Power engines. One I leave at rehearsal and one for home use. I set my tones on the Helix through my Studio monitors, and it almost always sounds great through the Power Engine. Once in a while I'll have to tweak some EQ but usually not. I like mid-focused, BTW, for cutting through the rest of the band. We play metal and classic rock. I must add that I go through the PA at rehearsal, as well as through the PE.
  10. L6 staff? I was wondering, are there any new developments with this issue?
  11. Cell phone too close to your speakers/power amp? Aliens trying to hack your Helix to steal patches? I dunno?
  12. You first have to assign an on/off function to the switch for an amp or pedal, then use the Command Center-> Customize feature to rename the script, then un-assign the on/off function. The Helix won't allow me to access the Customize feature until I assign the pedal to turn on/off an effect or amp.
  13. Thanks for the advice, guys. I will try and tweak some more. I just want to state that I am not looking for myself to nail this tone, but I am setting up this thread as a fun way for Helix owners to try to match many of our favorite sounds. Hopefully others will attaempt the Gov't Mule tone and post others for us to try.
  14. Yep I did that. Are you going to try?
  15. I tried this on another forum, but I want to get this going here as well. I could be a lot of fun. I wanted to tone match the into to this Gov't Mule song. There is a "fatness" characteristic to this tone that I am having a hard time duplicating. https://youtu.be/hv2xjHLs6bA Here is the sound that I felt got somewhat in the ballpark. Played with a Les Paul with humbuckers... https://app.box.com/s/vht5if89nv2n1zip3xlzncbeba8tgesu I am curious too see is someone with more experience can get closer. Others also suggest tones!
  16. I have 4 guitar cases disigned for Les Pauls. The 59 fits in them all.
