  1. reaper is the same price as tracktion 60$ and mixcraft comes in only a hair higher than that at 75$ all 3 are priced nicely... i used to be a big ableton fan... but was getting buried in the upgrade costs... because like you, i thought it was getting crazy... like 400$ for the software... ouch.
  2. another great one... when using windows... mixcraft pro studio is the top of my list as well.
  3. i used to love tracktion 3 that everyone hated... then it got bought and went into purgotory... got re-acquired by the original guys and got a modest update at 4... and this is the first i'm hearing about 5... have to check it out... loving logic x these days!
  4. which would kill your eardrums! hahha thats why i put high gains in one channel and low gains in another... the knob positions are more similar and more manageable. although it is still a 2 channel amp either way...
  5. Pro tools 10+ should work with any ASIO compliant device, meaning the UX2 should be compatible.
  6. 1. NO. its always just a 2 channel amp. you can configure your topologies seperately in each... but 8 channel implies that you can save more settings. you can make it more useful by grouping your logain in channel A and higain in channel B, or similar... because the topo selection will react wildly different to the knob positions if you do not. you are correct that these topologies can be customized. 2. with a pod its more "like" a 512 channel amp! haha.... the channels on the DT makes no difference when using line6link. the amp will revert to channel B if you select no amp on the pod. (you will lose any post effects as the audio goes one direction) the settings are all part of the preset, so the knobs will not physically matter... HOWEVER you can edit the setting from the DT and re-save the preset on the pod if you wish. 3. radatats explained this one simple enough... of course there is always the get 2 DT amps workaround :D
  7. depends on placement as well... if you have a mono effect after it (noisegate or anything), it will no longer be stereo. at least that's normally the case... not tried with an amplifi personally.
  8. They are no longer doing any x3 development... if unlocking tone2 as stated above doesn't work for you... you will have to figure out the issue or provide more details... there is no fix coming.
  9. no opinion involved unless i'm misunderstanding you.. i simply restated the facts. i highly suggest that you pursue this with your local law enforcement... if they want to approach line6 at some point, they can surely do that. line6 never got any of your money, and never offered you any product... that was all done by the site in question... they are the ones that offered you line6 branded merchandise and took your money.
  10. Obviously a language barrier here... in the simplest of terms you bought a FAKE product from a website. That website was not related to Line6. The website fraudulently claims to sell Line6 merchandise. Sorry this has happened to you, but at no point was Line6 a part of this transaction. They are just the brand you thought you were buying.

    Hd Pro X . ?

I moved it to the correct area.... it's still considered a pod HD. no word on future updates, but i suspect that there will be some at some point.
  12. if you had adopted that philosophy when apple dropped support for the PPC processors, then the x3 would still work with your windows computer.... seriously though... the drivers stayed the same... apple changed... so lets blame the drivers... ok that makes sense. /sarcasm.
  13. it's probably a setting on your expression pedal... remove it entirely and all setting assigned to it.. and try again.
  14. Line6 is also a victim of counterfeit goods.... sorry but you're going to need to pursue this with the seller or your local police.
  15. perhaps you missed the announcement... support for the X3 is ending... you should probably get used to the old drivers and workarounds etc.. or simply stop updating your mac.... because they are not likely to spend any time correcting issues with devices in which they no longer support.
  16. They 100% do read what gets posted to ideascale, it's pretty much the same as the old product feedback site, except the ideas are public and community ranked... you aren't going to see any progress on them until they are ready to release an update or a new product... you either want your voice in the mix or you don't... they aren't going to single out and praise individual ideas... they are going to turn the ideas into something we can use. (this is where you tell them the weak points etc... they really do want to know... ) i i have close to 30 guitars myself, but no longer have any with active pickups... just not my thing... i never disputed your complaints... just said they don't affect or matter to me... i use palm muting alot for a percussive attack, and do not particularly use just the variax, with so many other options available... but i find it well enough for my needs. is it the best palm muting ever? probably not.. but thats such a minor aspect of what i do.. and those small nuances get buried in the mix anyway. just my perspective... not sure they will ever they (or anyone really) will ever invent one guitar to replace them all for me... i like different things about different ones, and they all inspire different as well... so even with the ultimate variax... i'd still want other guitars.
  17. The funny thing is... i don't have any of the issues you listed.. or any of your concerns.... doesn't make your concerns any less real or any less valid... just goes to show... that not all share your perspective. EQ is maybe awkward and not standard... but in 3+ years i've learned to deal with it as is. (not a big EQ user, and if i do its generally in recording's post performance) I apparently don't load the front of my hd500 because i've never had the slightest issue... don't own a g30... could care less about a power switch (in fact they were problematic on the XT/X3 models and many needed replaced after warranty=$$$) My variax sounds fine for palm muting (JTV59) if you seriously want support for any "real" issues... (as in not grief with the design or implementation) open a support ticket. if you just want them to change things to your liking... (probably in a next gen device since they arent likely to recall and retrofit power switches) i suggest you spend more time posting on http://line6.ideascale.com/ because that's where the product managers are going to go for insight.
  18. you need a dynamic mic with the UX1, if you have a condesor mic it wont work. that and of course.. you probably ought to look over the input selection.
  19. you would use an insert cable from the 2-1/4" out on your XT, to the 1-1/8" in on the amp. your source is still a single guitar... (mono) but you would get stereo by the effects you chose on the xt.
  20. 1. from the sounds of things it has all the model packs ALA x3 already in there (unconfirmed) 2. free 3. agree, the full range box and tweeters will surely help. yes you could do that with any amp... BUT... not all amps are stereo, and full range... it would work more like a portable PA system in my opinion.
  21. other than possibly adapting the line in to accept the out of the XT, there's no other integration that i'm aware of.
  22. No, but if you buy a pod farm 2 license it will work hardware independent. I think you would also need to buy the power pack to have the standard XT models.
