  1. Hi, The Eventide Space is quite happy to operate in purely mono if you wish, which means it doesn’t have to tie up both Send/Return sockets. The best option would be to use both, and the advantages of that are the huge stereo effects you can produce. The only caveat to this is, as noted by “rd2rk” in the comment above, if you place any mono effect after the stereo return your signal will collapse down to mono. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  2. Well, if you find this such a big problem for working with the Powercab, the best way for dealing with this is to post a request on the IdeaScale website. Then you will see how many other people agree with you and upvote you idea for Global EQ to be added to L6-link. https://line6.ideascale.com Once you have done that you can post in this thread to let others know and encourage them to vote. Hope this helps/makes sense.

    Big Sur

Mmm... thank you for your considered opinion. My wife said that my “people skills” could do with a little polish, but my “people skills” are just fine, it’s my tolerance of stupidity that needs some work. Woof! Well, instead of wasting your life irritating me, maybe your genius could be better employed in coming up with a solution to this yourself! Other than that. DILLIGAF!
  4. That is probably the best thing to do in this situation. It could well be a component has failed in the Stomp. I’ve never seen a software installation totally fry a unit, mess them up for a while - yes, but never physically damage the electronics. As yours is a new unit, they will probably just swap it out for a new one, and if you ask nicely, they may also update the firmware for you. If you are already running Big Sur then, until there is a fix for HX Edit to work on that platform, you will have to do any preset editing on the box. Hopefully there will be a fix soon, but don’t hold you breath, as many other music software manufacturers are having trouble getting their stuff to run properly (or without Rosetta) on MacOS 11. Good luck.
  5. This information was posted in January 2016 by Digital Igloo (Eric Klein, Line 6 Chief Product Architect). Right at the top of this thread he explains. ”Global EQ is designed for compensating for the myriad environments in which you might play. As every DAW on the planet has stock EQ plugins that are likely more flexible than Helix's Global EQ, it made little sense to waste precious DSP on something largely unnecessary. Helix's routing dictates that each pair of outputs requires its own Global EQ block—currently we have one for the 1/4" outputs and another for the XLRs, and the Global EQ page controls them both simultaneously. That's how you can pick which one has Global EQ applied. Basically, the more pairs of outputs that monitor Global EQ, the fewer simultaneous blocks you'd be able to run.” Hope this helps/makes sense.
  6. In that case, you may find this useful to refer to. It has been around for a couple of years, but the info should still be valid. Thanks to “Stoopalini” on TGP for putting this together and making it freely available. https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/the-unofficial-helix-midi-guide.1954544/ Hope this helps/makes sense.
  7. Yes - it’s constant issue and total PITA.
  8. Godverdomme! Hier is hetzelfde product beschreven in het Engels voor alle anderen. Here's the same product desribed in English for every one else. https://xkeyair.com/widi-bud/
  9. Hi George, Ah ha... Now I understand, and that seems like a bad move on Fractal's part, not a good idea. No , your presets will not change after updating and the only time that has ever been a possible issue, was when the the reverbs were altered to make them sound more "wet". Ordinarily, they will not change, and you are usually promted to make a back up of all your presets prior to doing any update as a failsafe precaution. I would advise that you read these links first: And then this Hope this helps/makes sense
  10. Hi, Simple answer yes, but... here’s the caveat - FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER. Please note: The current firmware version is 3.01, but the version of HX Edit is still v.3.0 Erm... why would they change? Why would they sound different? Suggestion: read, study and inwardly digest the release notes for the update. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  11. Yes, I realise that the OP already has an Eventide H9 on his MIDI Out, but the H9 also can also handle MIDI through it’s USB port beside the 2 five pin DIN sockets. In the early days of MIDI daisy changing things was the norm. I would have though this could be achieved by doing something similar by adding in the WIDI Master into the mix. I’m coming at this cold, and haven’t looked at this too deeply. It’s just that I was aware of the WIDI gizmo being available, so I may be wide of the mark, and I’m busy with something else right now. I will probably delve into this later.
  12. Hi, Not sure if this is the sort of device you are asking about when you mention Wireless MIDI (WIDI) https://www.cme-pro.com/widi-master/ Hope this helps/makes sense.
  13. Oops! That might make a big difference to your situation if you are running Big Sur - if not try what I suggested in the earlier post an just make sure that you don’t have any alias back to an prior version of HX Edit. If you have Big Sur installed, all I can do is refer you to the big orange “sticky” banner at the top of this page entitled “MacOS 11 Compatibilty with Line 6 Software”. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  14. Hi Chris, Yes, you started a thread, but it is about Big Sur, the new Mac models, and their compatibility and performance with other audio products in general. Digital Igloo is not likely to respond to something like that. You need to ask specifically about the Helix products and their current status regarding this. Anything else you post that is not related to Line 6 Helix family products directly is, as you have found, likely to be overlooked or otherwise ignored. As there is a new thread speculating about version 3.1 of the firmware, you might try asking if it will be compatible. I noticed the Digital Igloo (Eric) responded to a comment about the Rat distortion block, which is the only certain thing due to appear in the next firmware. Hope this helps/makes sense
  15. Hmmm... O.K. as you said that you can connect to the Stomp via USB, let’s just give this one more go around. You don’t mention what your computer and OS are, but I will guess Windows, plus the same routine should be the same for Mac. Firstly go to the "DOWNLOADS" menu at the top of this page and from "-ALL HARDWARE-" select HX Stomp then go to the "-ALL SOFTWARE-" menu item and select HX EDIT, now select your Windows system or Mac OSX from under the "-ALL OS-" tab, then click “GO”. From the next page you can select HX Edit 3.0 for your HX Stomp. then below that you will also need the Firmware 3.01 Flash Memory. Now scroll right the way down the page where you will find Line 6 Updater version 1.9. Download all these items to your computer and note where they are saved. Then: Remove all the previously installed Line 6 software from your computer especially the Windows drivers and then restart your computer. Make sure to turn off the power to your HX Stomp. Unplug the USB cable from the computer and HX Stomp. Ensure that HX Edit is definitely closed and that you have your HX Stomp reconnected to your PC by USB cable (do not use a hub, some front USB ports on PCs act like a hub) and hold down “Page >” while turning the power on. (You may see a black screen, but keep going). Now, launch the Line 6 Updater Utility and select "Offline Mode". Your HX Stomp and current firmware version should now show up in the window, click on the dark green coloured band and you should now have the option to select a local file - point it at the Flash Memory file you downloaded and let it get on with the update. When it completes you can install the new HX Edit v.3.0 software and you should be good to go. No guarantees are given or implied, you do this at your own risk. If it doesn’t work, raise a ticket with Customer Support. Hope this helps/makes sense
  16. Hi, I have various external loopers (Boss RC30, Ditto x4 and a cheapo Ammoon thing) that I can use with my Helix, all of them run in stereo using 4 regular guitar cables on the FX Send/Return sockets. I use different coloured cables to easily identify the send 1&2 and return 1&2. You can patch anything that runs in stereo to the send and returns, for example I often use an old Yamaha SPX90, an old 1980s Digital Delay, a Line 6 POD HD500 and even cheap a Zoom MS-70CDR. Exactly the same - very simple. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  17. First thing you could try is to do a factory hardware reset. HX Stomp: Turn unit off and then turn back on. Hold Footswitches 2 and 3 as the unit boots up. Hope this helps/makes sense.

