Don’t hold your breath waiting for that to happen! As noted by “rd2rk” in the post above, Digital Igloo has a $500 bet on this, over on TGP, and he is the man who would know. Far too much still in progress for this version of Helix products. I bought my Helix floor almost 7 years back for what it could do then, and Line 6 still keeps adding to it. You could waste your life waiting for the next big thing coming down the road. if you want an LT - don’t think about it - do it Oh, yeah - see the banner at the top of this page regarding “Impact of Global Materials Shortage”.

Hi, It’s not corrupted, and it’s not a bug, it’s a feature. If you have already assigned an effect block to a footswitch, and then add it to your favourites folder, when you recall that favourite it is applied to the same footswitch. Here’s a quick video showing the features and functions included in favourites. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, As noted in the previous comments - when any item is displayed as transparent it is not available to use because you have simply run out of processing power. Each block in your signal chain will use a different amount of DSP depending on the complexity of the effect and whether it is mono or stereo. It's not obvious from your screenshot what particular delays and reverbs you have in the preset but if you can get away with using mono, or legacy, versions of the same type you may be able to add the 3rd reverb. Any effect used before the amp/cab block ideally should be mono. Forum contributor, “Malhavok” (Ben Vesco) has done his own tests of DSP usage, and has been publishing the lists for quite some time. Find the latest updates here: https://benvesco.com/store/helix-dsp-allocations/ Hope this helps/makes sense.

Assigning snapshots to different footswitches on HX stomp XL
datacommando replied to claudeu's topic in Helix
Hi Claus, The way that Snapshots work was modified in the 3.15 firmware update, and many people are not aware of this, or think it is a “bug”. It has not been very well documented - this is the only mention of it from the Release Notes for v.3.15 New Features in 3.15 Per-Snapshot Command Center > HX Snpsht Values Command Center > HX Snapshot command parameters can now be controlled by Snapshots themselves. For example, imagine that you are on Snapshot 1 and create an HX Snapshot command on FS2. You set it so that pressing that switch recalls Snapshot 3. You then switch to Snapshot 3 and set the same switch to recall Snapshot 6. Recall Snapshot 6 and set the switch to recall Snapshot 2. Finally, you recall Snapshot 2 and set the switch to recall Snapshot 1. Now, you go back to Snapshot 1 and begin pressing the switch. Each successive press recalls the assigned Snapshot and you would cycle Snapshot 1 > 3 > 6 > 2 > 1 > 3 > 6 > 2 and so on for each switch press. NOTE: this assumes that the Snapshot Edits global is set to Recall. If it's set to Discard, you'd have to save the preset after each set in order for the changes to stick Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, When you can’t figure it out, it’s time to consult the HX Effects 3.0 Owner’s Manual - Page 37 > Split A/B Settings https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a411710a6112a67116f0b/application/pdf/HX Effects 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev C - English .pdf You could assign an Expression Pedal to sweep between Path A & B, or use a foot switch, or Snapshot to do the job. Here’s a video showing how it works using a Helix, although the technique is the same for all HX products. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Prior to doing any firmware update on your hardware it is seriously recommended that you read the relevant Release Notes. For example, the v3.15 notes state: Anything else I should know? Yes. We STRONGLY recommend performing a factory reset AFTER UPDATING your Helix/HX firmware to 3.15 and THEN RESTORING YOUR BACKUP. (Backing up is part of the update process). Here's how to perform a factory reset. IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP FIRST, AS A FACTORY RESET WILL ERASE ALL YOUR WORK! Helix Floor/LT: While holding footswitches 9 & 10 (bottom row, 2 middle switches), turn on Helix Floor/LT Helix Rack: While holding knobs 5 & 6 (2 furthest right knobs below the screen), turn on Helix Rack HX Effects: While holding footswitches 6 & TAP (2 farthest right switches on the bottom row), turn on HX Effects HX Stomp: While holding footswitches 2 & 3, turn on HX Stomp HX Stomp XL: While holding footswitches C & D, turn on HX Stomp Hope this helps/makes sense.

