  1. actually if you updated the DT to 2.0 you can probably just dig into the midi guide on there and program the topo into one of your FS's might work... haven't tried.
  2. yeah mankes sense you are right... the topo is stored with the amp settings... so no amp=no settings. oops.
  3. you need to save the patch again after you switch to the topo... and it well automatically switch to that... at least that will get you some movement... not seen a patch for the acoustics through a DT that makes everyone happy yet.

i like mine on.... but only because i use it in a studio setting primarily, and it's a quick bypass to throw on the tuner if i'm running a keyboard or something else into the input.
  5. you likely need to adjust buffer size in sys pref, to help with the crackle... but you need pod farm 1 (2.x is not a free upgrade) but yes... toneport and pod studio are different... primarily the licenses though... hardware is the same as far as i know... other than redface/blackface difference.
  6. the looper is simply mono... that's why. not likely to change, as it may reduce the time available for the looper, or put a higher strain on processing capabilities.
  7. No harm at all, if that's what you want to do. I just don't see much benefit... and i hate having extra speakers or changing them all the time personally... you could probably get some sort of A/B switch to make it less painful... but it will work.
  8. not harmful... but you'd need to change where the speakers are plugged, in, or have 2 sets you can't use one device as the input and the other as the output.
  9. yes model packs/purchases will work after the upgrade.

when the tuner is engaged there is an option on the screen to bypass/mute, turn the knob that controls this option.
  11. possibly... i say possibly because you CAN do it... but you have to have the DSP available for both amps. much more effective to just copy the same tone to the next preset and change the amp/re-save. but if you want to try and set it up.... you'd basically save the tone with one amp disabled, and then select the same footswitch to enable/disable both amps...
  12. you have to use the line6 ASIO driver, and you can change inputs in the control panel of windows there is a line6 audio midi control panel.
  13. it's in stock and available... always 100$ the power supply itself is 30$ its just a pricey item.
  14. i think you're correct, and that's what i was trying to say.... didn't realize that you wanted to alt tune 2 octaves up.
  15. if you want simple, and good... i suggest mixcraft. it's known as garageband for windows, pretty much keeping pace and feel with apple's garageband. http://acoustica.com/mixcraft/ free trial as well...
  16. did you install the latest workbench from the website, not the CD version? you also need to have the volume turned up and the guitar powered... should see 2 green lights on the workbench interface.
  17. i use a tascam us1800... then i'm able to send the dry in via SPDIF and also record my wet tracks analog... also has the I/O to setup re-amping if i wanted... don't tend to do that much overall... but i do like the options... its just in my case i'm currently more concerned about roughing in some tunes than producing a finished product... i am archiving the dry tracks just in case though. :)
  18. you don't have to get platinum you already have the model packs... all you need is the standard upgrade, which will be the same as platinum as long as you're using the UX8 as your interface (the model packs are tied to the hardware) you would want platinum if you want to use all the model packs with ANY other interface... but you can always just pick up the model packs separately later if you find yourself in that position.
  19. platinum is just pod farm + all the model packs. there is no free upgrade to pod farm 2 on second hand units... your UX2 probably has a pod farm 2 license, and the UX8 is being looked at first (and it does not have a license) so you are having an authorization conflict. i'd just remove the UX2, and use the UX8 you'll need to use pod farm 1 or get a pod farm 2 license.
  20. oh yeah... the whole 2.0 update makes it into a little amp factory... that's the fun of it! i think it was on more models than the AC30... in fact i think it wasn't engaged on the AC30 and should have been (by default) which was fixed in the 2.0 update.
  21. again if it matters that much to you make some exchanges or whatever with the retailer and get one you're happy with. I just think we're making a big deal out of something that has not had an impact on the operation of the unit. that's my opinion... and i included it here for a little balance... you obviously have a different opinion and stated it here as well. it's perfectly within your rights to have it exchanged or repaired while under warranty and i'd encourage you to do so... but to frame this as some sort of epic fail is just ridiculous.. (again in my unpaid, unofficial, private, personal opinion) i don't understand why you haven't just got your replacement and moved on... noone official at line6 will respond to this forum post... and if you're trying to prompt a response... pursue this other venue: http://line6.com/company/contact/
  22. pod farm 1 was replaced by pod farm2, they don't sell pod farm 1, so there is no incentive for them to upgrade the plugins... that's like saying they need a 64 bit version of adobe reader 8.. its old.. and no longer maintained... also... its your DAW that limits 32bit plugins not line6. there is no plugin version of the HD pods, and no USB re-amping capability... you would probably need to create a bus in your DAW and send the audio through it to be reprocessed... and FYI, it's not natively possible with the POD HD's to send both wet/dry over USB. you can build a tone as a workaround to send the dry out the left channel and process the right. honestly with this particular issue being your concern... you really just need to get the pod farm 2 upgrade to be a happy camper.
