Hi, First up - Is your HX Stomp running the latest 3.50 firmware? If it is - after installation did you preform a factory reset as per the Release Notes recommendation? If not - do it now, to see if this fixes the problem. Also, check the HX Stomp 3.0 Owner’s Manual - page 21 - Block Order and Stereo Imaging. Furthermore - when you are describing weird and bizarre things happening to your presets, it’s great help if you upload a copy of the preset that you are having this issue with. Having in example preset would allow other users to check it out on their hardware to see if they can track down the cause. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Ahh… the usual quote from Digital Igloo is - “Soon!” Works every time.
-
Hi, First up - There is NO version 3.51 firmware for the Helix! There is a 3.51 update to HX Edit and Helix Native - it was release to fix bugs in those particular applications. See the Release Notes for each item. The firmware for all the hardware remains at v.3.50 I’m a Mac user and have no issues with USB Audio on my system, therefore I have no idea what is causing this on your Windows machine Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hmm… yep, if it doesn’t work you can always use a tuning fork, and when it works it can still be completely out of tune if the reference and offset are shifted. IIRC, a guy on here complained about his tunings being way off - he was advised to check the offsets, and what do you know ? They had been screwed up. Oops! There you go, even when working they can be wrong.
-
Oh, yes, sweetened tunings - for when you’re in that James Taylor mode. I have the sweet options in my Peterson, I find them very handy for my autoharp. ;-)

Helix Native quit working after hard drive clone, error 8207
datacommando replied to ArtieJ's topic in Helix Native
Hi, if you check you screenshot you can see the error is [code -8207] - a quick search will reveal this has happened on many occasions. To save lots of time re-typing the same things over, and over again - go here and read this:- Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, A "me too!" post to a thread that has been quietly slumbering for the past 3 years could use a little more clarification. It's all a little vague. The OP on this subject was using HXFX - is that what you are using? Usually it's a good idea to upload an example preset so that other users can check it out and see if they suffer the same issues. Although having said that the HXFX has no amp modelling, so, ideally you could inform us of what you are running your FX unit into and how it's connected - straight into the front of the amp or 4 cable into the FX loop. Has this been and issue for a while, or has it just started? Have you recently updated your firmware? If you did - did this start happening after the update? If you didn't - do it now. Help us to help you Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: I found this which may be relevant to HXFX.

