  1. if the strings are old replac'em. if you can reload/rese :)t/reflash firmware/software, do that :)
  2. is the amp still humming? i think the transformer was going bad and finally fried.
  3. don't have any suggestions for that but this guy might. http://line6.com/support/user/76460-spaceatl/ pm him if he doesn't stop by.
  4. of course there could have been an error installing the drivers, as you suggest and if his win7 has an internet connection available, he should try that also
  5. at one point, the computer that doesn't have internet access, obviously was connected to the internet, since line6 monkey is installed. savon obviously knows how to install the drivers and firmware since his other computer sees the hd. a global reset is the easiest and quickest thing to do. i' assuming savon is indicating that monkey and the drivers are installed when he writes- "...win7 which nevertheless possesses line6 Monkey and all the drivers..."
  6. well, you know rush doesn't use amps. alex and geddy can't get there tone from chicken roasters and washing machines. i wonder what they use.
  7. My problem is that with win7 which nevertheless possesses line6 Monkey and all the drivers do not see the pod is yet Rellie via USB i'm assuming he has drivers installed
  8. global reset; hold down the left arrow on the navigation button while you energize the pod back up the patches you have made beforehand!
  9. get line6 monkey. install updates and an editor program either line6 edit or gearbox or both to see which one you like. http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-3827 http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-4734 http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-4742 http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-4747 just some info to scope
  10. i knew that. i was trying to use my rye sense of humor. it kind'a gets lost in the writing
  11. nad amps. i bought one in 1988. still use for my tv. nice tight sound with my polk bookshelf speakers. when i first bought the amp and my friends saw it, they hadn't heard of nad. so one of them ribbed me about it and asked me, "what;s nad mean, not always dynamic?" haha. i would think you have to ampllfy the signal from your computer to the speakers if you have time go to the products manual page and check out some recording hardware. go to the top of the page and click suppot
  12. i think my next move is going to be real pedals. i like the idea of being able to get different tones from modeled amps but i have no idea what 99% of those amps sound like. i just select an amp and tweak until i get something i like. as for the fx, i use delay, distortion, compression, chorus and noise gate and that's about it. it will cost considerably more but what's money in your search for tone. as for reverb, my amp has one of the best sounding i've heard. keeping up with modeling is getting out of hand for me. i suppose if i was recording i would have a more positive attitude toward modeling. as far as the 500x, what use is more dsp if the amps don't sound any more realistic? is it possible with more dsp that line6 can improve the modeling of the amps? or does it require something other than more dsp?
