  1. How hard would it be for Line 6 to reduced the db (via software update) in a very narrow bandwidth of the offending frequency? It seems like the frequency is the same in most examples. Miroslav's is exactly the same overtone as mine.
  2. Through the l2m you are hearing the sound of a mic'd amp, not an actual amp. A guitar amp coming out of a guitar speaker sounds different that a mic'd amp coming out of a PA speaker.
  3. The first thing I would do is take the EQ out of the chain.
  4. Things wear out. How old was it? Did you take it out of the house much to gig?
  5. Miroslav, I apologize if I asked this already, but have you tried filing the piezo casing? It totally fixed my problem. I think the cause (at least on my guitar) was that when I palm-muted E6, the string was pressed into the piezo casing by my hand, thus causing the plinking. After filing the plink is gone... poof... like a puff of smoke.
  6. It was all the patches. I tried a bunch of them.
  7. I was in a rush to get to rehearsal last night, as I was late. I get there and everyone is waiting for me. I set up quickly. Plug my HD500X into the PA, strum an E chord and.... nothing. I check all my cables. They all work fine. WTF? I was just using the POD two hours earlier and it was working perfectly. I trace the issue to the "Guitar In" jack on the HD500X. Must be bad. Crap. I get through rehearsal using an old Flextone the drummer had lying around. It had a blown speaker. I keep the volume low and mic the speaker and crank it through the PA. Hey whatever, it got me through rehearsal. I get home and go online to find a Line 6 service center (still under warranty) . There's one fairly close by. "I wonder how long it will take to fix", I say to myself, thinking the worse (6 weeks? more?). I was resigned to being without my POD until it was fixed. This morning, on a whim, I plugged the POD to check how the inputs were set. Sure enough was set to "Variax" on 1 and "Same" on 2. This would render the "Guitar In" useless. This was not how I had it set. I Changed Input 2 back to guitar and it now works as it should. I swear, some odd little (technically savvy) creature must have turned on my HD500X and switched my input from "guitar" to "same". It wasn't me. Gremlins do exist.
  8. Yes I have tried a wood pick, a horn pick and my usual Dunlop Ultex pick and the plink was always there, until I filed the piezo casing. Now its fine.
  9. Any advice to improve your situation would just be guesses unless you upload tones or post sound clips.
  10. psarkiann, have you ever had a Variax in your hands that exhibited the same issue that this thread is dealing with, namely a harsh overtone when palm-muting the low e string?
  11. Can I use both XLR and 1/4" at the same time? I want to go to the PA with the XLRs and into a monitor with 1/4" out. I would test it myself but I don't have any XLR cables at my house.
  12. This is great advice. PG you posted this before and this is now how I set levels on my patches.
  13. It's not firmware, its mechanical. File the Low E piezo casing and you can get on with enjoying your guitar.
  14. To the guys that are still having issues with the pinging, a small amount of filing on the piezo casing has absolutely fixed the issue 100% for some of us. Clink the link below and start with KatieKerry's post #102. http://line6.com/support/topic/111-make-your-variax-sound-100-better/page-3
  15. How does the Peavey hook into the POD? Regular guitar cable? If so the POD has no effect on the AT-200;s electronics.
  16. I just got a new computer running windows 10. I have no complaints so far except... When I plug my powered monitors or headphones into the headphone jack, the volume will be normal for a couple seconds, then a drastic volume reduction happens. I think its a automatic limiter to keep kids from blowing their eardrums out, but there seems no way to disable it. It's way too quiet for jamming even at moderate levels. Google tells me others had a similar problem with Windows 8, but after clicking out of a warning, you could increase the volume again. Anyone else notice this?
  17. It's probably polyester, especially if you're referring to the import version.
  18. I just changed out the tuners on my 59 and used these. Installed perfectly in about 30 minutes. They really won't help to keep my guitar in tune but changing strings is a lot easier.
  19. That sucks. I would re-flash and keep an eye on it.
  20. You really need more wattage to play out side (vs inside), whether it be a bigger amp or mic'ing your current amp and running it through a powerful PA. The soundwaves sort of dissipate into the ether when you try to do music outside.
  21. When the drums come in nobody can tell the sampling rate of your guitar rig. But you're right, there's nothing like a guitar straight into a good tube amp.
