  1. It's just a standard USB cable. Like this: http://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-Hi-Speed-USB-2-0-Cable/dp/B001MSU1HG/ref=lp_464394_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1373983540&sr=1-15
  2. I don't know the timeframe, but it is probably sooner than later... not that helps. But as I said before, I can say in confidence that the HD models will impress people. You can read between the lines as to what that means... :)
  3. The project isn't scrapped. I can't share more details than that. But I can assure the HD update will be here, and I think that once people play the new models, they will be very happy with them.
  4. Got ya... You're still limited to 8 effects and 2 amps. The biggest thing the extra DSP will allow you to do is to actually have dual amp tone and still have some DSP intensive effects with it. Currently, you can't do much in the way of dual amps and complex effects. But I agree with you. I'd like to have more effects blocks as well. I don't know if 16 would be doable, but it would be nice to have 12.
  5. Based on Line 6's stance on spillover for the last ten years or so - my prediction...
  6. Early marketing material said twice as much processing power. I have no reason to believe that isn't true. But whatever it is, the HD500X's processor is more powerful than the HD500's.
  7. If you have the stereo RCA cable, all you'd need is a pair of these: http://www.amazon.com/Hosa-Cable-GPR101-Inch-Adaptor/dp/B000068O3S
  8. Does the back of the one speaker look like this? If it does, and you want to use the RCA connection along with the UX2's 1/4" outs, you have to get two 1/4" cables (one for left and one for right) and two1/4" to RCA adapters. Or, as I mentioned earlier, you could get a stereo RCA cable with red and white ends and get adapters for the one side to go to the UX2 1/4" outs' The way the Behringer speakers work is that one speaker is powered and the other speaker is passive, or unpowered. The unpowered speaker gets its signal and power from the little RCA cable coming from the back of the powered speaker going to it. So you just plug all the inputs into the powered speaker.
  9. Pretty sweet... What kind of board is that? I like the look of it. Do you have a case?
  10. I don't believe the Behringer speakers have an actual SPDIF input. I don't think the connection between the two speakers is SPDIF, either. I think's it's just an analog speaker cable to take the powered signal to the speaker that doesn't have the power cord attached to it. The cable Behringer uses just happen to look like an SPDIF cable. To connect the UX2 to your speakers, you'll need to use the 1/4" outs or the headphone outs. If you use the headphone out, you could do it with one TRS cable. The UX2's headphone is 1/4" and the speakers' TRS input is 1/8" so you need to get a cable with the correct ends and/or adapter to make that work. If you use the UX2's 1/4" outs, you could use regular 1/4" cables with 1/4" to RCA adapters at the end. Or you could use a stereo RCA cable with RCA to 1/4" adapters. There are few different ways to skin the cat.
  11. It's 12V DC, 1000mA (that's what the adapter is rated, have no idea about the actual draw), center positive
  12. OK, but it's not relevant... That's clearly the 59... We're talking about the 69. :)
  13. Here you go... This is what the tuners on the US version look like:
  14. Toneman, those look like the tuners on the JTV59US model. The ones on the 69 are similar, but they have a thumbscrew for the locking tuner part. ClevisB, if you special ordered your guitar, perhaps you do have the US version. It costs like more than twice the Korean model, so I don't think you could exactly order it by accident. But assuming you do have the US model, you should be able to turn the little disc on the tuner to unlock them. You should be able to just turn it by hand.
  15. The US model tuners are open so you can see the tuning gears (I have the US model). But you still don't need a screwdriver to unlock them. Did you buy the guitar used? I wonder if someone put different tuners on the guitar.
  16. This is the only good image of the JTV-69 tuners I could find, but you should be able to turn the round part on back of the tuners. You should be able to do it by hand. You shouldn't need a screwdriver. Do your tuners look like this?
  17. +1 to toneman... You just have to loosen the thumbscrew on the underside of the tuner to release the string. The nice thing about locking tuners is that it makes string changes a snap. You don't have to worry about having the string wrap around the tuning post. Just run the string through the hole in the post, pull it tight, tighten the thumbscrew, and tune to pitch. You're good to go then.
  18. What output mode are you in? If you're playing through a PA, you'd want to make sure you're in Studio Direct. Other than that, I'd say that there's not really any guarantee that tones you download from the Custom Tone will work for you. Anyone can put tones up there, and the tones were created using a specific guitar, pickups, output system, etc. If you play through the factory presets or tones you've created on the HD500, do they sound OK?
  19. Do you have both inputs for your tone set to Aux? If you have the stereo delay as the first effect in your chain, you have to make sure you're sending it two inputs.
  20. What I said above is just my own personal opinion. I have no inside knowledge of what Line 6 plans to do. I'm just speaking from what I observe. I just imagine that if plotted out sales of modeling/multi-fx units on a graph with price on the x-axis and number of sales on the y-axis, that the distribution would be something very close to the ubiquitous bell curve/normal distribution, and it would be centered on the $500 price point. I also imagine that the drop-off in sales is quite steep past that. So companies have to ask themselves whether or not it's worth the extra investment in R&D, capital investment, etc. to go after the part of the curve above that price point. Since virtually no one makes anything around the $1,000, I'm assuming the answer companies come up with is "no". That's all I'm saying.
  21. Are you actually using a USB hub? Those historically have not worked well with Line 6 stuff.
  22. What competitors? If I had to venture to guess, I'd imagine they're still outselling all their competitors. Perhaps no one has noticed, but most of the mainstream companies seem to have moved on from investing a lot of R&D and money into amp modeling. Sure there are companies like Fractal and Kemper that do their thing, and there are people who are interested in that, but I think right now amp modeling in and of itself is almost sort of a dirty word to the mainstream guitar market. I think that's why Line 6 paired the HD stuff with the DT amps - a tube amp. Tube amps haven't really decreased in popularity in the last 10 year. If anything, that segment of the market has grown. There are so many low wattage tube amps on the market compared to 10 years ago, it's crazy. I just think the reason you don't see the same sort of hype around amp modeling in the overall market is that what guitarists want is different now.
  23. Actually, it's been out since 2010. It was announced in September 2010, and was available for purchase almost right away. I got mine in October 2010. So it's been almost three years, which if you consider the typical life-cycle of electronics, that's getting up there. I actually think that the HD stuff has probably been a pretty solid release for Line 6. It has been nearly bug-free from the start. There have been a few minor things, butt overall, it seems like a stable platform for them. I think the release of the HD500X actually probably points to that. I do hope that with the additional horsepower available now that they use that as a launching pad for some new software changes.

    Hd500x?

Are you talking about this picture? Looks like 8 effect blocks to me... Are you sure you weren't counting the looper. I actually wish they did have more effects blocks, too. Perhaps that's something that can be added now that there's more processing power.

    Hd500x?

Actually, it's probably more analogous to upgrading the chipset in a computer - going from an i3 to and i7 or something like that. The DSP portion of it is an upgrade of raw processing power.