Downloaded presets missing one half of stereo signal
datacommando replied to letterk's topic in Helix Native
Hi, Your comment is a little bit vague. You say that you are using your Powercab to monitor the output from your M1, but you don’t mention what model of Powercab you have. As you mention “summing” then that indicates you have a single speaker unit. Plus you didn’t mention what DAW you are using to output the audio from HX Native. Also how are you connecting to the Powercab - USB or external audio interface with XLR, 1/4” etc. Note - To save me having to do lots of typing, I refer you to this: Helix Native is a stereo plugin. For a full description of Block Order & Stereo Imaging refer to the Helix Native Pilot’s Guide 3.50 (Rev Q) page 43. To access the guide, click on the question mark icon in the lower left corner of the main window of Native’s GUI and select it from the pop up menu. Also, downloaded presets may have been prepared for use as mono, or stereo, and possibly devised to be used with a particular hardware model - Helix Native can be configured for preset compatibility with other units - see page 14. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Doh! Should have looked at the Tuner options first! Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Posting the same question twice is not necessary - please don’t cross post as it will become even more complicated than it already is! You stated your Mac model and year, but not the OS you’re running - AFAIK, the newest fully functional operating system for that model would be High Sierra - Mac OS 10.13.x. However, you should still be able to configure your MBP to use the Helix as the default audio interface. This can be done using the Audio/MIDI Setup app in the Utilities folder on your computer. The Helix would also need to be selected as the audio interface to be used in Guitar Pro 6, or your DAW - (Logic Pro X, GarageBand, etc.). Details on using the Helix as audio interface over USB is fully documented in the Helix Owner’s Manual on page 68. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f041b611d61cac763b/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev F - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense. Oh, yeah - “Yes but it doesn’t work it makes gp6 run real slow”. Have you considered updating you almost 12 year old computer and a Tablature Editor released in 2010?
-
Hi, Hmm… not encountered the popping, banging and freaking out things with my Helix floor. It works just fine, but you state that you re-installed the previous firmware and it worked? You failed to advise us what version of the firmware that previous version was, and/or what computer and operating system you’re using. It may help to know such things. As noted by @rd2rk in the post above, if you followed the instructions for updating to the letter, then it might be time to find an exorcist! You could give it another shot on re-installing by trying the “disaster recovery” local install instructions listed here. https://line6.com/support/topic/65019-helixhx-update-doesnt-work-look-here/ Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT Your attachment (.php file) downloads on a Mac as 0 KB - nothing there!
-
Ah ha, the Helix floor - I was an early adopter of that piece of gear, at around the same time as I switched my iMac to one that didn’t have FireWire ports, and essentially made my Focusrite Saffire redundant. Luckily for me the Helix is a fully functioning audio interface with 8 channels available over USB. Also has a mic connection with 48v phantom power available. It is used almost daily in my home studio, although I do have a cheapo, cheapo, UMC204HD interface gathering dust in a corner. It’s there simply as a fail safe/disaster recovery box that I can use with Helix Native, should I need it as a get out of jail free card. Enjoy your toy!
-
Hi, I agree with the comment above from @soundog - about “Hi-Z” connections and trying to get a decent result by using the generally average sound card available in most computer systems. Your Focusrite will be just the job for your purpose. Focusrite have a good reputation and have been around for quite a while - for many years I used a Focusrite Saffire until I could no longer use the FireWire connection after updating my Mac. Again, as noted above, don’t overdrive your input to Native - here’s a quick guide. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, I think they are creating confusion for buyers by showing 3 different packs available, but one does specifically state: ”ULTIMATE BigBOX IR collection (HD-Wav & AxeFx ready)” It also has this bullet point in the description - AxeFX freindly too in ULTRARES HD files. ready to load and go (Including Spreadsheets/presets) You could spend a lifetime checking out millions of IR options that are available - I find it easier to start with what is in the Helix and sculpt the tone to what I need.
-
Hi, I’m not sure where you read that, or why you would think that the Focusrite wouldn’t be adequate for hooking up to your DAW. That’s what the Scarlett is designed to do. The easiest way to find out is to download Helix Native 3.51 and load it into your DAW, then hook up the Focusrite, and your guitar, launch HXN and log in to your Line 6 account, then click “Start Trial”and check it out, free, for 15 days. Have fun. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hello again, Your message still seems to be rather confusing for me to fully understand. The message from support is almost the same as the information supplied in the original post in this thread. And the link that was supplied (https://my.hidrive.com/lnk/1rHoRkgf) is to download the v.3.50 firmware bundle, and it is exactly the same as the one in the main Line 6 download area. Looking at the Capture2.PNG from Jan 19, 13:15 PM, it states that your HX Stomp XT has been updated to 3.50, and after the preset rebuilding process, it is recommended that you perform a “Factory Reset” by holding down buttons C & D (foot switches 2 and 3) while turning on the power. Then you should restore your device from the back up file you created before the update. I cannot understand why you still have a problem with this if you have followed the instructions. It is very strange to have this fail on 2 different Windows computers. As you have mentioned, if you can try with a Mac you may be able to fix this, but as the PNG image shows the update to be complete, I don’t see why it doesn’t work correctly right now. If using a Mac fails to correct the problem then it might be a good idea to consult the store where you bought it to ask them for more assistance. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Well it looks to me that these guys have a contact form at the bottom of their website pages -drop them a line, as they are the folks who would know exactly what is in the pack and what they will load into. https://www.theampfactory.com/downloads/category/irs/ Although, it looks like a lot of cash investment if you only need that one IR of the WEM Starfinder? Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: If you only require the Fane model - this guy has these. https://giacomopasquali.store/products/uem-starfinder-412 Ah ha, Fane Acoustics, there’s a blast from my past - My late mother worked as the Personal Assistant and Secretary to one of the founding partners (Dennis Newbold - the NE part of the FANE name) back in the late 60s and early 70s. I recall her telling me about the visit of some very polite, but long haired, young men who came to check out some new speakers. She said they had a very strange name - Pink Floyd.

