  1. I actually pay for the itunes match service, so nearly all my non-itunes purchases get matched in the cloud. I had to create a second itunes library to do it, and be somewhat selective... because itunes match is limited to 25k songs and i had closer to 60k but i have alot of obscure stuff and bootlegs etc... so i mostly just loaded it up with studio stuff. anyway, might just solve the issue. (which i cant confirm or deny... just adding to the conversation here)
  2. you might need a power conditioner for the rehearsal space... i can't explain it... but i have seen others have issues at gigs with shoddy power.
  3. they do not sell parts to the general public, contact a service center: http://line6.com/find/service_center/ they can get the parts for you. they are all independent and many will ship... so if one won't work for you contact another.
  4. contact a support center: http://line6.com/find/service_center/ they should be able to get the parts for you.
  5. I cant defend the marketing as i pretty much agree that it was overboard... but you're just being silly if you think that the same chip that powered the x3 would be the same cost as one that powers the HD not to mention the fact that the x3 is alot more capable with alot less DSP... would not surprise me if the DSP in the amplifi is even slower than the actual one used in the x3, since it doesn't have to support streaming over usb for recording and separate outs for the various I/O options, among many other things that the x3 does that this doesn't. disagree all you want... but engineering things to a specific pricepoint with a specific profit margin is common practice... not to mention, they aren't exactly targeting the audiophile, tone hound demographic here... this is not for someone chasing elusive tones... quite the opposite... this is for someone that just wants tone hand delivered to them.... and to do that they needed a large pool of tones... far more xt/x3/pod farm tones to draw from than hd300/400 tones.
  6. pretty sure that remains to be seen... i suspect it will work, but can't confirm.
  7. yes will work no problem, if your board doesnt have the usb on the back (only the FBVMKII models do) then you can't update the amp or edit on the pc... but you can fully control the amp with your pedal.
  8. i haven't heard that it would support dual tones for certain... but i'm pretty sure that it will use customtone for tones.. meanings x3 and pod farm tones should work.
  9. just the standard version of 2.5 should work for you. the model packs will be dependent on the UX8 being plugged in, so only the standard pod farm would be hardware independent. other than that... its the same license that you need.
  10. I was only suggesting that i would like to try it... not suggesting that anyone buy it based on that as its intended use. The use of the XT era sound models does not surprise me... its likely to accommodate slower\lower priced DSP chips, higher capabilities... and to make certain pricepoints feasible. this is bedroom warrior gear... or simply a practice utility... it's obvious to everyone... even those that are disappointed... that this is what it is.... not what we would have liked perhaps...
  11. yes, you would have to find the x3 used through ebay for example. the HD pods have replaced them... but they are not compatible with the tones you want to use. They can be used as a soundcard/interface.
  12. 1. No 2. perhaps to a degree... different amps and different sounds... i dont think you'd find it practical. 3. the 500 is primarily limited by DSP, so it depends on what effects you select... however there is a limit of 8 regardless of DSP as well. you would be much closer to pod farm by seeking out a pod x3 live... it has the same sounds as pod farm.

  14. they have the upgrade for 199$ its kind of buried: http://line6.com/store/downloads/podfarm?cart_action=add_item&store_items_id=191&method=purchase platinum is standard + all the model packs so you can of course just buy the model packs if you need it in smaller chunks still.
  15. this worked for some users.... To remove driver 7.3.6 1- On a terminal run this command sudo pkgutil --forget com.line6.driver.xtaudio.package (enter) 2- Then this sudo pkgutil --forget com.line6.driver.xtmidi.package (enter) 3- Reboot To install driver 7.2.9 4- Downloaded driver version 7.2.9 http://line6.com/sof...a.html?rid=5675 5- Run the 7.2.9 driver package to install it and ended the process with a reboot
  16. You might have a defective unit, have you tried it on another machine?
  17. the reason androids get passed over for much of these musician goodies is the lack of standardization on the connections, specifically audio related... but the implementation can vary widely too based on the OEM of the device and their decisions regarding the android OS.... this being a total bluetooth app.... goes around all those limitations.. i think we'll see an android app relatively quickly. at least that's my opinion.
  18. I believe they plan an android app later this year, I have not heard of a PC editing option.

  20. you might launch monkey, select the firmware and "reinstall latest" it sounds like your firmware is possibly corrupted.
  21. you can use the pod HD 500 instead of the interface (you dont have to buy that at all if you have a variax enabled pod) you cannot use the workbench HD software with the older variaxes. you would have to use the standard variax workbench software (whatever the version number is now... just NO to any HD version of the software)
  22. no... tight loose etc... is the amp topology without the pre-amp setting... (meaning selecting those options is different than selecting I-IV on the amp itself) DT customizer basically turns it into an amp factory.. you use a modeled pre-amp and you can setup the amp characteristics how ever you want.
  23. 1. yes will work no problem. 2. yes you would need the interface to use the software. 3. i assume that you mean the XPS footswitch that powers the variax.
  24. yeah you wouldnt hear anything on the app... but if you can see it... you might be able to dial in the settings to your pod... which is kind of useful since you previously couldnt view x-series tones in an "offline" manner (offline as in hardware unplugged)
  25. could probably take the stereo out from the pod into one... could be kind of awesome... practically a Vetta III so to speak... not a direct integration... but if i get my hands on one... i think it'd be worth a try.
