  1. What are your hi cuts settings? Globally? IRs? Speaker Block? This is how you fix fizz.
  2. Buy Fremen's patch bundle and be done with it.
  3. 70hz and 7.2khz respectively on the cab blocks.
  4. ^^ Thanks Glenn. Much better,
  5. I'm glad you like your OHs. I read that they give you a "Start Here" folder with the purchase of their IRs, with the intention of giving you a good starting point of great tones, but I didn't get a "Start Here" folder with my purchase. I forget the name of the bundle I bought, but there was a boatload of them, and they sounded very good... just overwhelming for me having to print out the chart to cross reference their naming system to exactly what mic and placement was used, etc.
  6. What is your budget? I have a $300 USD Alto powered 12" speaker that I think sounds great... other companies have offerings to $1500 and beyond.
  7. The presets are relatively quiet. It isn't so easy to just turn each one up. Some of the snapshots are effecting channel volumes, output volumes, etc. I was going to add a gain block to each preset... about 4dB to get them to match the rest of my patches. If Glenn is adjusting them, I'd rather just re-download the new patches. They do sound great, BTW... I haven't been a huge fan of the stock cabs but he managed to get them to sound excellent.
  8. Can you record the tone direct to DAW then post? I am sorry but i am not convinced that you're not hearing the physical unamplified sound of the strings mingling with the amplified notes creating a sonic "weirdness" that is being perceived as a third sound. I went through this myself with the Variax... The amplified signal really needs to be pretty loud to overcome this phenomenon... Louder that what i would consider a bedroom level. Please dont take offense... Just trying to completely rule out the simplest possibility first.
  9. The Park 75 is my favorite amp model, along with the 2204 mod. Phil that sounds great!
  10. On both my 59 and 89, the mags sustain longer. In fact, my sustain on my 59 (mags) is almost magical. I came to the conclusion that, for me, the best use of my Variax is to use the mags whenever possible, which equated to 90% of the time. The other 10% is when I am using the acoustic models, or an alt tuning, where I end up using the Lester model pickup anyway, as I prefer the sound of humbuckers for almost everything I play.
  11. It is an addendum to the big pack, and they are workbench patches for variax, not helix patches.
  12. I redownloaded the big pack. I am seeing the new Pink Floyd presets but not the Variax ones. Where are they located?
  13. Line 6 will not disclose their proprietary processes about anything. Mitch -- sorry, but I don't think you will get a definitive answer to your question.
  14. I use a parametric eq after the speaker cab.
  15. Fremen, I searched this thread and others and can't seem to find the answer... how do you set your global EQ in Helix for live with a band applications?
  16. Sometimes the tab goes under the clip. This happened to me. I carefully pushed the blade of a small screwdriver onto the clip to disengage it. From the on I made sure the tab was in the right spot before I inserted the cable into the Variax. Good luck.
  17. Yeah I tried explaining this as well, but somehow the OP turned it into a conversation about listening to youtube loudly and PA speaker breakup.
  18. The EB I posted absolutely works as an expression pedal with the Helix. I use it for my wah plugged into EXP 3. There are several versions of the EBVPjr, you just have to make sure you get the 6181 25K model. The other versions will not work.
  19. This Ernie Ball pedal also works well and is fairly inexpensive. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EB6181?adpos=1o1&creative=55644138841&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=Cj0KEQjw9b6-BRCq7YP34tvW_uUBEiQAkK3svfH-ybJrZXlbrLSNgViXM6R4GQCzxSD8J1djiPz8mxwaAoNc8P8HAQ
