  1. I had the strangest thing happening to me today. I went to my band rehearsal and after playing for about 30 minutes the display screen kept jumping from the signal chain to the knob display as if I was a adjust a knob on the HD500X. I'm connected to my DT25 via the L6 link and my JTV via the VDI cable. I had previously been using this set up with my HD500 for at least a year and had no issue. I even used this same setup and cords 3 weeks ago without issue. If I disconnect the L6 link it's fine (of course I have no sound though.) When I the screen changes it actually shows that he Mid has been turned all the way up. I can move it back and then when the screen flashes it has moved back to 99%. This happens across the board on the patches. I even swapped out cords and same thing. Now the venue makes me a a custom snake that has my power supply extened, 1/4" and L6 cable loomed to together as one cord. I'm 99% sure it's a regular XLR they used. But I've gotten by for 2 years with it and one show with the HD500X. I have an AES/EBU cable somewhere so I'm going to try that and hope it works. If anyone has had anything simlar and has fixed it with some sort of hard boot or firmware upgrade/reload please let me know. I have 3 gigs this weekend and I need to come up with a plan B if swapping the cord for AES/EBU doesn't solve it. I practiced all day today with just the HD hooked up to my PC so I definitely know it has something to do with the Link. And yes I tried numerous times of turning both the amp and pod off and on again. Thank you, Dave
  2. Sorry if this is a dumb question but isn't the L6 link cable just an XLR cable?
  3. Hi I have a POD HD500 running in to a Line 6 DT25 head. The HD500 is connected to the DT25 via the L6 link. The unit has worked perfectly fine for a few months until recently. During a gig the sound just cut out completely. After swapping different cables (XLR, guitar etc) the sound came back. When back home I tried to replicate the fault but everything worked fine once again. A few weeks later the same thing happened again and then the display on pedal went blank, lit up but no information displayed.I un-plugged the pedal and went direct in to the amp, it worked fine. The following night I had another gig, plugged my pedal in as normal and it worked fine! I've just come to plug my pedal in again but first did a factory reset and flashed the firmware (successfully). Now I'm getting no sound or control from my pedal to the amp. If I plug headphones in it's fine, if I go direct into the amp without the pedal it's fine. I know straight away someone is going to say use a DMX XLR rather than standard but I honestly can't see this being the problem as the unit has worked fine with this XLR for months until now, I have also tried various other high quality XLR cables and none work. DMX cables are hard to get hold of here without ordering on-line. I can't use the warranty as I purchased the unit second hand and don't have proof of purchase. Can anyone recommend a solution or at least how to open the unit up to see if there is a loose connection on the XLR output? PLEASE HELP, I have a gig tomorrow!!! Ian
  4. Hello everyone I think I finally found a rig that can do pretty much anything I need for my one man show. I'm very excited because it's so friggin convenient and it does sounds good. I still have a few quirks to iron out so hope that with this thread you can help me and a few others have a 100% Dream Rig system. 1. I'm going out of my HD500x via L6 to the L2T XLR out of the L2T to my Bose L1M2B2 Tonematch small console. Doing in it this way I'm getting the exact same sound of the L2T is getting and switching from acoustic to electric presets. I'm getting a Hum on the Bose from the L2T XLR that I need to get rid of ASAP Any ideas how to do this correctly? 2. I can also go XLR out of the HD500x to the Bose Tonematch console but the signal level drops BIG time and the hum goes down too. Still getting the L2T sounding great via the L6 cable and all the switching from acoustic to electric just fine. 3. Is there a better way in doing this and to control the volume on the L2T? 4. I'm getting great tone even direct from the HD500x to the Bose T1 console and I'm all about convenience and be as lightweight as possible Are any of you with me on this?… plus I can save myself some $$$ returning the L2T and have one less box to carry. The convenience of having a dedicated GTR monitor is great too I'm just asking because from another point of view I think is good to have all the sounds coming out of one source in this case the Bose L1M2B2 system. 5. Is there a way I can control the volume of the L2T other than the Master knob on the HD500x? Just want to know all the options available to have full control of the system and don't be slaved to knobs all over. 6. It would be great if you can explain your signal flow, system setup [ipads…etc…] Pictures or videos can make a big difference explaining things so I would appreciate if you guys can do that. thanks a lot for your help regards, Charles
  5. Hi. I have a new HD500x and a new DT25. There are linked via L6 link. I have tailored a number of tones. Mostly these tones are fine. However, every now and then, perhaps when I select to tune the guitar or when shifting quickly through presets using the footswitches, an extreme reverb effect kicks in drowning out the tone. The tone is lost remotely in this massive reverb sound. Switching presets does not assist. The excessive reverb is on all presets. It can then sometimes go away after switching both units off and then on again on a number of occasions. At the moment I have just switched both units off and on about 5 times but no luck. I have also updated the firmware from 1.1 to 1.2, but the problem persists. As I write the unit is unusable. The sound is horrid and there is very little reverb set in any of my tones. Plugging straight into the amp with the guitar the tones are fine. This is only happening with the HD500X plugged in via L6. I have lodged a support ticket but appreciate any help in the meantime. I also seem to be getting the attached error when reading from the HD500x - although it has been intermittent while the reverb fault has been active - soem times the edit software could read the POD, other times not. Regards, Allan edit...... Just turned both units off for a couple of minutes, and back on one more time before abandoning it as a lost cause. HD Edit was able to read from the HD500X this time. and the tones have returned to normal. All good, but this is seriously starting to tick me off. I spend more time fiddling with the POD to get it to operate properly than I do playing.
  6. Hi, I'm very much enjoying my DT25 head and POD HD500. I also use it in conjunction with a couple of pedals in front of the HD500 and couple in the FX loop. I am considering buying a second DT25 head. So I can really get presence on stage, either with two amps running the same tone, or two totally different amps (e.g. Twin and Divided by 13). However, there is something I can't work out. If I connect the 2nd DT25 via L6 link from the first DT25, and if I use a foot pedal (e.g. Fulltone OCD) in front of POD HD500, then will both amps take on the sound of the Fulltone OCD (because it is at the front of the signal chain)? Or, is there a way to route connections within the POD HD 500 that means that I am able to run the amps clean/dirty, completely independently of each other, and crucially, that the second DT25 won't be affected by the pedals in front of the amp? I'm assuming I have to set up two FX loops in the POD HD500 - I'm not even certain this is possible?! See attached diagram. Any thoughts? Ben HD500 SETUP.pdf
  7. The LINE6 L3TM SPEAKER BAG arrived today. I like to share some pictures with you and discuss a feature for these bags. Overall the bag looks solid enough to handle the L3t speaker wherever I play. But sadly somebody at Line6 missed to design a feature I did expect to come along with the bag: A lot of musicians play HD Pods with the L3t speakers because it´s a great sounding and very flexible combination to play live with. -- > Bass/Guitar->HD POD->L6->L3t --> :-)) When I ordered the bag I did expect that you can open the front of the bag when playing a gig or jamming someplace as well as the top of the bag. Why? Because you don't have to unpack the L3t speaker when plugging in your HD500 (via L6 Link Cable). But as you can see on the photos: You can`t open the front. And you can´t customize the bag because you then have to destroy the the speaker protection material that is inside the bag. Flip your screen an take a look at the photos. Maybe you see what I am trying to say: Will Line6 change this / add this feature if only enough of us are asking for this?
