Yep, even some of the local music stores are that way. I have to say Sweetwater is great. Your sales engineers knows what they are talking about, and stay up to date on their products. They have great service. Cause if they don't know something they will find out. I can call up, or email, my sales engineer with questions regarding equipment I didn't even buy from them.

Regarding fizz... I usually cut a couple/few dB from around 4.1khz, and 8.1khz with decently high "Q" settings while keeping my total high cut for the patch a bit higher. It varies, but that is a common approach I take. That said, I would not be against L6 adding some sort of Fizz Eliminator specific EQ block (like mentioned above). He'll, I even mentioned the same thing a while back on these forums. May even be on Ideascale. lol give it a ridiculous name like "Fe-Fi-Fizz-None."

How to make delay level increase as I play more gently?
Lachdanan0121 replied to FPFL's topic in Helix
Although I don't use them much, this does sound like the job for a ducking delay. So I would start with one of those. -
As much as I would like new Models in the next firmware update, along with the expansion of HX reverbs... I would really like to see a meter on input (and output) as well as clip indicators on each & every block in the chain. I know I am not alone in this. Obviously you couldn't have them just flash red. The dynamic blocks, and amp/cab blocks are red by default. Perhaps a blinking red box that surrounds the effect block that clips almost like the indicator of the one you have selected.

I wouldn't mind more than 128 slots for IRs, but I know I am just being a bit greedy there lol. :)

Helix 2.0 sure. But I don't think we will even see an announcement of the successor to the Helix for a couple more years still. Perhaps 2020. Any sooner than that is even shorter than a gaming consoles life cycle. I expect Line6 still has a few things to show us with the Helix lineup.

Yep, and it seems like there is overall less presence in these forums now after the "upgrade." Less people are willing to navigate this mess. AT this point I am basically just checking it to see if there are any announcements that I want to know about like firmware releases, or other plans.
-
Another thing I noticed, and don't like... When you click on a thread you have already read, but has new posts, it no longer takes you to the newest post. You have to manually scroll to it.
-
I would not call what they did to the forums an improvement. It was a lateral move at best, and a step backwards in some areas.
-
It's a bit of a jumbled up mess compared to the way it was organized before. We now have threads that haven't been posted in for a couple of months right out in front. Not too sure I care for it.

Mix affects dry/wet level. I assume you are running them parallel. You can blend them with that split, or you could blend them by adjusting their "level" parameter in the IR blocks individually. Just lower the level in the cab that you want less from, and adjust to taste.

At least there is word on it.

... And it will continue to.

I voted for metering/clip indication on Ideascale a while back.

Oh of course. One of the many reasons I love my Fabfilter Pro Q2. Visual aids are very helpful even if the ears are the final judge.
-
Other than the clip indicators I could really use the threshold indicator you speak of for when the compressor kick in.Those are the two that would help me most. The EQ display would be very helpful too. The RTA would be least helpful for me personally, as I do all my work in my DAW, and have plenty there. So I am kinda glad it is the least likely to be added of the above suggestions, but I wouldn't be upset if they did add one. 😉
-
All of that would be fantastic "honestly."(pun intended) But I don't see all of that being implemented, though I would love to be wrong about that. 😊 Though I think that clip indicators on each block would be a tremendous move in that direction, maybe a bright red box flashing on the block that has a clipped input, and a yellow box flashing on the block that has a clipping output. I would be satisfied with that, but the other stuff you mentioned would be cool too.

This, oh yes, this would be a great help!

Exactly, for the most part (as there may be rare exceptions) digital cables either work, or they don't.

All "faith" is blind. There is a return policy, so not much faith needed. 45 day if I remember correctly. Falls more under benefit of the doubt for me, as I am not a person that confuses faith to be some sort of virtue. However, I understand your reservations on it, but 45 days, or even 30 days, should be more than enough to evaluate. EDIT: I just checked, they have a 30 day money back guarantee. I would have had to do the same with a Strat unless I found one on the wall at a shop, with semi fresh strings, and relatively setup well... And that just doesn't happen around here. As far as the guitar it is easily my favorite Strat style guitar. I love playing it. You can get a Strat sound out of it, however it has its own unique voice. It's beautiful too, which you can tell that from the pics on the site. I highly recommend the Z-glide neck option. He is offering baritone options now, I think. The moment he does superstrats I will be ordering another.

Is HxNative getting a bug fix like Firmware 2.52?
Lachdanan0121 replied to Lachdanan0121's topic in Helix Native
I am not sure that I have, I was largely just curious. Not sure on the answer to your second question. -
Is HxNative getting a bug fix like Firmware 2.52?
Lachdanan0121 replied to Lachdanan0121's topic in Helix Native
"In rare cases, pitch artifacts may be heard on selected delay blocks when the Time parameter is set to Note Sync values higher than 1/2 Triplet." That is listed under "known issues" in the newest update that was pulled. I understand if the update won't come to Native since it was pulled. I guess I was mainly asking if the above "delay pitching issue" is only an issue in the hardware, or also present on Native? If it is also present in Native, will the next update address it? -
Or are these bugs (such as the delay pitching issue) only present in the hardware?

I know I am bumping this thread, but I felt compelled. I have been spending some time with the Cartographer amp model, and it is fantastic. I have a few different guitars, but the one I am using with the Cartographer atm is a Dean Zelinksy Tagliere. (Strat like) I named her "Ember." I am dialing in a lead guitar part. I was pleased with the amp when I first used it, however, I was able to really dial it in using Helix Native, and a little automation. (I love Native for this) This has become one of my favorite models in the Helix, and this lead tone is probably the best I have ever dialed in for this guitar. I prefer having gain1 a little higher than gain2, and like running it parallel with two 3Sigma Audio IRs (both Dr.Z 2x12 ACE -- 1 tube, 1 solid states) So I just wanted to say Thank you to Ben Adrian, and to Line 6, for including this treasure of an amp model. I'd say most of the models added since launch are quite phenomenal. Looking forward to more. ☺

Panning Your HxN Guitar Within a Stereo Track
Lachdanan0121 replied to soundog's topic in Helix Native
Cool, I am gonna direct someone to this post, who was asking about this in a thread (on here) some time back, by posting him a link to this thread. I am sure he is subscribed to his own thread.
