  1. i wouldn't exactly say you missed it bob... haha
  2. service centers are independent... call a few and tell them you just want them to get you the part... many will say no.. but you only need one yes.... i assume you're open to a reasonable markup on the part itself (hey they are trying to make a living...) but i certainly understand when it comes to labor... sometimes it's dirt easy and i wouldn't want to pay either.
  3. your best bet is to contact support: http://line6.com/company/contact/ you can call or setup a support ticket from that link.
  4. i think the pocket pod would compliment your 2.0, but other than size and portability i don't think i'd call it a replacement. just my opinion.
  5. the older workbench software uses java (and to be clear the older variaxes will not use the newer workbench HD software) basically i would uninstall workbench, and ALL versions of java from your machine... reinstall workbench and let workbench install java for you. this has worked for some in the past.
  6. when you hit the limit you just contact line6 via phone or support ticket and they will reset it. no problem at all... just helps keep the "sharing" to a minimum.
  7. i think thats correct from a firmware perspective... but the workbench patches are universal.
  8. you can probably do pretty much what you want with one of those behringer midi foot controllers. i see them pretty regularly for 80-100$ on ebay/CL (assuming your amps have midi... i dont recall your specific amps) although i do believe space when he said he made it work... but i'm not terribly adventurous when it comes to putting my gear at risk... so i understand.
  9. I like to think of it as amp factory! because not only can you change the models, you can put together combo's that don't exist in the real world.
  10. did you call and ask for the parts department? or perhaps send in a service ticket? I know the US support would be able to get this info for you.
  11. call line6: http://line6.com/company/contact/ they'll point you in the right direction.
  12. you don't get minor delays when you for example open a web page? or open line6 monkey etc... it's just processing new settings and ceasing the processing of the old settings... it cannot process both simultaneously... so it has a small break during the change. they've made and will continue to make adjustments anywhere they can to minimize it... but complete elimination is not likely to ever be possible... at least not until a dual processor variax... and even then... people will want to run dual models! so you never know....
  13. having a faster processor will only help so much if you're processing more... i dont know what the marketing blurb is for the variax specifically... but the pod hd's had a similar difference between the pod x3's... being a processor upgrade etc... but the hd supposedly processed models with 10x the modeling DNA... (or some similar marketing phrase...) if the variax follows... that similar type of upgrade you have a 4x faster processor processing 10x greater code... all that said.. i've never had the issue or let the issue bother me to the extent of some others... i guess i just don't flip things around as much during songs...
  14. No the model packs will still be for sale and still be supported as part of pod farm.
  15. contact support: http://line6.com/company/contact/
  16. I think they are of his band, and self promotion is probably ok... just looks commercial because of the branded links to buy their music...
  17. just looked, it says that the FBV2 and FBV4 pedals are the only ones supported. for the most part i'd say that your friend was correct and that those additional features will not work on that amp.
  18. yeah, but if you're custom making them it's super simple to add whatever end... personally i think it'd be more cost effective to just carry a spare... although i do think that the upgraded cables are nice for the VDI... just don't think i'd go too far out of my way for the FBV cable... of course if it's worth it to you.... then by all means! :)
  19. I'd bet that this guy: http://line6.com/support/topic/958-cool-vdi-cable/ could probably make you something pretty durable.
  20. receive does delete what was temporarily affected by your changes with edit... it basically will bring the unaltered patch from the pod back to the edit program (UNDO might make more sense than delete)
  21. pretty much all of the SEND buttons.... you can send one... the setlist... or all....
