The Helix doesn't have a Bluetooth transmitter/receiver built in. The amount of raw data in a Helix preset is like 10 times as much as an AMPLIFi preset, so it would make any sort of BT syncing painfully slow.

No good deed goes unpunished, I guess... Line 6 simply doesn't control the warranty policy in the other countries that the Helix is sold in... I think part of it is probably that Line 6 signed distribution contracts with the different entities that handle distribution in those places, and those contracts probably had terms covering the warranty period. So Line 6 can't really just go back to all those people and say, "we're changing those terms". In reality, much of world already has stricter regulations governing warranties than the US, so it probably is a moot point in most cases.

If you're talking about having an iPad editor, I would say that's not out of the question... Beyond that, you could currently control basically whatever ever you want on the Helix with an iPad via a MIDI control. The Helix is a class compliant MIDI over USB device, so it will work with whatever MIDI apps you want to use with it. I guess the thing is, though, that using your hands to control stuff on an iPad while playing guitar is really not all that easy. I've used the iPad app for the Behringer X32 system to control my mix for my IEM, and it is kind of a pain in the butt. Using your feet or the tone and volume knobs on the Variax is much, much easier than trying to hit things on the iPad.

Yes, it comes with a thin protectIve film on the scribble strips. It' can be a little hard to see.

You have something set up incorrectly if you're hearing the unprocessed sound along with the processed sound... Plenty of people here are willing to try to help you out, so I don't understand the hostility.

First thing to do is go to Global Settings > MIDI/Tempo, and on page 2 of that menu chagnge the MIDI PC Send setting to "Off" if you haven't... (although, it sounds like this isn't necessarily causing you problems). I guess I'm a little unclear why you're wanting to go the CC route. Changing presets via PCs on the Strymon pedals will be so much simpler. I use both the BigSky and the Mobius with my Helix, each in its own loop, and I change presets per snapshot all the time, and it works perfect. I do have a few presets where I control specific parameters on the Mobius with a CC assigned to one of the Helix's expression pedals. But trying to control the Strymon's footswitch via CC seems kind of clunky.

Yep... That's what I'm doing.

Are you using a different interface when you use Native? If you send the same dry track, as in a dry recorded exactly the same way, to Native and to the hardware, there should be no difference.
-
You have to turn monitoring on for the track your using. I've never used Cubase before, so I couldn't tell you where that is, but that's what you should look for.
-
What version of Reaper? I've been using Reaper with Native for two months now (I was a beta tester), and have never had it crash... You're using the 64-bit version, right? I don't think Native would actually show up anywhere on the 32-bit version.
-
There aren't any controller assignments that you can do on the hardware that you can't do in the editor, so I'm not sure what you're referring to exactly when you mention editing functions.
-
Does it distort regardless of where you have the volume knob on the bass?
-
It won't show up as an application or executable anywhere. Installing the plug-in just places .dll file for the plug-in in your plug-in folder (or wherever you tell it to go). When you open your DAW, it should show up as an available effect plug-in.
-
Where does it say that? You just have to sign into your Line 6 account to download presets from CustomTone... You don't have to own any product whatsoever.
-
The issue with the dry track sounds like some setting in your DAW... What DAW are you using, btw?
-
You just have to have the Helix registered to your account. You do that online: https://line6.com/account/registergear/
-
You don't need to run License Manager (it doesn't actually support Helix). You just need to open up your DAW, insert an instance of Native, and when you first run it, you see a screen where you can sign into your Line 6 account.
-
You don't need to do anything special. They should just match. If you record a dry track from the Helix and then insert an instance of Native on that track and use the same preset on the hardware and in Native, it will sound exactly the same. The wildcard in all of it going to be your input and your interface. Most interfaces don't have a variable input Z circuit like the Helix has, so that can definitely cause a difference.

They are at this link: http://line6.com/allure/

You can have it installed on up to 4 computers.
-
Well that's not typical... On my Windows 10 machine with much less impressive specs than your Mac (i7, 16gb of RAM), one instance of Native will occasionally cause the CPU meter to hit 3% in Reaper... On Facebook, I think one guy had like 16 instances running at once. So I don't know what's causing the high CPU usage on your machine. I would suggest opening a support ticket.

Native is available in 64 bit only.
-
Are you using the 64-bit version of Cubase?

Well, there's a lot of overlap with Fractal's models, but, hey, if you want over 200 amp models, just buy a Fractal product. I don't think Line 6 has the same sort of goals as far as the sheer number of amp models for the Helix. As far as Kemper, that's a different ballgame. With profiling, there's really no limit to number of available profiles since they can be user-created. Each product has different philosophies as to what they're doing, and they're all doing their own thing, as they should. It's actually better that way. What good would it be if they were all copying each other? How boring would that be?

The Helix team's energy has been focused on Native, in case you missed it... :) Not at the end of updates by any means. New stuff coming relatively soon.
