  1. You're WRONG. <--- that's a period. end debate. you can't prove something subjective. it's impossible, as its a matter of taste.
  2. line6 does support their software... you should try contacting them.... instead of "everyone online" http://line6.com/company/contact/ currently... you're basically calling the pizza place asking for an ambulance at this point....
  3. you were never going to hear anything here... as i stated in my previous post.... and as the press release concerning the yamaha purchase states, line6 will be a wholly owned subsidiary... for the time being nothing will change in normal day to day operations... in fact the deal is not even final until sometime in January 2014... in other words... read and follow my previous post, if you want to hear directly from line6.
  4. whatever license you get with the device will 100% belong to the device. pod farm 2.5 will depend on the date the device was originally registered, if it was after November 2009 it should be ok... OR if he bought the upgrade and gifts it to you.
  5. I don't think it's possible. check section 8.9: http://line6.com/store/returnpolicy/
  6. are you sure it wasn't a used device? if it has been registered before it would only qualify for the pod farm 1 license. it could well be issues with line6 servers as well.. i noticed a few people having similar issues.
  7. there seems to be alot of users with this issue, i suspect that the server on line6's side is having issues. best to give them a call, or wait a few days: http://line6.com/company/contact/
  8. you have register your equipment and run the license manager to authorize the device.
  9. judging from the other posts on the forum line6 servers are having issues perhaps... but you probably just don't understand the answer... because if you are clearly having the same issue... then the same answer clearly applies...
  10. not sure if this helps.. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/guitars/james-tyler-variax-guitars/james-tyler-variax-general-faq-r31
  11. protools 11 does not support vst, rtas, or au's so pod farm will not work as a plugin. if pod farm ever implements aax plugins for protools11, it will likely require at least a pod farm 2 license... or maybe even a pod farm 3 license if such a thing ever exist... basically saying that its incredibly unlikely that pod farm 1.x will support protools 11.
  12. if its the firmware i hope it gets fixed for you... if it's your guitars... i hope line6 makes it right for you... i'm not the enemy here... i'm just good at troubleshooting, and the firmware does not seem to be the likely issue.... (although nothing is impossible)
  13. if you mean workbench HD, it works on mavericks and i use it... if you mean variax workbench... the issue is a java update done by apple... you need to figure out how to restore the old version of java to your mavericks install... (which apple being a closed system, makes very hard to do) the old workbench software is unlikely to get updated.
  14. support does not actively monitor these forums.. and the user community does not know the answer for you..... hence the appearance of being ignored... in reality you are just pursuing an interaction with line6 the wrong way... if you want to ask them a question either call or open a support ticket: http://line6.com/company/contact/
  15. you can put the channel volume where you want it, and re-save the preset should be that simple. it still could be your midi interface... because the amp will update with only one midi port connected successfully. I'm fairly confident that 2way communication should work. I do recommend the m-audio UNO (and most importantly with the m-audio drivers installed!) other interfaces have worked of course it's not the only one... but has proven to be very reliable when others weren't working. i found the UNO to be one of those purchases that have been well worth it... when i really didn't think i'd use it much at all when i bought it.
  16. Hadn't really wanted to spend the cash on cubase, as i said it just wasn't a good experience for me... i'd try 7.5 as i like to know about them... but not in the mood to d/l the 2gb trial, and don't have any projects in mind that i can subject to the unknown. my experience with cubase is v6 and earlier.
  17. when you switch to a preset it goes to the saved value regardless of where the knob is... when you turn the knob it re-reads the position... so if the preset was stored at level "6" and you turn it to "8" from "10" the volume is now louder.
  18. its not a boost like you think it is... its a boost from the preamp to feed into the power amp it's not supposed to be user accessible. you need to use midi to change it for the standalone DT50 use... you'd have to figure out the midi switch to manually add it on the pod... but it's really not going to do what you want... your life will be much easier to accept that and simply use one of the other boost options... compresser, eq, od, etc
  19. can't dispute the high technical bar of steinberg... unfortunately the complicated setup, and windows 3.1 style GUI just kill my workflow... and i hate it. every other daw have managed to make things alot more intuative... even other ones that seem complicated at first... (hello ableton!) these days i'm using logic x on the mac and mixcraft on windows.... it always seems to come back to what you learned on... i learned on syntrillium cool edit pro initially... but they sold to adobe and went into a slumber... and didnt have the midi tools that i needed so i moved on... i still prefer that style gui though... cubase is probably a better evolution for someone that started with cakewalk or such... in my opinion anyway.
  20. red flag.. when you say 10.5.8 if your mac has a PPC processor it won't work.
  21. that's exactly why yamaha would want to buy line6 in my opinion... because line6 is good at what yamaha is not.... and yamaha has expertise in electronics manufacturing etc... that will probably help put line6 to the next level... and likely at a lower cost.... i'm also not sure what will ultimately happen... but looks like a good fit... yamaha's been in the PA market for years... and line6's one entry into the market slayed anything they've ever offered...