    Big Sur

Thank you sir! Finally, someone who understands and hopefully has eventually managed to get the message across. I gave up! As for everyone else, who continue to bemoan the situation, I will repeat once more - Line 6 staff do not regularly monitor these forums. These are discussion groups for users. If you seriously want to attract the attention of someone who maybe able to advise you of the current status of compatibility with MacOS 11 Big Sur and or the new Mac M1 Models, then post your queries FAO Frank Ritchotte (Line 6 head honcho) over on The Gear Page website. That should stir things up. You could also try the Helix Family Group on Facebook and see what response you get there, as those two places are where the main influencers hang out - not here. I hope this helps/makes sense (at last)
  19. Hi, A little late here, and I’m not sure if you have read this post, but you may find it explains somethings that could assist you, as you say that you are new to recording. What I refer to is the 13th post on the thread by “WarringtonCJ”. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  20. Hi, As this seems to be never ending, try the suggestion about taking this to the top - see my last comment here.
  21. Hi Chris, I guess that everyone would delighted to hear from Line 6 about this situation, but I wouldn’t expect a response in here. This area of the Line 6 forum is the equivalent of the Land That Time Forgot. There is a pinned post at the top of this forum, Helix Native 1.50 Release Notes, from Digital Igloo (Eric Klein, Chief Product Design Architect) dated January 2018, so don’t hold your breath. For you, and anyone else, seeking a serious answer to when this issue is going to be resolved, I would suggest that you post your question on the Helix Family Facebook Group, or even better, go over to The Gear Page an mark your question for the attention of Frank Ritchotte (Line 6 head honcho). That will go right to the top and should stir things up. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  22. Well, may be you would be interested in listening to what Jason does with this reverb. I’ve been side processing reverb through other FX for a long time, but if you’ve never tried it watch this. The bit that amused me was near the end of the video he says “the sky’s the limit”. Hmm... Big Sky, Blue Sky.
  23. Yeah, that’s correct and in a recent video (below) featuring a discussion with Digital Igloo, Ben Adrian, Andy Paredes and Paul Hindmarsh, Paul asked Eric if he could give any secrets away regarding the release date of the 2 new “secret” products and very nearly did, until Andy said, rather cautiously, that it would be the first half of the year, but I guess now they are no longer secret - they will be announced when they are in stores ready to buy. DI also said the stuff that is due to be included in firmware v3.2 is even bigger than v.3.0 Could be some time coming though, so don’t hold your breath! Oops! Nearly forgot to add vid link:
  24. Too late. I think he’s gone now.
