  1. Thats kind of like asking for an IR of a guitar....or drums.....or a singer. You generally dont get an IR of instruments. Theres nothing thats going to make your guitar sound like a banjo other than playing a banjo, or a tool specifically designed for that, similar to an acoustic simulation pedal. But even then i wouldnt expect attempted recreations to be very faithful.
  2. You hooked a guitar cab up to the headphone out and its kinda loud?!?! and good sounding?!?!? Very interesting.Wouldnt have guessed that would be the outcome!
  3. LOL, i dont think thats the first time thats happened. I wish they'd make that font a little darker there. Easy enough to find if youre looking for it i guess. Yeah, helix without snapshots would be unimaginable. I have VERY few presets that do not utilize at least one snapshaot.
  4. This makes perfect sense because this is helix's DI channel. You'll never hear anything from 7 and 8 other than clean DI guitar. Helix wont put processing on these channels. Go into your DAW and set channel 7 to be an active recording buss. As long as you have helix selected as your asio driver, anytime you arm a track to record from buss 7 you'll get DI guitar. Then you can throw your fav software on as an effect.
  5. Computer audio is such a funny thing. If helix fights one program for me its amplitube. Both 3 AND 4. Only running the free version of amplitube, but i cant think thats going to make too much difference. TH3 on the other hand works great. If youre talking about asio4all when you say "generic" that would surprise me because thats a great driver. again, all i can think is computer audio is such a funny thing. i agree, however i dont think Helix's driver is the most stable thing. I also have issues with Studio One that i only have when im running helix as an interface, (which ive been doing quite a lot lately for a whole host of reasons- simplicity is one that comes to mind) so i cant be toooo quick to point fingers at amplitube as being the issue in my set-up. Arent scenes and snapshots the same thing? Yeah you have it running correctly but are having the same fight i have often with A3 and 4 both. Sometimes it just doesnt work. Try a different program to test.
  6. I guess im up for some new amps. Not to the point id start a thread over it though. Im more about seeing the cab section tweaked. Id like to see about 5 -10 more amps in Helix. Real classics done REAL well. 5 higher gain and 5 Mid gain. Powerball, XTC, Satan, Silver Jubilee, PT100 Thunderverb or Rockerverb, and id be over the moon with helix.
  7. Well it looks like your hx effects isnt seeing the computer first off. Make sure you have a working USB cable and USB jacks. No hubs from what i hear. It makes perfect sense that its not going to import IRs........because its not "seeing" the computer in this screenshot. Get that one solved first and im betting the IR issue will take care of itself.
  8. Yeah i didnt hate the old tuner, but this one is an improvement for sure. Thats really all i care about with Helix. Whatever they decide to add in an update, professional quality all the way. I like so many others, was a little bummed about not seeing any new amps in the update, but the reliability of the new tuner makes the trade off worth it IMO.
  9. Can you chime in here man? As to any reason i wouldnt see the $99 tag?
  10. thanks, i am registered. It my only registered L6 product as you can see under my name, but still no dice, so im not sure whats up.
  11. I bought Helix as an open box or whatever. Still paid $1200 which is more than the price of an LT. I would assume that would entitle me to native for $99 but ive only ever been offered a $399 tag. Thoughts?

    Boot time?

Gives us a break. Im pretty sure no one in the parking lot is going to care about the 15 seconds.
  13. Theres not really a lot to "fix" with the tuner. It tunes my guitars just fine, so im not really sure what you are referring to. Would something better be nice? Sure, but blurting out demands probably wont inspire much of a change. Now i know some have mentioned that setting your input block to "guitar" instead of "multi" seems to have an effect on the tuner, but to be honest i dont think ive tried it because like i said, helix gets me as close as most other tuners do, without much hassle.
  14. Even though there are not a lot of "cleanish vintage sounds" on the list by name, that sound is still pretty easily achievable. Line 6 Doom does some nice clean sounds(my fav actually), SLO clean channel, Zed, J45, Brit Trem, Litigator, A30 fawn, Jazz Rivet, Cali Rythm I....they all do that sound well enough to make me feel like there is no shortage in the clean tones department. Actually most any of the amps can made to do clean tones pretty easily. No need to add amps that completely forego the heavier sounds just for the sake of calling them "clean amps". I say bring on the versatility. For sure the amps you put on your list, here. Would like to see a Powerball as well. Definitely a selection from Randall and Diezel. Dont be afraid to get creative. Dont be afraid to take risks. Please though, any new additions, quality over quantity by a large margin.
  15. Title says it all. If not then what are you hoping for?

