  1. not possible if your amp does not have a midi in... likely not possible if your amp did have a midi in... basically you can't control what midi the pod puts out... so it depends on your ability to tell the amp what to respond to.... or potentially use an intermediate translation device of some sort.... none of which applies here... sorry.
  2. yes... you lose all the benefits of a real ASIO driver... which include error correction against digital artifacts and synchronized audio inputs and outputs. ASIO4ALL emulates this by using reverse engineered software... whereas real ASIO drivers address the hardware to specific specifications. basically ASIO4ALL will not be true to the point of a proper ASIO driver (and any latency numbers etc are purely fabricated) will it work... sure... that's the idea... ASIO4ALL was created to work with cards that didn't have ASIO drivers... i do not recommend it if you have a proper manufacturer provided ASIO driver available.
  3. contact the original owner and have them gift the packs to you. there is no way for you to get them back yourself. you may need line6 support to help you get in touch with the original owner... i suggest you contact them soon: http://line6.com/company/contact/ free support for the XT ends January 1st.
  4. if your xt firmware is old enough, you would need to use a seperate midi interface to upgrade the firmware... i'm surprised that you have more than just the standard model packs without having the use of the usb ports... i think the usb is required to install the updated license for the model packs... not certain. my advice.... call line6: http://line6.com/company/contact/ do it very very soon! free support for the XT ends January 1st
  5. I'm sure they have the physical guitar factored into their models on a sort of global eq type scale, not sure that they would or could do anything to fight the physics of it... such as sustain and those sorts of things... but it's only my opinion, i don't think anyone knows the full answer outside of Line6 themselves.
  6. you're assuming that the correction made here is the same issue as the desktop model....
  7. that would be a rare bird i'm thinking... for me at least the looper is a great tool, and a nice addition... but not performance worthy... in fact i bought a boss rc300 for my looping needs.
  8. according to the manual: http://l6c.scdn.line6.net/data/6/0a060b316ac34f059357c410f/application/pdf/Spider%20II%20User%20Manual.pdf your amp will have "32 more channel memories" so you should have 8 banks of 4. i suggest you review the manual for your own knowledge on the amps features.
  9. the board doesn't have anything... you can access only whatever features that your amp has.
  10. because this fix basically had to do with the L6LINK which the desktop does not have.
  11. I've also heard of guys simply putting the cap off of a "chapstick" over the looper footswitch... but that and the rubber band trick you mention is pretty much the best solutions i've seen.
  12. Voted yes of course! although i'm not thinking its likely... surely probably a new acoustic or even a lefty would jump in front of it in line... but of course would be just as happy to be wrong about that....
  13. Didn't mean anything by it... other than i don't have edit open when using the pedal.. and have not experienced the issue... i suspect that many others are like me as well... but by all means i encourage you to get the ticket and get them to resolve the issue. for me this issue is a non-issue... for you it's a huge issue... trust me i get it.. just adding my scenario to the mix so that others can decide if this would be an issue for them... no offense intended or implied....
  14. here's the support ticket. http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html i've never heard of or experienced this issue... because i don't use an expression pedal with edit, or even understand why anyone would! but by all means submit it and get that fixed.
  15. you can download gearbox from the downloads link at the top right of this page. you would need to contact ableton for the ableton key... should be as simple as logging into ableton.com if you registered it.
  16. do a quick search for 4 cable method (4cm for short) you'll find tons of info.
  17. if you are going into the DT amp via the effects loop then you would be bypassing all the preamp controls and features including the reverb i suspect... i have not tried this myself though... but makes perfect sense to me.

  19. edit has nothing to do with pedal calibration or flash installs... I'm not aware of any issues with edit on any modern operating system....
  20. i cant imagine not having that mount that silver linked too... its great... i put a mic stand clamp on my desk and have it clamped to the desk, taking no real estate... also work on a mic stand by itself too... or propped up under the handle on the amp etc... they should come with it.
  21. not really.. all those type effects are monophonic, and very tricky to control... IMO
  22. no reason to be sorry, was a legit and welcome question... sometimes these things just go off the rails on their own.... in any case no fault of yours.
  23. late to the party... but a quick reset shall you need it... is to pinch the topo switch down and the pentode switch up while powering on, hold while lights flash, you should be able to tell when to release. this will of course lose any of the topo settings you changed etc and restore the amp to its defaults.
