This is just too easy.

And this shows how "short bus" special he is...

Simplicity is great. You don't have to use every option and gizmo inside the PODHD. As long as you're happy with the tone you're done. I have 4 presets and occasionally experiment around just for fun.

It's the same old crap. Linux is just an open source variant of Unix. I don't know how many times I've heard unix drones tell me about how great their version of unix is over everything else and it will soon take over the desktop. I've heard this for almost 30 years now. I don't think it's going to happen.

Well isn't that special.

You mean there isn't a ton of open source free Linux drivers for the PODHD out there with all the other open source free Linux drivers ??? Oh man I wanted everything for free. Hey about you and the other 4 people using Linux get together and write it yourself. Then with what you learn doing that, get a job and move out of your parent's basement. Yeah that was harsh but I'm sick of whining lollipop Linux users who think they going to crush Microsoft and Apple and take over the world because they're the only ones who have seen the light and the rest of us are idiot drones.

Can I please ask for a favour from POD HD500X owners?

Did you even read this thread ? -

The PODHD will be very close. Close enough that nobody will know the difference. You need to get over being so anal about the exact tone. It's not happening. I used to date a girl years ago and she told me she was very anal. I now know there are two meanings to that word. -

Guitar players can be a testy bunch...lol But we do try and help each other in between the insults and accusations :-) -

Here's a simplified analogy: If everything sounded the same on different equipment then nobody would ever need a Bass and Treble knob on their stereo system. Now take this about 1000 levels up from there trying to obtain a particular guitar tone and you'll see it takes time to build and adjust the settings to YOUR equipment. You can't just grab something and it works great unless everyone played the same guitar through the same amp and speakers with the same pickups. Even then your playing style will have an effect on tone. -
Can't stress enough about giving details about your equipment and setup. We have no clue what you have which can be ANYTHING from headphones, computer speakers, guitar amp, FRFR system, PA system and that's just the output side. Remember we're blind to what you have.

If you don't own a Line6 product why do you want to see and hear and preset for it ? You can hear plenty of tones from YouTube videos about Line6 products ? -
First thing you need to do is to make sure Input 1 is set to guitar and Input 2 is set to Variax. Also start with the output set at Studio/Direct. Now start twerking... ur, I mean tweaking tones. The problem with downloading tones is they will most likely have a different guitar/pickup and different amp/cab than you. This has a large influence on the tone.

4 cable method - Signal drops out when switching between patches
joel_brown replied to joeivory's topic in POD HD
You may be able to build a patch that has an amp model loaded but turned off then assign a footswitch to turn the amp model on/off when needed. That way it avoids the load time. -
If you decide to try the Logidy make sure to NOT send too high a signal to it. A lot of PODHD users thought it sucked. Turned out it was because the signal was too high between it and the Logidy. I bought one and sent it back. Then found all this out afterwards.

New power supply gets very hot, HD 500x continually restarts
joel_brown replied to SmooBG's topic in POD HD
At least on the PODHD Desktop, I've seen where some of them take 9vDC and some take 9vAC. The reason I know this is I bought a backup unit and noticed the power supply was slightly differant looking. When I check all the specs I saw one was AC and the other was DC. Fortunately the backup unit I ordered got damaged in shipping so I sent it back and got another that used the same power supply I had. Moral of the story: Always be 100% sure when connecting power supplies. Reading a few words can save you lots of time and money.- 12 replies

Lots of time and effort. Damn near returned the PODHD the first week. By the first month I was close. Took me about a year before I was finally happy. Ask questions. People here are very knowledgable and helpful.

The above post is extremely important. All of us have gone through this and it's Step 1 in creating a patch.

Reducing Res Level can help get rid of fizz. Also the Low Cut works well for reducing bass. These are under the Carb Parameters in the Amp Section.

That's like tuning your guitar without any strings. You can turn the knobs but nothing happens.
