if you paid for pod farm 2.... pod farm 2.5 is a free upgrade and it's hardware indepedent... you dont need an ilok, you just need to run the line6 license manager (part of monkey) and authorize your computer. if however, you didnt pay pay for pod farm 2 (as in it was included in your toneport) the toneport owns the license and not you. you will however still own any addons... but you would need to buy a seperate pod farm 2.5 license to use them without the toneport. the direct answer to your question though is NO... you cannot move these licenses to an ilok.

I've not had any issues running VSTi's I've not ranny anything notable though... mostly just the out of the box stuff that's included in the pro studio package. as well as ezdrummer/superiordrummer.

I've tried nearly all of them at one time or another... landed on Cool Edit Pro (AKA adobe audition) for a long time, until i outgrew the limited midi.. and of course adobe bought the, and they simply didn't update forever... anyway had to move along... still gravitate towards the ones that offer a similar feel... which is alot of them. Well my latest experience with cubase was version 6. still the same clunky interface, and a horrific setup just to get started... i have to dig for everything... because unless you're familiar, the buttons aren't always obvious or marked. i get that this is the company that put together ASIO and VST which are in pretty much all of them... but damn their interface is frustrating and they don't seem to bring any extras to the table to make it worth that frustration for me. especially with so many other options available.

if we had a poll of the worst.... this would be my number 3.... right behind audacity and kristal but its all about what you learn first... for the most part.

you need 9VAC power not DC power like a i spot. which may work.. but may also permanently damage your device... look for a PX1

a minor note on doing thing.... you wont get any of your post effects this way.... audio travels one way...

midi is not audio... so you can't use that connection... you'll need a separate microphone.

My thoughts are that it is surely possible, in some way or another... if you can do a bigbsy surely. my second thought is that there is no reason and it would just be ugly... but that's subjective... for sure the wraparound looking current bring isn't the most beautiful thing either... i just think that the risk outweigh any potential benefits by a huge margin. if you had a spare body/neck to experiment on it may not be that bad... i know there are surely some transplant guys that have the parts... but even then... i doubt it would be worth the effort. prove me wrong though... i dare you! hahah :) love seeing the mods that forum users come up with.

they are the exact same thing processor and model wise... form factor is different... and a few different input output options. not a whole lot for the money... but if you need the form factor....

try holding it right.... when the safe screen comes up, reflash with monkey.

reaper is a good one... i'd still recommend trying the mixcraft demo... because its so easy... made my workflow a little faster. tracktion is nice, but its a completely different workflow. (and great if you learn it!)

it does not have a dedicated dry out, unless you go from the SPDIF into another interface. you can however, work your tones to create a dry signal. (dry right, wet left for example) not even the new 500x or pro-x have a dedicated dry usb stream... both alot more expensive than what we're talking.

hold the direction key on the pod to the left then plug it in. this should break the loop.

for the recording option you requested and the screamer/eq request sounds like you'd probably like the x3. however... if you can deal with the trade off's the HD has better sound quality... we all have our budgets certainly.... but you'd probably be much happier saving up for a used HD500.

you dont have to buy it.. it just has to reside physically on your phone... meaning it wont tone match streaming music... or a music library that's in the cloud... you can get mp3's or music files from anywhere... the files just have to be on the phone for tone matching to work.
