  1. i cant personally confirm from experience... but my understanding has been that the bean form factor istelf has been unchanged, so it should in theory work fine. i do know that the original pod xt stand still works with the pod hd desktop... so that leads me to believe that they are the same shell.

if you are going into the effects return... sometimes you have to plug a cable into the effects send to get it to turn on.
  3. code 10 is a windows issue. have you tried other usb ports? as a troubleshooting test try another computer... .if you get the same issue there, then the pod is the issue. if it works on the other machine, then your computer is the issue... which sounds likely but not definitive.
  4. best to do a quick web search and get the original power supply... very common search for line6 PX2
  5. Yes. it's actually a little more versatile because it has a switch for line or instrument level and can be a stereo input as well.
  6. the old models don't work on the new pods... and those models weren't modeled for the new pods... the amps on the current pods have NOTHING to do with what was done on the old pods.... and i'm sure they had plenty of requests for other models.... not sure why you think your 3 old favorites need to be a priority or why crying about their absence in this thread makes sense to you... but ok! maybe it will happen at some point...
  7. i fail to see why you are so against an update that is clearly and simply not for you.... maybe it will be your turn next time little johnny... til then play nice.
  8. I fail to see how ranting douchebaggery is going to change the equation.

can you format it from the spider jam? (i dont have one)
  10. not every idea is going to be implemented into their current (as in released in 2010) pods.... i'm 100% positive that the ideascale content will be highly considered in their research and development of new products... likely with many things being trickled down into the current products... but it all takes time....
  11. It's obvious that they are investing heavily in the live gear..... the fact that they thought enough of current line6 users to make this stuff more usable for us is a good thing... not a bad thing... the investment in this upgrade for the pods likely came from the live gear side and not the pod side... meaning we're lucky they gave it any consideration... it's not a bad update... just not terribly useful to some... i'm sure the pod side of the house is still working and that we'll see something from them at some point. **disclaimer... this is my opinion... i don't claim this as fact as its not based on any inside information... just seems pretty obvious to me.
  12. right you are... September 2007: http://line6.com/press/releases/609
  13. the tone does not bring in the authors global settings... his output could be studio direct, or stack, combo, etc... no avoid adding anything from the amp itself... in fact its best if you can go directly into the effects return on your amp... bypassing all the controls on your amp itself.
  14. The items are still viable and fixable once this takes effect. This is just limiting the free support available and acknowledging that no future software support will be added (which we already knew in 100% of the cases here anyway). Is not stating that they will no longer carry parts or support service centers. it's been quite a few years since even the newest items in this list were released... i believe the x3 was released in 2004. (correction=2007)
  15. i was bracing for it... and expected much the same.. as its done that to me before when power cycling. i did turn off the audio apps though... may have had chrome open... but for certain closed logic x, and made sure i didnt have edit open etc.
  16. the person that created the patch probably had a different guitar... a different amp... different strings... different pod settings... different technique... etc those downloads are ALWAYS just a starting point... no magic... i suggest tweaking the one that sounds closest to what you want and get the rest of the way there with your ears.
  17. my mavericks update to the pro x was flawless and fast. sounds like you had a gremlin.... or i had incredible luck (which never really happens....)
  18. loads of metal bands in the 80's used a JC120... including metallica.... what are you talking about? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_Jazz_Chorus i do understand what you mean... just think that was a poor example.
  19. that depends on the amp not on the floorboard, so you might want to check your amp manual.
  20. then it must be DT50 YEEEEES~! haha got my 50 before the 25's came out... i'm sure you'll love either.
  21. i find myself editing on the unit more than the edit program... that's just because of the pro being mounted right in front of me in the studio desk... with the 500 i used the computer editing program more... some things on the unit are obviously buried a bit more because of the limited info on the screen. i'd agree that the edit program will make it easier to find some things and to see their relationship.... mostly i'd say download some custom tone files and check out what others have done...
  22. there's not really a 2.0 issue as you describe (it has some quirks that need corrected, tone quality isn't on of them) it's subjective... if you have specific patches using the current firmware be prepared to hate it while you reconfigure those patches. however.... if you simply want a better sounding guitar... i'd say 2.0 is a win... that's my opinion is that 2.0 is dramatically better... others will disagree.. but it's all opinion.
  23. you could fit a whole strat neck if it doesn't fit natively. too little payout for the cash in my opinion... but looks like it would be awesome.
  24. i've seen this issue with satellite internet connections, but i'm sure that's not the only cause.
  25. The secret to the JCM800 model, revolves around getting the master volume (in the deep edit parameters) right. I don't use it much, but i do remember figuring that out. the actual amp models are up over 20 now, i wanna say 23-24. the one model i want more than any other is a JC-120. closest to that now is the SLO clean. (IMO)
