Setting Effects On The Fbv Shortboard Mkii
TheRealZap replied to JackGraham132's topic in FBV Controllers (MKI / MKII / 3)
you have to hold down the button on the amp to save it, before changing. -
i've never tried it with riffworks, hopefully someone can chime in and advise you.
-
Yes, it will control your amp... its won't add anything... but it will control the features already built into your amp.
-
as long as its not the mobile in, err sonic port err.. mark III mobile gadget.... i think that'd be reinventing the turd though :D
-
they've re-worked the spider amps to include the rest of the parts:

by design.. up to... is supposed to conjure images of the best case scenario... in order to sell you something. (marketing) not more than... would be more like a specification describing a limit... and won't likely entice you to by anything. they are different, and perhaps nuanced to some degree... but there is a difference. if they really meant that you could use all 8 for anything... they would have just said "8 effects slots." and omitted "up to" altogether. -

TheRealZap replied to DeAllen's topic in POD HD
it doesn't say that it WILL do this: anywhere in the marketing.... it says UP TO.... your opinion is that the device SHOULD work as quoted... (and that would indeed be awesome.... just happens to not be the case.... or be the claim) clearly the device does not meet expectations... it seems the expectations are wrong... not the marketing. -

Dear All, you do realize this device came out 3 years ago, and this forum has had this same subject since that time. In all of twenty minutes in these forums you could have had the information available in which to make your informed purchasing decision. In short, all of your complaints will hopefully be factored into the next generation Pod, but this generation simply is what it is. Oh yeah... and be prepared to pay for that next generation pod, since it's not likely to just be an updated firmware. Sincerely, Reality. xxoo -

your argument is invalid... because it doesn't list any concrete claims that you state... that and the x model that you supposedly want for free, does not substantially change the capabilities... anyway... be mad if you must... the world is full of entitled people... you're not alone. -
Converting File Format I.e L6t File To .sve
TheRealZap replied to dannpritchard1's topic in Spider Valve
not possible, the tones would reference amps and effects models that are not available on your platform. -
do you mean topology IV on the DT amps? not sure what else you can mean... but that's just based on the original design of the amp... you can change it to whatever you want and save it.

TheRealZap replied to DeAllen's topic in POD HD
i don't understand why people don't "get it" you get MORE options with the pod HD they could have made it so you never saw the DSP limit... by lowering the quality of effects or limiting what you could put in each slot or being strict about the effects chain like the XT or X3 or other means... etc the only compromise they made was to let you make the compromises... rather than pre-determining those compromises for you and restricting your ability. you computer can only do limited things before performance is affected.... the pods are the same... only difference is you can't let performance be affected... because audio burps, glitches, latency etc... would render the device useless. you have to draw the line somewhere... and if you prefer those things done for you ala XT/X3 then that's an option for you.... in fact they did exactly this with the pods hd300 and hd400... nobody was buying them... -

He didn't speak much truth... just alot of opinion... every time the truth was presented, and he didn't like it... we'd get a 3 mile long post filled with personal attacks... he was also only an expert at declaring himself an expert.... -

Fbv Control Doesn't Do Any Changes!?
TheRealZap replied to warbeastNJ's topic in FBV Controllers (MKI / MKII / 3)
much depends on what you are trying to control.... a pc or a pod or an amp... although the above answer is likely the correct one. -

no way to install old models.... with tone being subjective, and metal/high gain not being my bag... .can't help you there.

Line 6 Should Offer Low Cost/free Upgrade From Hd To Hd-x
TheRealZap replied to DeAllen's topic in POD HD
first, let me be clear and obvious... you're never going to get a free upgrade to an entirely different hardware platform... software improvements perhaps... limit yourself to a single amp and you can probably use anything you want (probably... as in i aint testing it for you) CHOOSE to use dual amps etc... and you are limiting yourself. you have options. those options include adding pedals in the loop etc if that suits you.... the device does what it does... the "x" version is so very modestly improved in processing capability that in my opinion the only real reason to upgrade is if you desire the improved footswitches. sure the marketing may have been aggressive and hyped... but that's what marketing does... if you're unhappy with the 500... upgrading to a 500x will not make you happy... if you're overall happy with the 500, then you'd be modestly pleased with the meager benefits\improvements of the 500x. doesn't sounds like the original poster is all that happy with his 500... the conclusion here is obvious... but i'll let you all draw their own. -
the keyboard doesn't have any sounds.... and riffworks doesn't support VSTi's so unless there is some rewire option i've never tried... along with a host program for the keyboard... the immediate answer is no... perhaps another user has figured this out?

Logicpro X + Pod Hd Pro X, How Well Does It Work?
TheRealZap replied to TobiasBlack's topic in POD HD
i use the hd pro x with logic x on a near daily basis... no connectivity issues whatsoever. let me know if you have any other specific questions... but it's very straightforward, and no magic tricks.... -
Line 6 Should Offer Low Cost/free Upgrade From Hd To Hd-x
TheRealZap replied to DeAllen's topic in POD HD
the reason you didnt see "cpu overload" is because the previous pods had restrictions in place that wouldn't allow you to overload the cpu.... now with the HD and HDx models you can do whatever you want without restrictions up to the capabilities of the hardware... and you can do so with higher resolution models... sorry... to me it simply sounds like this is not the device for you... either HD or HDx, you need one of the older "nanny enabled" devices. -
"to begin with..." such an odd phrase coming from someone that hasn't been in this thread at all.. with no backstory or relevance to the topic that we can see... but yeah... sure... much easier to buy all your stuff NEW and register it yourself, rather than have multiple accounts... because you bought things USED... (as in line6 never saw a penny of your money....) obviously... it's just a small amount of effort, for the big bucks you clearly must have saved...