Hmm… Well it certainly should, although you haven’t given us much to go on? Saying “IT DOESN’T WORK” is quite simply not enough, a bit more explanation is required. You could try to start your car and then say “IT DOESN’T WORK”. Not very helpful to a mechanic, who may begin by looking for an electrical fault only later to realise there is no fuel in the tank! Check, and then double check everything in the original post, then follow the instructions to the letter. Don’t try to be clever and try any short cuts. Just do as it says. Please help us to help you, we are not Line 6 staff, we are fellow users. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, You make a couple of interesting points that bother me, “I'm a new Helix user…” and “I'm not a ‘sound engineer’ ”. O.K. that’s a fair comment, but you have bought into quite an above average guitar processor, that can create the sort of fully produced sound you would encounter in the control room of a recording studio. There is going to be a “learning curve” to this stuff - you don’t need to be a pro sound engineer, but a little knowledge goes a long, long way with this stuff. You also state:- “I use premium guitars, like American Fender Strat Deluxe and Jeff Beck, Gibson LP Standard and Tribute, Ibanez RG 550 Genesis” Once again, O.K. - very nice range of guitars, but there is no mention of what you were playing these guitars through prior to the Helix Floor! Furthermore what are you playing through, or what monitoring system are you using now! Nobody here can help with suggesting anything to help your signal chain if we don’t know how it is being monitored. We are not psychic! Please help us to help you! Hope this helps makes sense

Hi, This is the an area of the forum designated for users the Line 6 Helix range of products. You appear to be requesting an update to a driver for the Mac OS (you didn’t state which version), but as the GuitarPort Is regarded as a legacy product (2008), I seriously doubt this will ever happen. You should note that there are no Line staff here, and only very occasionally that they visit these forums - (See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums”). Otherwise - see this: Hope this helps/makes sense.

Odd behaviour with "setlist" and "USER" presets
datacommando replied to kelv23's topic in Helix Native
O.K. If that is the situation the general consensus of opinion would suggest that when weird stuff starts to happen, perform a factory reset. Please ensure that you have made a backup/safety copy of all your own presets before proceeding with a reset. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Uh? What? About 6 years after the event!

Thank you, for all your hard work in putting this extremely helpful resource together.

It’s simply because the Zoom Multi Stomp MS-70 CDR is neither rare, or pricey I have one around just to patch into the Helix FX loop should I feel the need to use one of it’s many oddball effects. The same goes for my Mooer DTP Ocean Machine that can pull off a couple of reverb and delay tricks currently not available in the Helix, including reverse reverb with shimmer. Yep, AFAIK, Line 6 does have a couple of ex-DigiTech guys with them, who were the reason you now have poly pitch options in your Helix. Regarding your comment about reverse reverb, obviously you have posted here, but as there are no Line staff here to see it and it’s only very occasionally that they visit these forums - (See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums”). This link is where you need to go to have any hope of it been seen by anyone from Line 6: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/index Before posting any new ideas, please do a search to see if it's already been listed. Multiple requests for the same thing will thin out the votes. Also, post your ideas one at a time. Many users don’t vote for combined suggestions. Only then should you use this thread to let other users know what your suggestions are, with links to IdeaScale, so they can vote on it if they wish. You did do all that before posting here, didn’t you? Also, have you tried patching in your “rare and pricey Zoom MS-50G” while you wait? Just curious… Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi @craiganderton Oops! I would guess you actually meant FlexoVibe (also - FlexoVerb Deep Dive). Apologies, but I have my proofreader’s head on today, and it’s not exactly the sort of typo that would show up in a spellchecker.
