  1. How does an effect actually become outdated? The Edge still uses the Korg SDD-3000 delays in his rack, and those were originally released in 1983. There are of the core effects in the M-series that I think are really good. It would be nice to see some additions, I suppose.
  2. Is it possible the battery in your guitar needs changed?
  3. So are you experiencing latency through your sound system? I find it kind of hard to believe that the latency through your receiver would be noticeable even though you are going through extra A/D and D/A conversions. I suppose it is possible that your receiver introduces noticeable latency. If that's the case, I'm not sure what the best route is. Does your receiver have some sort of digital effect component that you can turn off?
  4. Nope, no problem. Just do whatever you think sounds best.

    Hd500x?

The problem with turning the looper block on and off is that the way that it's set up is that it exists outside of the preset. So even if there was some way you could turn it off globally to free up DSP resources, it could cause problems with presets that were near the DSP limit when it was turned back on. I actually would be surprised if the looper used much in the way of DSP resources, though. It's not really doing anything that would be processor intensive.
  6. Some people have used the M13 along with the RJM Amp Gizmo to change channels on their amps. Some other amps with MIDI inputs have a "learn" feature that allow you to set what PC message change channels on the amp. I don't know enough about the 5150 to say for sure.
  7. +1 to what Octo777 said... I can't imagine Line 6 intended for the speakers to be left in the bag while in use.
  8. Well, if the charger LED wasn't flashing when you removed the battery, it would indicate that the battery isn't charging.
  9. f I were to guess, in this situation, I would suspect a faulty battery first over something being wrong with the guitar. Was the LED on the battery charger flashing when you removed the battery? I believe he's talking about the battery indicator LEDs on the back of the guitar. There are four small LEDs that indicate how much charge is left.
  10. The Bean and the Pro are the same processor, so there's really no difference in the sounds you can get from them. The Pro does give you the effects loop which may or may not matter to you, and it gives additional I/O options, including a Variax VDI input. So it really depends on what form factor you like, and what ins and outs you need.
  11. What did the service center say they did with your guitar? Did they re-wire the pickups?
  12. There isn't any sort of battery in the PODxt or any of the PODs, for that matter. All the memory in these units is EPROM based, so there's no need for a battery. So something else is causing your unit to not power up.
  13. The tuners on all Line 6 products are chromatic, so as long as you're using A440 as your reference pitch, you don't need to adjust anything on the tuner itself to lower the tuning of your guitar. Just use tuner to tune the strings to the note you want them at. For example, if you want to tune a step down, tune your E string to D, your A string to G, etc.
  14. 2.10 is the latest version... Where are you seeing 2.21?
  15. Ha, yeah, I imagine those would sell pretty quickly! I wouldn't be holding my breath on that happening, though. My bet is that the 89 simply isn't selling nearly as well now that the 89F is available. But $700 for the 89 is a crazy-good price, imo. If someone likes the body style, I would think it would be hard to pass it up.
  16. Well, heat is the enemy of electronics. Generally, though, there shouldn't be a problem with using this stuff outdoors. How hot did it get? Were you on pavement? I kind of wonder if you didn't experience some sort of power surge that fired your power supply. Just because you were outside when it happened doesn't mean that the issue you had was directly related to the fact that you were outside.
  17. I would say, it's probably worth taking it or sending it to a service center to at least have it looked at. It could be something relatively minor. Perhaps you popped a fuse at the X3L's power input.
  18. The power amp setting on the DT-25 (topology, class, pentode/triode) defaults to match whatever amp you have in path A when you first select that amp, but they can be set to whatever you want them to be. If you put an amp model in path B, the power amp setting on the DT-25 won't match the amp you bring up (well it might not - you could use an amp model with similar defaults), but it's still being sent through the DT-25's power amp. So you're essentially blending two preamps signals to send through one power amp. You have to decide how you want the power amp configured. If you want the DT-25 to completely ignore Path B, you'd have to set that in the L6 link settings page. Under the audio portion, you can select what you want sent to each DT-25 - it can be the left and right output (this is default), Amp A, Amp B, or Amp A/B. With just one DT-25, you're probably OK just leaving it left and right, but everything you put in the tone will show up at the DT-25.
  19. You'd probably want to stick with using the PRE models for the amp in path B as well as in A. What you're doing is essentially sending everything from the left and right outputs of the POD to the DT25. The DT-25's power section can only be set to one configuration at a time, though, so you have to choose which one sounds best with what you're doing.

    Rms?

Do you mean the RMS rating of the speakers in the cab? I believe the Vintage 30 is rated at 60W. If Celestion's naming convention holds, the rating of the G12H90 would be 90W.
  21. Are both your power supplies rated at 2000mA? There have been two versions of the PX-2. The earlier one was rated at 1200mA, and the newer one is rated at 2000mA.
  22. Sure it would work, but whether or not it would sound good is another question. It depends on what effects and/or guitar you're using, and whether or not you have amp modeling in your signal chain. P.S. - I moved this thread from the Lounge to this forum for you, just so everyone could benefit from it.
  23. Nope... That won't work either. Sending the preamp signal from your amp direct to the board would likely sound, well, not very good. Essentially, when you choose to use the 4-cable method, you're limiting what you can do with the M13's signal splitting capabilities. Micing your amp is still probably the best thing you can do. I'd say if the distance between the mic and grille is what's causing problems, you might want to look into the Sennheiser E609. You can drape it over the front of your amp, and it's very low profile. It essentially doesn't take up any room on stage.
  24. I'm saying the signal going to the Pocket POD will contain audio from your amp's preamp, and because of that, the Pocket POD will most likely not sound the way you want it to.
  25. It depends on what effects you use after the loop, but you'll most like run into an issue. The thing that you'll run into is that most of the effects on the M13 aren't true stereo. Even though they take a stereo input, they sum the input, process the signal, and then output a stereo signal. So the signal from the DeVille's preamp will be sent to the Pocket POD. In other words, you won't maintain a stereo split throughout your rig. If you could ditch the 4-cable method on the nights you need to go direct, you could plug the Pocket POD into the M13's right output, and you could do what you want to do. But if you're depending on the DeVille for you distortion, that might not be an option.
