they dropped support for gearbox PLUGIN (big distinction) because it was replaced by pod farm. they gave you the plugin for free with the X3 which wasnt part of the XT to replace the reamping capability. if you pay to upgrade to pod farm 2.x the plugin has a x64 version (you only have to get the standard upgrade) and to be fair... the exclusion of 32 bit plugin capability is a DAW decision... not a choice that line6 made. and No, the HD pods will not address these. have you tried changing the setting referenced in this post: http://line6.com/support/topic/1239-gearbox-issue-does-not-change-pod-xt-live-settings/?hl=%2Bmidi+%2Bgearbox&do=findComment&comment=23807 not sure it will address your issue... but the pod farm 2.5 upgrade DOES respond to midi, that's part of the upgraded functionality.

exactly how robust would a knob that gets used in that manner be? i mean it has nothing to do with performance... the unit is rack mounted in a studio desk or backline and it's just not something that gets used aggressively in the least... if its that big of a deal to you, then it's that big of a deal to you... i just disagree, and cannot relate to your outrage at all... could it be better or different? sure... couldn't everything?

Ebay Horror Story, Can This Be Fixed?
TheRealZap replied to tramer76's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
it can be fixed.... usually just glue clamps and then the pretty work... a competent luthier would make it nearly un-noticeable. but wont likely be your problem if you insured it... they tend to give you a check and take the item. -
you can even do it with the 89 manually since it has 24 frets (the 24th fret would tune you a full octave from standard tuning)

No Sound Keyboard Pod Studio Kb37
TheRealZap replied to jaff123's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
you don't need a second cable.. you need to add a new midi track to ableton... then add a virtual instrument to that track. you may have to go into ableton preferences as well and select the kb37 as the midi device.- 5 replies

that boost is really for the internal amp/preamp interaction, and not really supposed to be accessed as a "boost" effect it was always there and was setup as on/off based on the real amp/model that was selected.

No Sound Keyboard Pod Studio Kb37
TheRealZap replied to jaff123's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
the kb37 will never create sounds on its own... you need the usb connected, drivers installed, and a daw opened with an armed midi track with a virtual instrument enabled. and of course the speakers need plugged into the kb37 (not into your computer)- 5 replies

Using Ux-1 And Pod Hd Bean On The Same Mac
TheRealZap replied to robmlisanti's topic in Line 6 Lounge
you can have the usb connected without using the usb audio stream... so you can do both... probably much easier and effectively just getting an A/B switch for the keyboard+pod.. or simply swapping them as needed. -
you need the FBV, the floor pod plus cannot be used as a controller.
-
really?! i have the pro x... and i don't get the complaints... the button works fine... that and i'm far more willing to accept that you might have a lower quality usb cable... move on if that's what you need to do.... but damn silly thing to get worked up about... in my personal opinion. (which does not represent any official line6 opinion on the matter)

you cant do anything more on the amp itself with the update... you need a midi connection and other midi tools. there are some applications pinned to the forum that should make it easy. the settings are sticky... use the app pick amp/settings... change topo do it again... I would also say that you can certainly get 99% of the same sound using L6Link the update is great for opening up standalone options... but the integration is worthwhile...

Can The Midi Mobilizer Ii Be Used To Send Commands To The Dt50 Head.
TheRealZap replied to Brazzy's topic in MIDI Mobilizer
customizer will not even install on the old ipad, but touchosc works. -
will only change between the presets... but it does add... wah... volume pedal... and tuner capabilities to the amp.

Can The Midi Mobilizer Ii Be Used To Send Commands To The Dt50 Head.
TheRealZap replied to Brazzy's topic in MIDI Mobilizer
if i think about it i'll give it a try later today. I have an ipad 1 and an ipad 3. you can always use touchosc if you need to, pretty sure i used that on the older ipad. i think its like a 4.99 app though, capable of more... if that interests you... i'm all about the simple though. -
Pod Farm Free Components Only Showing Up
TheRealZap replied to davedelizza's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
yeah i got in on the same deal... was 35$ to upgrade when PF2 came out. unfortunately the official rules say that you can only transfer full price licenses... honestly i'd just keep it! (don't think it would add to the used price anyway) because pod farm 2 (2.5 and later free upgrade) works independent of hardware... so you can keep it even if you get another interface. (the model packs however are tied to the x3 so you'd be keeping "standard" which is more amps and effects than free at least) just tell the new owners to use pod farm 1... they still get all the models etc... its not that much of a downgrade... you may be able to call support and ask for a transfer exception if you really want to pass it along.. i can't say if they'd grant it... but worth asking. -
Pod Farm Free Components Only Showing Up
TheRealZap replied to davedelizza's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
if you got it when it came out there is zero chance that you have a free pod farm 2 license... it's possible you paid for it at a later date i suppose. you can have 1 and 2 installed at the same time.. so at the very least i'd install 1 and see if you couldn't use it to move your project along. -
Using Ux-1 And Pod Hd Bean On The Same Mac
TheRealZap replied to robmlisanti's topic in Line 6 Lounge
yes, you'd just need to move monitors appropriately. it would be easier just to go analog into the UX1 when needed honestly... keeping it simple. i doubt there would be a significant difference in tonal quality. you might consider getting the hd pro, since it will give you input options to simply take completely over and lose the ux1. (yeah i know its more money... so it may not be an attractive option) -

TheRealZap replied to davedelizza's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
having an x3 means you for sure have access to pod farm 1 not 2... with all the models... (and thats plugin only... standalone does not work) 2 was free on very few x3 units depends on when you bought it and registered it... if you bought it used then there was no chance of pod farm 2 being free. if you think you have a license for 2, use the license manager, login and authorize the unit or computer. -
Pod Xt Live Problem...
TheRealZap replied to brenocunha's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
when this happened to mine it was dead. needed a new motherboard... i put the money towards a new unit... the price of a motherboard and the labor to replace were more than a used unit. (and yes you need an authorized service center to replace it, because of the security chip and transfer procedure its not a simple swap.) -

Bass Amps For Sonic Port And Mobile Pod
TheRealZap replied to flopster12000's topic in Sonic Port devices / Mobile In
the x3 series did not use model packs it came with them all of the xt model packs installed from the factory... meaning you either have an xt with the model packs... or you have an x3 with no model packs... you cannot use the factory installed model packs without using the x3... doesn't apply to what you're trying to do anyway as the model packs are not compatible with the sonic port... no idea what line6 plans to do in the future... might try requesting it here and see if you can get some traction: http://line6.ideascale.com/ -
Vote For A Lefty James Tyler Variax
TheRealZap replied to Amperzand's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
I don't see it as in progress, but i do recall a public reply from someone internal to L6 that said they nearly had one model ready to go for lefties... want to say a 59.... if i recall that led to complaints that some wanted a 69 lefty... etc... you can't please everyone, i guess... i think this was a ways back on the old forums... don't think i'm imagining it... but i can't cite any specifics... so ... take it as a rumour.- 52 replies

Annoying "rattle" On 12 String Settings
TheRealZap replied to roxrob's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
it was importing the models from your guitar into workbench HD for possible editing... does that even with just the factory models. -
the effects loop is stereo, you just need to use an insert cable in the return.
