  1. Vos can utor Google est transferendum post te in anglicus quod magis verisimile impetro vestri respondeo.
  2. The PODHD models amps not guitars.
  3. Back when I did computers for a living I remember a guy telling me that Unix doesn't have any bugs, never has any problems, and he didn't understand why everyone didn't know that. There is never and will never be such an OS. They all have bugs, they all crash, they can all be hacked. I just choose the one that gives me the least hassle, has the most software, and inexpensive hardware. Computers being so cheap I don't need to run a free OS on my 15 year old computer. Hell my friggin phone isn't that old. But I digress. Nice meme spaceatl
  4. Still don't understand why anyone would choose an OS that has approx 1% of the market instead of Windows that has over 85%. Life's 'tuff enough, why add more frustration. But then I don't understand why some people WANT to live off the grid either. To each their own.
  5. What other sound drivers do you have installed ? Do you have any ASIO drivers installed ?
  6. PunkyBoy you said "Go to your maps into Windows and take a look of Line 6 maps if they are just delete look at:" What is a maps into Windows ?
  7. I already answered the difference between a 500 and 500x earlier. Than ran out of chips for the 500 and put in a comparable chip in the 500x. Technically the 500x has a tiny bit more power and you might be able to squeeze in 1 more effect. The buttons were upgraded on the 500x too. This is why the 500's are cheaper, even though it's basically the same thing and sound the same.
  8. If I remember correctly...the PODHD 400 can't do dual amps like the PODHD 500. Some of the better tones you hear are from combining 2 amp models together. This one feature is worth the extra money. Other than that they sound the same other than the 500 gives you more flexibility in how you arrange your FX blocks and amps. Bottom line: don't skimp on 50 bucks. I just checked eBay and both are about the same price. You'll have to bid on it and NOT press Buy Now and should be able to get a 500 for around $200 to $250.
  9. A used PODHD500 is cheap. You don't need the PODHD500x. They both sound the same and do the same things. They ran out of chips for the PODHD500 and had to put in a comparable chip for the 500x and the updated the buttons. Don't waste your money on the 300 or 400. You may find out that you like the PODHD500 better than a real amp. It's nice to have different tones that are easily accessible that you can carry into a gig under your arm instead of lugging an amp around with a bunch of finicky pedals.
  10. A lot of people went through the same thing. The biggest problem with the PODHD is it's a tough learning curve to get the tone you want, especially hi-gain. If you're willing to ask questions and learn, there's a lot of people here that are willing to help. But I would at least recommend you apologize for acting like a spoiled child before asking for help. This is a forum where the customers help each other. We don't get paid and we don't take any crap either.
  11. Even with tons of memory, Microsoft has always recommended a page file to be created. I used to remember the reason for this but had to use those brain cells for more important things.
  12. Also other drivers such as ASIO4ALL.sys will cause problems when used in conjunction with Line6 drivers.
  13. https://wikifixes.com/en/errors/0x/0x00000139/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwquTbBRCSARIsADzW88ziRVLryKSvfLWXOOVVMQBWPwMVVoPoNO7tkJgLTYQOb0tlCbKUELcaAp5YEALw_wcB This is some good reading about the problem you are having. However I would NOT download their repair software unless you are very sure it does not contain any malware or viruses.
  14. Do you have other sound drivers loaded such as ASIO4ALL.sys ?
  15. It seems to be hit or miss with digital artifacts. It worked for me but others had lots of unwanted noise when playing chords.
  16. Did you look in your C:\Users\<MyUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Line 6 folder ?
  17. If there's no hard drive failure than a Search in Windows File Explorer for *.hre should find them. I still don't understand what exactly happened. Sounds like you had them on your local drive AND an external backup drive. If that's the case then how in the hell did you blow away both copies ? What kind of crappy lollipop backup software would do that ?
  18. Sure you could use it for FX such as Distortion, Compression, Noise Gate, etc in front of the amp. Set it to Studio Direct out and pay attention to levels. You may even get some of the Pre Amp Models to work fairly good too. But that will take some tweaking.
  19. One of the biggest reasons for a dedicated recording computer is to stop all these updates, especially drivers, from happening automatically in the background. You need to get it working reliably then don't change anything unless you absolutely have to. Even little things like setting equal CPU for background processes instead of the default, can hurt how well your computer works while recording. When you're doing this everyday for a living you can't afford to take a chance on something acting strange or crashing. I agree with you duncann, most of us don't need a dedicated recording computer, but some do.
  20. There are quite a few people on here that do that level of recording. We don't know if that's something you'd do or not. If you're serious into recording then you should have a separate system dedicated to that. Or people like me who are in-between serious and hobbyist and have a nice computer with a nice audio interface for recording but still use it for everything else also. I could do 128 tracks but typically only do about a dozen. Just guitar can easily take 2 to 6 tracks with layering. Sounds like your computer is fine the way it is for what you want to do.
  21. I'm pretty sure there isn't a battery in the PODHD. Sounds like you're having a hardware malfunction. Time to call an authorized service center.
  22. Don't put your OS an an SSD. That's a waste of money. That only makes your computer boot quicker from a cold start. Allow your computer to go into sleep mode and it wakes up and is ready to go faster than it could boot from an SSD. Also there is so much memory cache in modern computers that the OS does not run any faster from a SSD than from your hard drive - because it's in cache memory which is faster than SSD memory. Running your OS from an SSD is now old school and not needed.
  23. I haven't bought a sound card in 20 years. On board sound is fine unless you're using Cubase or something for digital recording. Then you need to buy a specialized audio interface for that anyway - not a sound card. So the answer is "No, you don't need a sound card".
