  1. the solution is plug in an x3... noone said it was a cheap solution.... besides the effects are all completely different and sound completely different.... the cheap solution is to use your ears and get started.
  2. its almost comical to see someone that owns all those great amps, cry for digital models... just saying....
  3. just to save some people some digging: POD HD500 Flash Memory v2.2 RELEASE NOTES POD HD500 Flash Memory v2.2 is a FREE firmware update for all POD HD500 users. Before updating your firmware it is strongly recommended that you connect to the POD HD500 Edit application and back up any presets you may wish to keep so you may install the latest factory presets as part of the firmware update. What’s New? • Significant improvement to the integration of StageSource speakers and DT amplifiers connected via L6 LINK • Master knob on the POD now attenuates the level sent to connected L6 LINK devices* • POD output mode defaults to Studio/Direct when connecting StageSource speakers • StageSource speakers default to Reference (FRFR) mode** • Preset switching optimizations • StageSource speakers no longer mute upon preset switching unless the speaker mode differs • Output of the Looper (in the post position) no longer mutes upon preset switching • Pressing the Reverse switch while using the Looper's Overdub feature no longer causes audible artifacts • General bug fixes and optimizations * Previous firmware versions had no attenuation at the output to L6 LINK connected devices - for the same results simply turn the Master knob to maximum ** Note that any previously saved presets will retain any StageSource speaker modes that were set at the time the POD presets were saved Known Issues • When mixing both StageSource speakers and DT amplifiers over L6 LINK, DT amps must be connected before any StageSource speakers for audio to pass through to all L6 LINK connected devices • Variax Workbench HD will not connect via POD HD - use the VDI/USB interface included with your JTV as a workaround FAQ For more information about POD HD500, the FAQ can be found here Advanced Users Guide The latest version of the Advanced User's Guide for the POD HD500 can be found here
  4. my understanding is it just addresses volume issues, and stagesource\DT\L6LINK fixes. don't know anything more specific.
  5. yes it will work: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/effects/fbv-mki-mkii-controllers/the-complete-line-6-pedal-compatibility-faq-r58

  8. this is not the same issue.... your issue is you have pre selected in the looper when you need post selected.
  9. you need to change the looper to post, sounds like it's in pre mode.
  10. i know, trust me! i've always just balanced it with the volume controls in other apps... such as youtube, itunes, etc... always worked like this for me.
  11. you have to use "get" instead of "put" and then use the save command in the pulldown menu
  12. no model packs... the pickings are extremely thin for bass users on any of the pod HD models... i think that an x3 might be a better investment currently... since you'd have all the familiar xt stuff, with dual tone possibilities... comes with all the expansions etc.... just an idea if you can find a deal on used... if you get a pod HD... they are nice and all... but you'll be limited bass wise. wouldn't be a huge deal for me, as i tend to dial in one or two bass tones and go from there... but if you use the xt to its potential that's probably not going to work for you.
  13. you should probably open a ticket with support to followup... not sure any user can give you an accurate answer.
  14. most likely a different guitar... because i believe that they rent them or borrow them to model... i'm certain that it is a whole new model created with a whole new process.. it does not surprise me that it would sound different... one would hope better.. but we're talking subjectives here... between the models as is, and workbench HD... you have loads of tonal options. i preferred my 335 with the LP pups personally...
  15. generally... though you can open a ticket with support and they can clean that up for you on their end.
  16. its not the inputs there... in the control panel you can define what physical input is used... it is always either input one or input two...
  17. someone did update the poster: ozbadman i believe. anyway this ought to clear up some confusion.
  18. if you have a pod farm 2 license, you can still use the model packs with that... pretty useful for post tweaks. the purchased model packs are in your account, so you can use them later on if you don't have the license now as well. welcome to the forums, i'm sure you'll enjoy that 500x.
  19. actually you can easily change out the pickups to humbuckers on the semi's, i rather like them with the LP pickups, i uploaded a few examples to the vguitar forums sharing area (pinned at top of jtv forum)
  20. the semi's are models of completely different guitars (depending on which one you are referring to...) some of the new models are based on p90 guitars now... also the tele 2/4 position should be radically different... based on a custom/deluxe/thinline type model with the fender wide range buckers... (pretty awesome IMO) for 2.0 they didn't simply create HD models of the same guitars... they made HD models. (of mostly same-ish guitars)
  21. your info is on the right track... i would just mention that the 12ax7's are NOT preamp tubes... preamps are entirely modeled! both DT amps have a 12ax7 as an inverter, and the additional 12ax7 in the 50 is a boost. the boost is solid state in the 25.
