  1. the app would possibly show you the tone setup and give you ideas to try on your pod... just wouldnt be 100% perfect... might be a decent ballpark setting to start you with....
  2. first review is in: http://www.loopinsight.com/2014/01/23/line-6-amplifi-guitar-amp-and-ipad-app/?utm_source=loopinsight.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+loopinsight%2FKqJb+(The+Loop)&utm_content=FeedBurner
  3. the amplifi app controls the amplifi amp..... does not do anything for sound... so it will not be useful for sonicport users.
  4. I've used many pods as an interface with only minor adjustments... (hd bean, hd300, hd500, and hdprox) i use it alot with another interface via SPDIF just to capture the dry as well as the wet... since logic pro x came out i've not been spending alot of time with other DAW's but reaper is a nice one for sure. just make sure you have the audio interface set to core audio, and the same hardware selected for input and output... should be mostly that easy. when i say mostly... that means that you should probably set your sound to the same in syspref as well just to get your mac sounds too... but its not required.
  5. you need to set the pod to be your soundcard, and all your sounds will play through it. if using a mac and a novice, i highly recommend that you start with garageband which is now a free app in the store. reaper is great and powerful... yes... garageband is simple and easy... yet still effective.
  6. not feasible at all... the amp models are all new on the HD's so they sound and react very differently than the older x series. plus the amplifi app will not process sound.. you'd need the amplifi hardware to even audition what you had created.
  7. your device isn't showing in the license manager... i'd try reinstalling the drivers or changing usb ports.
  8. the amplifi app controls the amp.. .and has no sound capabilities of its own.... the answer is no.
  9. only usb side had a green light, VDI side was red, until i switched to a different cable.
  10. the hd500, and regular pro.... and desktop model will still get the same updates as the hd-x models.
  11. I just saw this too! http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ApolloTwinD/ man that's a hot looking interface.
  12. I think we can drop the maybe. :D i mean it looks like a totally cool device... (love the looks!) and i may even pick one up... my gripe is that it didn't align with the marketing...
  13. a little odd to me that they show a kid playing this thing live in their official video:http://line6.com/amplifi/ just seems like such a niche practice device....
  14. the x3 amps wouldn't surprise me... many of the current standalone amp models use pod 2.0 models... so the x series models would be a jump up.
  15. for alot of us surely... i think that's where their marketing really fails... quite simply i don't think this is for us, anymore than last years mixer stuff was... rather than "reinventing the guitar amp" it should have been "reinventing the way you learn" or something... since it clearly seems to be for those that want to play along with the tracks.... i'd say this is more like a new spider jam, than anything that reinvents for the gigging/recording musician.
  16. I agree at this point... I would like to see what it can do though... #marketingfail
  17. Don't think its intended to be integrated anywhere... it's its own thing.
  18. links... but kind of dead with small pics: http://www.thomann.de/gb/line6_amplifi_150.htm http://www.thomann.de/gb/line6_amplifi_75.htm i didnt see anything that said HD amp models... http://www.woodbrass.com/en/product_info.php?currency=GBP&products_id=165468&af=477&?currency=GBP&af=477&source=webgains&siteid=87697
  19. this worked for another guy on the forum: To remove driver 7.3.6 1- On a terminal run this command sudo pkgutil --forget com.line6.driver.xtaudio.package (enter) 2- Then this sudo pkgutil --forget com.line6.driver.xtmidi.package (enter) 3- Reboot To install driver 7.2.9 4- Downloaded driver version 7.2.9 http://line6.com/sof...a.html?rid=5675 5- Run the 7.2.9 driver package to install it and ended the process with a reboot
  20. not really all that crazy... the spiders use different technology and has different capabilities.... just like you cant load mac software on a windows machine...
  21. Yes, no official web platform, but there is an unofficial page pinned at the top of the forum.
  22. not possible to transfer to ilok... however if you bought pod farm 2.x and all the model packs separately you should be able to use the license manager and authorize them to your computer hardware independent. note though... if you didnt in fact buy them separately and they were included with the x3 then you cant do this... since the x3 owns those packs and licenses and it must be plugged in.
  23. yes, spider IV edit (you have to have one of the FBV MKII pedals though!)
  24. Anyone see this? http://missionengineering.com/?product_cat=geminiamps looks like mission is coming out with FRFR guitar cabs Mission Gemini™ Series Full Range Amplified Guitar Cabinets with EmPower™ Technology January 22nd, 2014 - Mission Engineering Inc. (www.missionengineering.com), manufacturer of innovative electronic products for musicians, are proud to announce a new range of ground breaking amplified guitar cabinets designed for optimal performance with today’s digital modeling processors. The Mission Gemini™ Series with EmPower™ Technology is the missing link in the world of digital modeling processors and software based guitar systems. Gemini combines state of the art digital amplification and interfaces that connect to almost any device, wired or wireless, with beautiful handcrafted wood cabinets that provide the look and feel of boutique tube amps. Mission EmPower Technology features multi-channel class D power amplifiers, active crossovers with variable EQ, and full range co-axial drivers, all designed from the ground up to work together as the perfect amplification solution for modeling systems. Traditional pro-audio connectors such as ¼†jack and XLR are joined by 24bit, 192KHz high speed USB and Class 2 stereo Bluetooth wireless interfaces to connect Gemini amps directly with software based guitar systems on computers, tablets and smartphones as well as dedicated guitar processors. EmPower EQ control allows blending between a flat and a more traditional guitar cab frequency response. “The big step was not just to create state of the art technology, but to integrate it into something beautiful and reliable that guitar players would feel at home with. Mission partnered with master cabinet maker Anthony Bonadio of Stage Craft to design and hand craft these cabs and heads, so they look and feel for all the world like high end boutique tube amps, yet you can connect up your laptop to them, or stream to them wirelessly from across the stage with your iPhone. I think that’s pretty cool†- Mission CEO, James Lebihan. Mission Gemini amps will be available in 1x12†mono, 2x10†stereo and 19†rack mount versions. Compatible rack mount head units for processors such as Fractal Audio Axe-Fx™, Avid® Eleven Rack, Kemper Profiling Amp and Line 6 Pod® HD Pro will also be available. Shipping is expected to begin at the end of February 2014 from the Mission web store at www.missionengineering.com and approved distributors. Pricing TBA. Mission Amplifiers and cabinets are 100% designed and manufactured in the USA.
