If you go under Preferences>Audio Device in Reaper, there's a button that says ASIO Settings or something like that. That should open up the dialog box for your interface. Basically latency is a function of your interface, and each one behaves differently depending on its driver. You need to mess with the buffer settings. Some interfaces give you a choice of latency options such as "safe", "reliable", etc. What interface are you using?

I'm wondering if the fact that you installed both the VST2 and VST3 versions might not be causing a problem. Technically, it shouldn't matter, but it might be worth uninstalling one of them. I have only ever used the VST3 version in Reaper.

There are factory presets that should load in the Factory 1 and Factory 2 setlists. If for some reason they didn't load, click on the Helix Native logo at the bottom of the GUI to get to the global settings menu. There's a button there that says "Reload Factory Setlists". That should get them to show up.

Hmm... I've been using Native in Reaper ever since the beta began, and have never had it crash. I'm using Windows 10, though. When does it crash? When you try inserting it as an effect?

The issue with the noise and effects isn't because of the loops themselves. It really only shows up if you put an OD/distortion pedal in front of an amp model, specifically, some of the models with higher noise floors. It's just that any additional noise from the pedal itself is being amplified slightly in the A/D conversion process and then that is being amplified by the amp model itself. If you put loops after the amp model, they are pretty much dead quiet.

The sample rate setting only affects the AES/EBU output. It doesn't change the internal processing or output at any of the analog outputs at all.

I don't believe there's anything to download. The model packs should show up in the license manager after you log into your account.

Global Settings>Displays, Knob 1 "LED Ring Brightness" will do what you want to do in Stomp Mode, but I'm not entirely sure if it effects snapshots or not. This thread seems to indicate it did, although there was a bug with the way it worked. I don't know if it was addressed or not.

On many of the delays, there is a parameter called "Scale". If you have that at anything other than 100, it will create a secondary delay effect with the timing being whatever percentage the scale parameter is set to. So, say for instance, you had the scale parameter set to 75 and you had the delay time set to a quarter note. You would get a secondary delay at a dotted eighth note timing (.75 of a 1/4 note = three 1/16th notes, or a dotted eighth).

I must be missing something... Why not just use the CC Toggle command?

I try to avoid using headphones as much as possible. I really just hate the experience of playing electric guitar and using them. When I do use them, it would pretty much only be for monitoring for the purpose of hearing myself, so I guess having them be a completely accurate representation of the tone doesn't really matter.

If you're still using a 32-bit operating system in 2017 you're a bad person and should feel bad... :D

If you were hitting the switch while you're barefooted, and the capacative touch feature was on, the settings for the block assigned to that switch would pop up on the screen. That's because touching the footswitch (not stomping on it) brings that screen up. Otherwise, no, that screen doesn't become active when you step on the switch.

It definitely sums to mono when you only use the left XLR or 1/4" output. Here's a post where DI, the product manager, confirms it... http://line6.com/support/topic/14264-helix-faq/page-18?do=findComment&comment=110167

It hasn't been released yet... They jumped the gun on that one for some reason.

I believe it works identically for whichever one you use, but I can't say I've ever tested it.

I think the Helix is great as a pedalboard replacement in front of a clean tube amp. I've used it like that quite a lot. There's really not much else in the market that can really compete with it right now. With snapshots and the four effects loop, it's kind of like having a 4-loop switching system in addition to having all the on-board Helix effects.

If you only use one of the XLR or 1/4" outs, the signal is automatically summed to mono. There is no global control for pan other than that.

Well, the Helix delays are phenomenal, imo. I don't think you're really giving up much, if anything compared to many of the dedicated super-delays out there. For the record, I've owned or currently still own the following - Strymon El Capistan, DIG, & Timeline; Source Audio Nemesis, Boss DD-500, Empress Echosystem. I mean, there are some quirky models on some of those delays, but as the staples, I think Helix does those just as well or better. Here's some my more ambient tracks: https://soundcloud.com/phil-miller-20/ac15-tele-tape-delay https://soundcloud.com/phil-miller-20/dmm-and-bassman https://soundcloud.com/phil-miller-20/ac15-tape-oddity https://soundcloud.com/phil-miller-20/no-longer-strangers As far as the reverbs, it's no secret that the reverbs in the Helix right now are based on the M-series/HD reverbs. They are completely useable still, imo, but they aren't necessarily designed to be what the Strymon BigSky does... So I'd say we've yet to hear HX-class reverbs form the Helix, and I suspect when we do, it will silence a lot of the reverb critics.

Helix Rack, Helix Control, Toe Switch as momentary switch?
phil_m replied to Woodlandsu35's topic in Helix
Well, I did a little research, and the switch on the Mission Engineering SP1-L6H is actually a momentary TS (not sure if it's N/O or N/C - guessing N/O), so I guess it would be possible to make that input switchable between momentary and latching in the software. -
I don't expect the HD500X to go away anytime too soon... There have been price drops in EU on all sorts of Line 6 gear from what I understand, and that's because of Yamaha Europe's decision to do so. The HD500X is still available pretty much everywhere in the US for the same price its been.

The Shuriken hasn't been deleted from the website... Not sure where you're getting that. http://line6.com/variax-modeling-guitars/shuriken/ It does look like if you click the Products link at the top of the forum part of the page, the Shuriken link is missing. But it shows up everywhere else.

Helix Rack, Helix Control, Toe Switch as momentary switch?
phil_m replied to Woodlandsu35's topic in Helix
If you are using your expression pedals for those two things already, I don't see how having the toe switch available for momentary would help you. You still have to actually move the expression pedal to use the toe switch, so you would activate those auto-engage functions anyway. -
Copyright applies to creative works, generally not T-shirt designs... The Line 6 logo and the Helix name, however, are trademarks, so that's where you could run into trouble.