    Helix Eb tuning

where you set it up in the chain plays a big part
  17. Mucho informo yo. Sometimes they are there for me, but most often they are not. Using chrome I liked the look of the last one. This one has some cool features too, but the look isnt anything. Taking the best from both would nice, but that aint happenin.
  18. Just me or any one else? The other thing too is that often after this has happened, when clicking the "sign in" link, the page just stays idle and does not redirect to the necessary location. Also a somewhat frustrating and unrelated gripe is that the bar at the top most often doesnt show a direct link back to the helix forum but only the "multi effects" forum. See attachment.
  19. It seems normal that the simple EQ would use more DSP than hi/low. More filters so logic tells me it should just for that reason alone. Also "simple" uses shelving filters on the hi and low side so that could more require computing possibly. Boy, if you are not using amps or preamps in the Helix (assuming youre doing that part in the Kemper) then running out of DSP in any case should require a bit of effort. 1)Yes. Ive seen various mentions on the web. Some comparisons made. Wish i could point you somewhere, but i know theres some useable stuff out there. 2) Only for DSP benefits.
  20. You actually COULD save settings to a block and have them retained. Ive done it......but if it satisfies you to continue on with the - "No it wasnt" ...."yes it was"....."No it wasnt" - instead providing any concrete evidence, by all means knock your socks off. I'll have to opt out of that one. Brother ive actually done it on the helix so i KNOW it was possible. Sorry, i'll have to file this reply the same place as "the reason you can’t select multiple blocks in the editor is because you can’t do it in the hardware" - which was already proven to be incorrect.
  21. I dont want to take your Helix from ya brother. We'll just say you have to start a willj was right and phil was wrong thread....and then i can help you a little bit with the content of the message. Just to be clear im talking about saving blocks. Adding a block to a path and having it initiate with preselected settings.
  22. Crow would taste fine. Id take that over........... Listen Phil you are just incorrect about some of the things you are saying. There 100% WAS user definable defaults in an earlier firmware version so you are mistaken there. I'll wager my Helix on it. Im not going to reinstall every firmware version to prove a point, but i guarantee sooner or later some one will come along and attest to the fact. Never owned a POD XT. Secondly you can select multiple presets, IR files, and delete them in the editor but not on the hardware so while the undo thing may be true (which i intentionally did not specify because its an entirely different ball game) your editor/hardware theory certainly is debatable. And not odd whatsoever that same lack of respect goes to 70 year old men who have nothing better to do than spend every last second on the internet, trolling posts (or in this case the poster) over their own complete misinterpretation of a dialogue....because if its not that important to you, then it cant be of relevance right? Id think youd have better things to do with your time than attempting to put people in their place because you are bother by their posts.
  23. See these are some of the things that make helix a sub par product in certain areas. There is no logical reason that contrl click has not been implemented. Same thing with user definable defaults (which WAS in an earlier firmware version but was removed- really!!?) or how about multiple splits? or did you ever notice how anything below 11% mix is pretty well OFF, or how about the A/B split control? The sonics you get when the A/B split panner is set at 80% left is the same as when its 100% left. I know im way OT here but these things ( and lots of'm) that are fundamentals, that dont work right or are not even a part of Helix just causes me to respect it a whole lot less. Sure i like it and am happy to use it, but some of these omissions just cause me to take the entire brand a whole let less serious, not to mention makes the unit less enjoyable to use. I dont choose to feel this way intentionally. Its just the effect of a cause.
