  1. Gearbox is not supported, so PF 1.12 is a direct free replacement. Yes, if you purchase the license for PF 2.5 you can use it as a standalone, and plug-in, and even other ASIO USB interfaces. You can also use the demo as a plug-in without paying. If you do purchase, make sure you get the Hardware Independent version, which you can return within 30 days if it doesn't work out or you don't like it. Do NOT get the i-Lok version, it has no refund policy, and is plug-in only. (Unless of course you already have an i-Lok and want to go the plug-in only route)
  2. The app is not fully synching with the AMPLIFi for some reason. I have seen other users report connectivity issues with iOS 8.2, and one user report that issue was resolved with iOS 8.3 beta (I am not personally suggested that). There is a PC Utility, if you download the drivers and Utility, you may be able to see what the Firmware version it is and/or update. I haven't updated to iOS 8.2 yet, but I will this weekend and see if I have any issues with my FX100 In the meantime I would open a ticket.
  3. Try: Forget connection Turn off BT Uninstall app Power cycle iPad Factory reset Amp Reinstall app Re-pair BT connection.
  4. Favorites are more for Tone Matching. If you find a tone you like from Tone Matching and Favorite it, it will show up next time you play that song with the app's player.
  5. I would contact support via phone or ticket.
  6. There is the standalone version and the plug-in version. The standalone version you launch from the desktop, the plug-in you launch from with in your DAW as VST plug-in. Prior to the release of POD Farm you could purchase a Gearbox plug-in license, after the release of POD Farm you could purchase a POD Farm plug-in license. The newer POD Studio UX comes with POD Farm 2.5 standalone and a hardware enabled plug-in license. Clear as mud so far right!! My guess is you likely did not purchase a separate license, but that's besides the point. You can upgrade to POD Farm 1.12 for free, but standalone only. So to get a stronger signal, first make sure you are sending the processed signal to your DAW, there are 4 sends, this can be configured in the Mixer View. There are sliders for the each pair of sends, and there is also a +18dB boost, I would use that if you cannot get good levels with the channel volume of the amp sim. If you purchased this new, do you remember what year?
  7. That's a great point! And make sure you turn on some of the elements that may be off.
  8. Since I'm new to JTV, I have only used FW 2.10, I'm scared to roll back and see what the differences are!! :o With my luck I would strongly prefer some of 1.90 and some of 2.10, I for someone with OCD, that would not be good.
  9. Hope to listen to this tonite. Are you saying the Cry Baby is an external pedal?
  10. They modeled the 5 combinations of the 89F's pups. http://line6.com/getrelease?rid=5634 I find the mag volume is bit louder than most models, with the exception of the 89F models.
  11. Not sure if it is my imagination, but adjusting the global volume seems to behave differently then adjusting the volume per model. Been having too much fun with the acoustic models to care at the moment!! But I have found I need to tweak a lot of my patches (PF2/POD HD) for hi-gain palm muting to calm the piezo squawk.
  12. Actually, there are two rules. There are no rules Have fun and don't let the technology get in the way of playing Wait, rule 2 is in conflict with rule 1, ugh, my head hurts!!
  13. I typically start with an amp and no effects and tweak for the the main sound I am going for. For clean tones, I sometimes don't even add an amp. For effects, I usually put stomps, wahs, compressors before the amp and mods, delays and reverbs after. If you really like a tone, it's a good idea to go to file and saves as to save it to you computer. You can also back all the tones as a bundle or individual setlists.
  14. Yep, that's what I alluded to in my first reply. I have seen the video too, but I thought they mention it is not the preferred method, it was a long time ago though.
  15. That is what I assume Bukester is trying to do. Bukester, if you do go that route, make sure the y cable has a TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) connection for the line in. otherwise you will only get one side of the stereo signal.
  16. When connecting to your computer's Line-In, do not use the UX for playback, just use the Xonar. But UX to the Line-In of a computer is typically as a last resort / lowest quality. You are adding an extra A/D conversion, and unless you are using S/PDIF out to your monitors, you are also adding another D/A. The exception would be if you have a Pro-Audio soundcard designed for recording. The Xonar is more designed for gaming and DVD/BluRay multichannel playback. So typically you should be connecting your monitors/headphones directly to the UX. Not sure what monitors you have, but if they can switch to more than one input, that could be one route, I have used this method for a while. But if you plan on doing a lot of recording, you may want to get a mixer, doesn't have to be fancy. That way you can connect your monitors to your mixer, and you can connect your computer, UX, and other devices to the mixer.
  17. My Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD both can stream music to the FX100 via Bluetooth, but neither will run the AMPLIFi Remote App due to the OS not being the correct version. Not sure of the newer ones have a more recent OS or not.
  18. Check out this thread. http://line6.com/support/topic/9239-cant-update-line-6-monkey-on-mac-osx-yosemite/?do=findComment&comment=75923
  19. So is this an older red-faced Toneport and you have no plug-in license? To get more wet signal turn down you what your are monitoring with and turn up the channel volume of the amp sim. Also, if this is an older Toneport, POD Farm 1.12 replaces Gearbox.
  20. Are you trying to record the wet, dry, or both? If you have the POD Studio with the plug-in, it is common to record both wet and dry then add the plug-in to the dry post processing. The dry track typically looks very weak, as it should, this allows for headroom when adding plug-ins. Are you using POD Farm standalone during recording?
  21. Have you tied forgetting the Bluetooth connection in settings before doing a fresh install of the app?
