It stays blank because it is waiting to have the firmware updated - that’s what “update mode” means.

See notes above.

The information is freely available right here, although most people seem to go into “panic mode” and never look. Plus here is an updated version of the notes posted previously for a Mac User, modified for a PC. O.K. go to the "DOWNLOADS" menu at the top of this page and from "-ALL HARDWARE-" select HX Stomp, then leave the "-ALL SOFTWARE-" as is, now select your PC Operating System from under the "-ALL OS-" tab. From the next page you can select the Firmware 2.92 Flash Memory for your Stomp, then below that you will need the HX Edit 2.92. Now scroll further down the page a grab Line 6 Updater version 1.9. Download all these bits to your PC. If you have made any presets that you wish to keep then they need to be backed up using HX Edit prior to updating the Firmware. If everything if fine then proceed to next step. Ensure that HX Edit is closed and that you have your Stomp connected to your PC by USB cable and launch the Updater Utility and select "Offline Mode". Your HX Stomp and current firmware version should show in the window, click on the dark green coloured band and you should now have the option to select a local file - point it at the Flash Memory file you down loaded and let it get on with the update. Hope this helps/makes sense

I just had a look at the link you gave to the “DVD home theatre system” that you say you are using to monitor your audio from Helix LT. It seems to me that there are a lot of inbuilt EQ settings on the system. I certainly hope that you are bypassing all this stuff. I think you need some real monitors or FRFR speakers to hear what’s happening. Equalizer settings Action Classic Concert Digital Drama Jazz Rock Sci-Fi

Yes there is, but I did a cut and paste of the usual options that I seem to post every week. Here we go - UPDATE: HX Stomp 1. All 3 Footswitches clears all presets/IRs 2. FS1+2 resets presets and IRs 3. FS 2+3 does a factory restore (globals, presets, IRs) 4. Pressing and Holding down the "Page >" Button while powering up will put the HX Stomp into update mode. This update mode is helpful if the update is interrupted, and the HX Stomp will not boot properly. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Did you try doing a factory reset on the HX Stomp? If not - here ya go! HX Stomp Button Combination Description All 3 Footswitches Clears all presets/IRs FS1+2 Resets presets and IRs FS 2+3 Factory restore (globals, presets, IRs) Hope the helps/makes sense SEE EXTRA INFO IN MY POST LOWER DOWN THIS THREAD - RE: SAFE BOOT OPTION

This is because I'm using the preamp and power amp of a real amp in four cable method out to a real cabinet and just running overdrive pedal blocks and EQ into the front of it and after an FX loop block some delay and reverb and finally the looper. Did you try what was suggested in the other post that you mentioned?

Ha ha ha. Sh!t Well done, now you have figured out the forum’s “bad language” filter and how to work around it.
-
Hi, This may be somewhat obvious, but when you updated the firmware to 2.92, did you also ensure that HX Edit was updated to the latest version. The firmware revision number and HX Edit must match for it to work correctly.

Hi, According to the OP’s comment, apparently not. ”Issue is same whether device connected or not.” It seems very strange, but I’m not a Windows user, so, I can’t really help out. Although, there are lots of reports of HX Edit and HX Native either failing to load or randomly crashing. Something weird happening for so many reports to be posted.

[BUG] Instability with Cubase 10 (Preset Crash Bug)
datacommando replied to Kiwifruit's topic in Helix Native
There seems to be a whole bunch of people on this forum complaining about Native crashing in various DAWs. I don’t have a solution, but I do have a suggestion for one and all - please raise a ticket with Line 6 Customer Support. Unless they are made aware of this by people who have found a problem, then they cannot fix it. Line 6 staff generally do not monitor these forums, they are meant for user interaction. If Native users haven’t, or are unable to supply a solution to this, then the best thing is report the issue. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
That shouldn’t be necessary, you can store your presets, setlists, IRs and bundles wherever you wish, much the same as any other type of file (jpg, doc, pdf). Just remember where they are when you need to reload them. Easy enough to go down the wrong rabbit hole. ;-) Hope this helps/makes sense.

No problem, happy to know you are up and running - have fun with all the new toys in the black box!
-
When it come to re-amp videos it doesn't get much clearer than this which is very old, but should be easy to understand.

