Love it.... seems spot on.

This is the Helix subforum... post your question in the Firehawk section.

I didn't mean to come across as critical to those that would spend that munch money on a speaker. I spend $$ like crazy on guitars :)

Helix and Variax String Pitch Changes - B-Bender experiment
Rocco_Crocco replied to phil_m's topic in Helix
Wow that's pretty ingenious, Phil. Sounds great. -
Damn... $1500. It better kick a$$ for that much money.

Marshall 1960v and Soldano 2x12 are my fav's. Engl for metal tones are great, too.

Impulse responses-Clarifications needed for nooby.

use any .wav. 1024 sounds fine. not Helix specific. -
His recommended global EQ settings are included as a "read me" file on some of his downloads... I think i noticed it on his Gilmour pack. IIRC Glenn just suggests a low and hi cut. I don't remember what those numbers are as I set mine a little less aggressively. I am sure Glenn would provide those to any of his customers via email. Also, thank you Glenn for your hard work. I have 6 presets I use for my cover band, and four of them are yours.

Just checking to confirm a cab or IR blcok exists in each of your presets... without those it is a distorted mess.

I installed the latest editor first, then installed 2.0 firmware to Helix. It froze up for sure. I had elected NOT to to go back to factory settings, but after the unit froze 2 or 3 times, I did the reset, and it worked fine.

Thanks, Dennis... good to know.

Happy 4th to all the American forumites! Yesterday I was importing presets I downloaded. They sounded great, until I went to add a boost footswitch. I assigned the following amp (2204 head) parameters to the "boost" footswitch -- increase in channel volume, increase in mid, decrease in bass. I was using the Helix editor in Windows 10 at assign the parameters to the switch, hitting the "save" button on the editor between each parameter being added. At some point in the process, I lost sound to the preset. I went to a different preset, then came back and still no sound. Next I tried removing the boost footswitch altogether, yet still no sound. I removed the patch, re-imported and added the footswitch manually on the Helix without the editor and it worked fine.

Thin Lizzy, Billy Idol and Van Halen presets
Rocco_Crocco replied to Chris-Beaver's topic in Promote Your Patches
Cool. They sounded great!. I joined Facebook just to check out those presets. -
Ha that's the same gear I inquired about in the OP. I think I am gonna have a go at this over the weekend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yix2qMr4Yzw&feature=youtu.be

^^^^ I bought the Peavey 6505 4x12, Friedman 4x12, Port City, Fender Twin and the Engl 4x12. Engl by far is my favorite cab for metal out of any IR I have tried. The Port City is good for cleans, the Friedman good for Crunch to high gain. Haven't really messed around with the Peavey or Fender too much.

Very nice! I like the 3 Sigma IRs as well.

I too found the Ownhammer IR's to be overwhelming. Too many choices for me, but YMMV. "3 Sigma" has way fewer IR's and they sound great. Each cab pack has 10 IRs... half are bass heavy for brittle sounding amp models, and half are normal. I love 'em. http://www.3sigmaaudio.com/

I'm toying with the idea of getting a pedalboard. I want to get something that I can set up semi-permanently and be portble, so I don't have to set it up every time I transport it. I want room for the Helix, a Digitech Drop pedal (roughly the size of a Tubescreamer), and my G30 wireless transmitter (about 4"X 3"), and an expression pedal. I know it would be rather large, and may be impractical (though I am not sure.... I never owned a pedalboard). Any great choices out there?

I just want to make sure I have this right....
Rocco_Crocco replied to Rocco_Crocco's topic in Helix
Thanks for the advice, guys... I saved everything both as separate setlists AND bundle, but it was moot. The Helix restored all my presets, presumable because I didn't choose to get the updated factory presets. -
If I "export bundle" in the Helix app, then I have saved all my patches and setlists to my hard drive? When I go to import back into my Helix, they will be organized exactly the way they were in my Helix when I exported them? Do I have this right? I still haven't done the May update and want to do it right and do it efficiently. Thanks

Well I got mine to work using the USB solution, so I am good. I meant no offense to Digital Igloo, who spends most of his time on the forum here being helpful. Still love my Helix and would not trade it for anything.
