it will work fine for most things.... there may be some buttons that don't do anything... but that's normal as the longboard has extra "vetta" oriented buttons. it will basically do everything the newer shortboard will do for controlling your amp itself... the newer floorboard adds usb and the ability to update the amp, and edit/save tones.. none of that works with the longboard... just FYI.

Is There An Alternative To Gearbox To Edit Pod X3?
TheRealZap replied to GazzaBloom's topic in POD X3
No. Just gearbox. -
problem is long corrected... if you want support, i suggest contacting support: http://line6.com/company/contact/
-
never heard anything like this, are you sure you are fully updated?
-
the m-audio interface has more robust musician geared drivers... most other midi interfaces use windows built in general drivers... that also is a pretty big difference, i do believe that the hardware itself is more reliable as well. it is worth getting.

noone knows. if anyone says they know, they are a dirty liar.
-
none. that's exactly it.
-
may not be the pod etc... i'd inspect the cable sockets... could be a bent pin on either end... something simple like that... usually happens on the variax side where a guitar plug was accidentally attempted to insert in the wrong jack.

If it's still on the website here it's still considered current. no announcement recently, but they did recently update the 500/pro to an "x" model. not sure if that has anything to do with it.

i don't think it's likely as you're asking for the amp to be something it isn't.... i also don't think it's impossible that they could do it... just unlikely... but here is where you need to post it: http://line6.ideascale.com/ if your idea gets some traction or catches the eye of the right guy at L6, you never know...

No, the controls are WYSIWYG.
-
in that case it steps down 120volts to 9 volts AC the previous posters are correct... the adapters are not interchangeable.
-
could be the cable try a standard cat5/cat6 network cable between the variax and the pod and see if that works.

you bought a hardware independent license. the license on the ilok is over-riding the license. you would need to remove the ilok, which may not be possible due to other licenses.... if thats the case, i suggest calling support or opening a ticket, and they might be able to help you get the correct license: http://line6.com/company/contact/

Podfarm Plug-in "next" Poll
TheRealZap replied to BigChas52's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
well... NAMM is in less than 2 weeks.... if they are going to do it any time soon, i'd assume they will announce it there. -
Adaptor To Split Vdi Cable
TheRealZap replied to ricky50's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
yes, although its not a standard AES/EBU stream, its proprietary, and includes the midi information for 2 way communication for pod/variax. i don't know any technical details... but that seems to be the gist of it. -
Vdi Cable And Battery Usage
TheRealZap replied to Goooner1's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD

Pod Hd300 Not Recognized, Installs As Unknown Device
TheRealZap replied to tomfrost's topic in POD HD
sometimes it's as simple as plugging into a different usb port, because if the device has never been plugged into that port before it will search and install the drivers again on its own. there is also the option of getting the standalone driver install as well, and installing them outside of monkey. http://line6.com/software/ -
yeah sorry... ableton was far from the only option.. just assumed that since it generally comes with.. it would be a good place to start. if you want easy try mixcraft http://www.acoustica.com/mixcraft/ , they offer a demo... 75$ if you want to own it. or if you want low cost/free try reaper http://reaper.fm they have a trial that never expires.... 40$ if you want to own it. again plenty of other options out there... these are just some of the better ones IMO that are low cost. i'd advise staying away from any open source 100% free software such as audacity or kristal, as they tend to not be 100% industry standard and compliant, and are reverse engineered as best as could be done most likely.

probably never... they are not standardized to the degree of apple devices, and there is not one for that... the hd pods are also about 3 years old... seems more likely they will have a new device with this capability than they would spend money adding this to an older device.
-
looks like the firmware or install is corrupt, i'd try reinstalling both. for the firmware in particular, i'd install and older version 1.7x first and then upgrade to 2.x for some reason this has worked for others.