Simple! All the outputs on that "BOGNER + DI FUZZ" preset are set to XLR Out. If you have no monitors on the XLR out then you hear silence. Open the preset in HX Edit and change the output to Multi and you should be golden. I'm not sure why this particular preset is listed as Bogner, because the amp used is a Line 6 Epic model. Oh, yeah, it also has an IR in slot 79 that isn't supplied with the patch and there isn't any info as to what it should be. It's a very odd preset, IMHO. It has 3 paths all set for guitar input, but only the top path has the Amp/Cab and IR, the other paths consist of 8 effect blocks each. Three Snapshots all named "RED", 3 Whammy pedals, 3 Mod Chorus Echo blocks, and 3 Script phasers. Totally weird, but each to their own. Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: The guy who posted the Preset left a link to a video of this patch. In the comments he mentions the patch started out as one made by Glen Delaune (he sells presets) and he offered to send a guy the IR. This is probably a bad thing as the copyright on the IR may belong to Glen. Oops!

Hi, Short answer - No! As you are aware, you can change the colours of the LED rings, but the screen panels remain black and white. Hope this helps/makes sense.

The Recover from update failure routines have been posted on this forum more times than I wish to remember. When asking for assistance from other users, it's a big help to know exactly which HX hardware unit, you are trying to update, along with your computer and OS. I'm going to guess it's a Helix floor model, and that the firmware that it had installed (prior to your failed attempt to update) was v2.80 or earlier. That would probably be the reason for the "Boot Failure" message. I really do keep saying that I will stop doing this, but... Let’s give this one more shot - Recover from failed update procedures v.3.15 First - remove all prior installations of Line 6 HX Edit - on a Mac ensure there are no aliases pointing back to an earlier version. Now go to the "DOWNLOADS" menu at the top of this page and from "- Choose Hardware -" select Helix, then under "- Choose Software -" select HX Edit, now select your PC/Mac OS from under the "- Choose OS -" tab, then click “Go”. From the next page you can select HX Edit 3.15 for your Helix, repeat the download procedure for the Firmware v.3.15 Flash Memory, and the Line 6 Updater version 1.25. Download all these items to your computer and note where they are. Unplug the USB cable from both your computer and the Helix, then turn the Helix off and then on again while holding down Foot Switches 6&12 while turning the power on. This will put your Helix into “Safe Boot” mode, at this point you may see a black, or error screen, but just keep going. Ensure that HX Edit is closed and reconnect you Helix to your computer with a known good USB cable - do not use a hub, some front USB ports on PCs act like a hub, so use one of the ports on the back. Ensure you are disconnected from the internet, also Shut down all Line 6 software or any programs that use audio, like DAWs, iTunes, Spotify, video games, etc. If your computer's sleep timer is set relatively short, disable it, as the update can fail if your computer goes to sleep. Make sure external devices are not currently sending MIDI to Helix/HX. If you're unsure, unplug Helix/HX's MIDI IN port. Now launch the Updater Utility that you downloaded earlier, and then select "Offline Mode". Your Helix and current firmware version should now show up in the window, click on the dark green coloured band and you should now have the option to select a local file - click “Choose File”, point it at the Flash Memory file you downloaded and let it get on with the update. If you are updating from a firmware version prior to v.2.80 the installation may appear to happen twice - this is normal as the Core operating system is being modified. When it completes, you need to perform a factory reset on your Helix, then you can install the new HX Edit v.3.15 software, perform a restore from backup using the file you created before starting the failed update, and you should be good to go. Please note: After you complete the restore from back up, you will notice that the next time you restart the hardware, it will run the “Rebuilding Presets” routine. This is perfectly normal as it ensures that all you older presets are optimised for use in the new firmware. Also, any time you install a preset created with an earlier version of the firmware (e.g. a preset downloaded from CustomTone, etc.), the Rebuilding Presets function will run again after the next restart - this is an expected housekeeping routine for the unit. No guarantees are given or implied, you do this at your own risk. If it doesn’t work, raise a ticket with Customer Support - you may have a hardware issue that cannot be resolved by anyone in this user forum. Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: It also helps to read the Release Notes for the Firmware Update

Hi, I think that I covered this topic, or one very similar, in another thread on here, earlier today. See if my reply to this also applies to your situation. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, You could simply type: "5V USB power cable compatible with Line 6 Relay G10 Wireless receiver" into Google and see what it finds - like this one. https://myvolts.co.uk/product/35052/USB_to_5V_DC_power_cable_compatible_with_the_Line-6_Relay-G10_Wireless-receiver Hope this helps/makes sense. -

Hi, If you only need to have a clean and distorted tone while recording, the the easiest solution is to set up your Helix to record both the processed (distorted) tone and a completely clean unprocessed D.I. signal simultaneously in your DAW. That way you can re-amp the direct injected unprocessed audio back through your Helix hardware and re-record the new tone in your DAW. This technique is even easier if you buy a copy of the Helix Native plug-in for your DAW, enabling you to re-amp as many different options as you wish, without having to reconfigure your hardware inputs. If you have recently bought and registered your Helix, you are entitled to buy Native at a discount price of $99.99. Information regarding re-amping can be found in the Helix 3.0 Owner’s Manual- Rev F - English - USB Audio - Pages 68-71. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f041b611d61cac763b/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev F - English .pdf Here’s Pete Thorn with a brief demo using Logic Pro. Here’s a video from Jason Sadites showing re-amping in action with Reaper and Cubase. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Got it to load then?

