  1. Hi, Not a description but a list of who did stuff and setlist slot are in the release notes on the download page or here. https://line6.com/support/page/kb/effects-controllers/helix/helix-30-release-notes-r934/ The files are available to download from here. Hope this helps.
  2. Hi, Well if that’s the case, maybe I misunderstood, and it is only the HXFX that has the extra Artist presets and even then there are only a couple listed. 12A-12D—Julien Baker 13A—Sarah "Noveller" Lipstate 13B, 13C—Steve Stevens I simply posted a link to the downloads that are available and it looks like the Helix floor, Rack, LT and Native get the full set. I have a floor unit, so I haven’t looked at what is inside the Stomp setlist that is available for download. Possibly another Stomp user will know.
  3. Steady on there “Cru”. You’re in danger of stating the bleeding obvious. My mind is beyond boggled and I’m growing weary of going over the same old ground every update. If these people buy into the hardware and fail to research how to update, I think I will just let them fix it on their own. This latest round of “updated bricked my Helix” threads have already drawn several comments to the effect that statements like yours (and also mine) are arrogant and snarky. I’m gonna leave ‘em to it.

And your contribution to solving the issue, (posed by the OP and the really odd title to the thread), is? After 5 years of “Update bricked my Helix” threads it becomes tedious having to explain these instructions over and over again. it’s not arrogance, it’s weariness!
  5. STEP ONE—Update HX Edit (Do This First!) There is a whole page of instructions for updating.
  6. You shouldn’t have to do anything other than plug in the USB cable between the Stomp and your computer and turn on the power, HX Edit should see it. Ensure that your are using version HX Edit 3.0 and do not use a USB hub. Note on some PCs the USB ports on the front of the case act like a hub. Hope this helps/makes sense.

  8. The thing about updates is, you are advised to do a backup because everything will be reset to factory defaults. First thing most people notice is the global settings have changed. Reload your backup and everything should be fine. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  9. Hi, You didn’t mention what hardware this is happening on. Have you gone through the usual routines of powering down the unit, reboot and perform a factory reset. If it still happens, then you could try re-flashing the firmware. Hope this helps.
  10. I guess this will be refined, because as it says in the “Known Issues” section of the firmware download page: In the Poly Pitch models, very fast playing may exhibit some minor onset smearing. Additional improvements to the poly pitch engine are forthcoming My bold emphasis - I think they maybe already on the case.
  11. Hi, Get them here, they are right at the bottom of the page - be sure to take note of the warning at the top of the page! Hope this helps/makes sense.
  12. Yep, I saw that, and then I thought, “must be a mistake”. Especially as “Drybonz” has been kicking up a stink about Line 6 not getting their software ready for “Big Sur”, even when lots of other music/plugin companies have also told people to hold off from updating to the new Mac OS. In the heat of the moment of a new firmware update it could be quite easy for some web slinger (possibly not Line 6 staff) to simply assume it was ready. And you know what they say about “assume”. Therefore, I am going to regard it as a typo, and when I get a proper Line 6 email saying it’s all fully compliant then I will know for sure.
  13. Hi, The second orange banner at the top of this page entitled: MacOS 11 Compatibility with Line 6 Software states: “Currently, Line 6 software products are not compatible with macOS 11 Big Sur.” Most registered users also received an email saying the same and there are a couple of threads on here discussing the issue at some length. Until there is an official announcement, I would avoid. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  14. Oh, now I see, the first link about artist presets in the release notes doesn’t mention the HX stomp, but the second link does have a download for the Stomp. Load ‘em up an’ check ‘em out. Don’t like ‘em - wipe ‘em and put your own stuff in.
  15. They should load up if you do the reset, but if you don’t want to use them you can overwrite them if you wish. The list of who did what is near the end of this post: https://line6.com/support/page/kb/effects-controllers/helix/helix-30-release-notes-r934/ or if you do want to download the setlists are available here:
  16. No it doesn’t, it updates all your installed presets to the latest format. You can get the new Artist’s preset etc. (FACTORY 1 Setlist) if you want to. Here are the notes: If you made a backup of all your presets then you can do as suggested by “CraigGT” in the post above - 1. All 3 Footswitches clears all presets/IRs 2. FS1+2 resets presets and IRs 3. FS 2+3 does a factory restore (globals, presets, IRs) You can also install the new presets through HX Edit v 3.0 Hope this helps.
  17. Did you download HX Edit 3.0 and make a back up your presets before installing the firmware? Check that your HX Edit is the correct version. Hope this helps.
  18. Hi, You told us what your hardware is, but what version of the OS you are running. I just updated to v3.0 from my 2016 iMac Retina 5K (High Sierra) using HX Edit 3.0 - smoothest update ever. I’ve no idea why you would want to put your LT into “test mode” - here are the reset options. Reset Options Helix Floor/LT Button Combination Description 2 LED light Fun 3 & 4 Test Mode 5 & 6 Global reset 7 & 8 Reset setlists to factory, Keep IRs 8 & 9 Reset setlists to factory, Clear IRs 9 & 10 Reset setlists to factory, Global reset, Clear IRs 10 & 11 Upgrades existing presets to latest format 11 & 12 Clear current preset 5 & 12 Clear setlists, clear IRs, Return system settings to default 6 & 12 Safe boot mode To use Reset Options: Power off the Helix Hold the desired button combination Power on the Helix Release the button combination Please note: Buttons are numbered from top left to bottom right. FS 6 & 12 is the best bet, then re-install. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  19. Should be, it the new OS where the problems are. Note to all users - this has to be smoothest update ever. Just waiting for all those usual “update bricked my Helix” complaints to roll in, or even worse “it won’t work on “Big Sur”. Oh, dear! Look at all this slick new stuff they are missing. Just wait until “spikey” sees that there is a tuner in Helix Native, but not HX Edit! Hey, nice new startup screen, guys.
  20. Huge thanks to all those people in the Line 6 Helix crew involved in getting this out to the real world.
  21. Ah, yes - they are splendid things. I still have my original hardware SPX90 in the rack over in the corner. Overloud now do a software plug-in that is based just on that one SPX Symphonic effect. I still hope that someone from Line 6 will ask the guys at Yamaha if they can replicate some of the Yamaha FX for inclusion in the Helix. Not just the SPX, but the Magic stomp that Alan Holdsworth used. That could be fun.

    Big Sur

Mmm... well I’ll bet Adobe are kicking themselves for not getting all their products ready. https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/download-install/kb/macos-big-sur.html I just checked with DAZ 3D who just released a new version of their flagship software. This is a quote from their forum. ”Please be aware that at the moment Daz Studio is not compatible with macOS Big Sur and cannot be made to run. At present the only option for running DS under MacOS is to downgrade the OS to an earlier version. Daz is working on an update to address this issue, but it is not due until mid-2021.” Oops!
  23. Nope! Not that one, that was something entirely different. The one I did for “shawnt113” was a quick ‘n’ dirty patch specifically for bass. @off_brand_lego When I get in the studio later today I will repost that EDIT: Here ya go! It may not be what you need because it was done quickly, but it's somewhere to start. Hope this helps/makes sense. PseudoSymphonic.hlx
  24. No. Simply hold down buttons 2&3 while turning on the power, just as stated above. That’s all there is to it. Hope this helps/makes sense.