If this is causing you so much trouble, then the easiest thing to do is not try to run the update over the internet and do a local install, by downloading the stuff you need and using the Line 6 Updater Utility. First you will need the HX Edit v2.92 software, then the Helix LT v 2.92 Flash Memory Bundle. O.K. go to the "DOWNLOADS" menu at the top of this page and from "-ALL HARDWARE-" select Helix LT, then leave the "-ALL SOFTWARE-" as is, now select Mac OS X from under the "-ALL OS-" tab. from the next page you can select Helix/HX Firmware 2.92 Flash Memory, then below that you will need the HX Edit 2.92. Now scroll further down the page a grab Line 6 Updater version 1.9. Download all these bits to your Mac( they need to be installed in the Line 6 folder inside your Applications Folder). If as you say this a new Helix LT , unless you have made some presets that you wish to keep then they need to be backed up using HX Edit prior to updating the Firmware. If everything if fine then proceed to next step. Ensure that you have your LT connected to the Mac by USB cable and launch the Updater Utility and select "Offline Mode". Your LT and current firmware version should show in the window, click on the dark green coloured band and you should now have the option to select a local file - point it at the Flash Memory file you down loaded and let it get on with the update. Hope this helps/makes sense

Hello, Did you try what I suggested in my earlier post above? It appeared to have fixed it for “d_sic3” as per comment above.
-
Hi, I would check the Global settings then try a re-install of the latest firmware and see if that fixes it. There were reports of strange things happening with the large volume knob malfunctioning on v2.9 and it was suggested that rebooting the unit 2 or 3 times seemed to fix it. One suggestion from Digital Igloo says to reboot and do not touch any thing for 30 second and it should work, but this should have been fixed properly in the v2.91 hotfix update. Check it all here: https://line6.com/support/topic/16083-helix-bug-reports/page/46/ Hope this helps/makes sense.

Failed to connect to DSP engine 8201
datacommando replied to kim666mikkelsen's topic in Helix Native
Hi, kim666mikkelsen, Good to know that you made it work for you - let’s hope that others try this and get their copy of Helix Native working properly. Thank you for supplying the information. -
Hi Tim, You could try a factory reset - if you have made a backup then doing any one of these options should be fine. HX Stomp Button Combination Description All 3 Footswitches Clears all presets/IRs FS1+2 Resets presets and IRs FS 2+3 Factory restore (globals, presets, IRs Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, What you have encountered is an over zealous “Gatekeeper” that is inbuilt to the Mac OS. Read this, which will save me having to type out the same old thing one more time. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202491 Oh, yeah, what “crusininon2” states above is technically correct - with the latest update you should not need the Line 6 updater. Although, when you do the latest update (v2.92) using the HX Edit install routine, you will probably find that it is actually running on top of the Line 6 Updater app. If you have any grief trying to update through HX Edit, simply fire up the Updater and do it through that app. In fact to avoid any issues with the Line 6 servers, download the latest software to your drive and do a local install. During the update do not allow your computer to go to sleep, in fact do not have anything else open or running on your Mac. Hope this helps/makes sense.

I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems with HXN in Studio One 4.6.1 along with the other users who have posted above. It seems strange that there is also a post from one user who states that his works as expected. I also notice that many are saying “please help” and “where’s the fix” and you have said “Line 6 did nothing”. I wonder if any of them and/or you actually raised a ticket with Customer Support? That is the only way to definitely let Line 6 know that you are having problems. Line 6 staff do not monitor this forum. This forum is intended for users to assist other users, if they can. Mmm. A full year! That’s a long time and we are now on Helix Native 1.92. Plus you say “I'll not upgrade my demo if they don't solve it.”. Interesting - the demo only works for 15 days, so the time frame you mention does not make any sense? I don’t use Studio One and I’m unable to help you other than to say the best and quickest way to solve this is to let Line 6 know by asking Customer Support to investigate. If I get a chance, I may download a trial version of Studio One and check it out, but I don’t know, because if it works for me on a Mac, your set up maybe completely different - too many variables. Hope this helps/makes sense.

O.K regarding HXN and Reaper crash issues - I found this comment over in the main Helix forum: Disable wireless adapter!!! Power settings on HIGH PERFORMANCE. Turn off all sleep settings. Turn off Windows sounds and special effects. Disable any unnecessary audio drivers in Sound Panel. FROM CONTROL PANEL (NOT Settings), open SYSTEM, Advanced System Settings, Advanced Tab, Performance, Settings: Visual Effects= Adjust for best performance Performance Options Advanced Tab – Adjust for best performance of = Background Services Helix Sample Rate matched to DAW. Buffers 128-256 works for most machines. posted by “rd2rk” here: Check it out - he might be correct.

This info was posted in another thread on here - may be worth checking out: Try to login to your Line6 account from another browser. Better from the pre installed browser. I had the same issue, then I tried to login from Safari, I had a message that the connection wasn't secure and I had to choose that I wanted to proceed. The HX edit was able to connect. Hope that helps. Original post from “pithagoras” in the thread: https://line6.com/support/topic/55836-helixhx-292-hx-edit-292-and-helix-native-192/page/2/?tab=comments#comment-335211

Now every time I post that remark, I seem to attract nothing but trouble. Even when I give it as a direct quote from Digital Igloo, just the same! That's the way it goes. ;-)

Wow! A tuner, and a looper! Perfect, stay with Guitar Rig 5 if you’re happy with that, nobody is making you use Helix Native. That’s your decision - whatever floats your boat.