I had a quick look at your history and you don’t seem to have much success using this stuff. You didn’t say what piece of hardware was having the problem loading the IR. I know you have a Helix floor because you had issues trying to figure out how to put it into 10 foot switch mode when using Command Centre. From the Helix 3.0 Owner’s Manual - Rev F - English - Page 38 ”IR File Reference Once an IR block is configured to utilize an IR index slot that includes an imported IR (.wav or .hir) file, and the preset then saved, the preset creates a “reference signature” to the imported IR from its file name. Likewise, if you save your IR block as a Favorite (see "Adding a Block to Favorites" on page 17) or set the IR block’s current settings as the User Model Defaults (see "Saving a Model’s User Default Settings" on page 18), the IR bock also creates a reference to the specific IR file within your IR library. Therefore, if you re-order IRs within the IR library list, your preset (or IR Favorite or User Model Default block) will still intelligently reference the originally associated IR file, even if it now resides in a different IR Library index location. This also makes it easy to share your presets with friends since they can then insert the same IR file in any slot within their Helix IR library, and the preset will find it. Please also refer to the HX Edit Pilot’s Guide for additional info regarding the use of IRs.” link: https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f041b611d61cac763b/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev F - English .pdf And here is the Pilot’s Guide https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f1049f61fd3077f0eca/application/pdf/HX Edit 3.15 Pilot's Guide - English .pdf Have fun trying to “krack” the protection - I really don’t think you should have mentioned that in here. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Well, it’s not just Line 6 specific EXP pedals - Mission also make them for Kemper, Eventide, Roland BOSS, and Quad Cortex to name few. Outrageously expensive for what is essentially a variable resistor that you work with your foot. Get the soldering iron warmed up!

Hi Mike, You can play back any of your soft synths through your Helix floor via the USB. I have also the the Arturia V collection and when recording in Logic the whole stereo output from Logic plays back through the Helix on USB 1&2, bypassing all the onboard Helix effects and playing out to my monitors on the Helix XLR. If you wish to have the soft synths on a separate path, as you do with the analogue hardware, set them to send on USB 3&4 from your MacBook, and set input for the second path to receive USB 3&4. That way you can add effects from your Helix floor to the synth signal if you wish. Hope this help/makes sense.

Hi, As noted by "silverhead" in the post above - check your settings and report to the Customer Support - they cannot fix it if they don't know.. Not sure what is happening for you - I went straight to it, (from the Downloads menu at the top of this page, then select Helix Native from under the "Choose Software" menu, then Windows 10 from under the "Choose OS" option then click "Go")and i downloaded the correct file without any issues. Try this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lpx66fy5yszmzmr/Helix Native v3.15 Installer.exe?dl=0 Hope this helps/makes sense.
-
Hi, You are not being very clear about what is happening here. You obviously had Native installed at some point because you say you have the old version, but you don't say into what DAW the Native plug-in was previously installed. If you download the correct update, then you should have "Helix Native v.3.15 Installer.exe" on your computer - ensure that you are running that installer. During the installation process you should be able to see that the correct version is being installed. If you still have the same problem then possibly you need to remove the old version first, if you computer is failing to update that one. I did see on fix on here for a similar issue, but that was with Windows 11. You could try the Widows 11 fix. Folder 1: \ProgramData*\Line 6\Helix Native Folder 2: {user folder}\AppData*\Roaming\Line 6\Helix Native "Once I deleted these two folders and reinstalled everything has been smooth sailing, hope that helps someone else!" Hope this helps /makes sense.

It’s not exactly your vision but, with the XL Stomp, there is an option to add external footswitches as FS7 and FS8, although if you already have an EXP pedal in there, then it wouldn’t work. Quote from the Owner’s Manual. ”Alternatively, you can add one (or with a Y-cable, two) external footswitches to access additional stomps, presets, snapshots, etc. (FS7=tip, FS8=ring).” The function of the external switch’s can then be set via the Global settings. Hope this helps/makes sense.
