  1. Admittedly, it took me a long time and perseverance to get to this point and I'm pretty sure I can learn more, lol. If you decide to revisit it and have questions I may be able to shed some light on it for you. Keep in mind when I started in '08 I had no musical experience other than listening to the radio. My record collection consisted of 3 albums, I think. I don't have them anymore but I know "KISS" Platinum, Brownsville Station"Yeah!" and The Archies single which had "Sugar Sugar" on it, lol.
  2. Always a Great Track from you "H"! Good thing ya came back 'cause it "Must be Funk'in Loney in Space" !
  3. Cool your back "H"! Ok group hug.......maybe not, lol. Carry On! :)
  4. Glad you got it going! I spent my fair share of time in the garden too, lol. Hope you have fun with it.
  5. Have you tried doing a reset? http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd/pod-hd-desktop-faq-r27
  6. Try the master at 50%. It supposed to be loud, after all it's a tube amp. I'm not digging on ya, we all started at some point. Also, have you tried low volume mode?

    DEP Parms

Such a rich post! Thus, you are "normal", lol, and yes I've run into those people, lol. Seriously though your quite intuitive "D". You know what's kinda funny? The post's title is "DEP Parms", Seems as though we aren't off topic, lol.
  8. Good point "I". It a bit suspicious but ya just never know. People do strange things. Personally, when I buy something I know what I'm buying and that I'm going to keep it. Unless it's a complete lemmon. I've been known to work through even the worse of problems with products only to be completely happy with them years later. I know and learn more that way. It's gotta be pretty bad for me to get upset, which at this point in life is pretty much non existent, lol. If I remember correctly only the tubes in my DT were hot which is normal for this amp, I think. I know tubes amps can vary quite a bit.
  9. Use instrument cable. Speaker cable is for the output from say a tube amp. I use 1/4 in guitar cables from my HD500 and X3 Pro 1/4 in out.
  10. Good Going! Now get that amp fixed.
  11. Sound like someones having fun!! Good going. I don't use workbench or a variax/jtv, but you make me wish I had one "A"! I'm sure you'll discover more new things as it sounds like so much can be done with what you got there. Rock On!!
  12. I would get that checked out if it's too hot. Like you said, how hot should it get in there? I know the tubes radiate quite a bit of heat as do the transformers. Ambient temp is an important factor. If your environment is cold it shouldn't get very hot if it warm I would expect it to get hot. Next time I fire up my DT50 I'll check with IR thermometer and record the ambient temp too. I suppose the more the volumes and drives are maxed the hotter it gets but I can't substantiate that. You could call Line 6 and ask them or do a support ticket. If anyone knows they will be the ones. When I first fired up my DT it had a faint electrical/paint smell that dissipated.

    DEP Parms

Normal is very hard to define when it comes to the human mind, lol. I have a hard time understanding why "normal" people have to bust their hump working to support those who are mentally incapacitated. Especially, when I see the mentally ill enjoying cigarettes and coffee, eating good food they don't even have to go out and buy or cook, living in a house that's maintained by someone else. Then to see those working hard to support them get ill or permanently hurt themselves doing so and ending up in a worse situation than the ones they're supporting, lol. What a cycle I say it's a conundrum. I should add: "All in the name of science!" Which I heard by a doctor who was in a wheel chair, fitted with a colostomy bag, and barely functional, who was getting ready to torture a patient with an instrument which basically electrocutes said patient repeatedly to get some reading that's supposed diagnose a nerve issue. This message will self destruct in 24 hours, lol.
  14. I didn't see that picture till now. Yep that tube looks like it took some punishment for sure. Time for new ones I think.
  15. I had to look back in an archived support ticket and the answer is yes I did. You should still ask them, the worst that can happen is they say no. I tried to sum up what happened in this recent post.
  16. Yeah hope he comes back, though I think he might be gone for a while, maybe he needs a break from this site or is making some music with a band, etc.

  18. All I know is I really like pod Farm 2.57 and I still use GearBox. I didn't have an XT but I have the X3 Pro is that similar?
  19. I wanted one of those Bugera V22's too, I thought it was an excellent value 'cause it really sounded good to me. Sounds like a pro! :) I like that set up. :)
  20. I didn't have my amp checked out, there really isn't any qualified repair facilities around me for this amp. I know that sounds strange but it happens. I think that the DT line is too perplexing for the average AMP doctor. How I found out I had issues was by using it. Keep in mind I never owned a tube amp before and I get a DT50 Head to start out, lol. So I read the manuals on it and have experience with a UX2, X3 Pro, HD500 and a Spider Jam. I first noticed in topology III the noise floor was loud enough I could hear it from 10 feet away with my Strat plugged in front.. So I played with it like that thinking maybe that's part of the high gain amp model. It sounded good to me so I jammed away with it for about 4 hours. I had to let it sit for a week or more then fired it back up and noticed a weird noise, but it worked and I played with it 'cause it sounded good to me even with that noise floor on topo III. I played with it for 8 hours straight that day. Most all my sessions with it were for long periods of playing. I continued playing with it for 4 months or so until one day I had weird noise followed by no sound. Looked down at the tubes and no light in the power tubes. I estimated I had close to a hundred hours on the amp at this point. I opened a support ticket and they suggested I take it a service center in the area except that fell short so I continued to find out what I could do to resolve it myself. Then I posted this: Thread I did my homework and found "AMP HEADS" had the instructions and tool for biasing a new set of matched tubes. I knew I would need to retube it in the future so I made the investment and did the tube job with new tubes that the amp came with, 2 x EL34EH and 2 x 12AX7EH. When I went to bias them I was getting a spread of I think 4 millivolts and I think the tubes were supposed to be the same since their matched so both tubes should have been 36mv except I was getting 32 and 36, which didn't seem right to me. So I buttoned it up, it worked, sounded good and I played with it for about 4 hours 'till it went quiet again, looked at the power tubes and no light. I check the all the fuses I could and they were all fine. So I opened a support ticket and got things going. I paid to ship it back to Line 6 in Calabasas,CA., they fixed it up under warranty and sent it back working better than it was when I first fired it up. I'm really very happy with Line 6. :) I suggest if anyone has a question about these amps post a thread and do a support ticket at the same time or you could just call them and ask them.
  21. Thanks Phil, I really just didn't know what to think. I agree with everyone else, he contributed so much to getting one thinking about whatever it was he found while using these devices. He got my my coconut milk stirred up :) Come on back "H"!!! We don't expect you to go full force. We all know there's more to life. Also, I didn't know one could delete ones profile completely. So he taught me something again. lol
  22. That's a good question, I would think you would need to but maybe not. You should call them or do a support ticket. They just did my DT50 Head with that TSB, a new board and new power tubes and man it sounds fantastic to say the least. Very quiet noise floor now, even on the high gain channels, amazing. Can ya tell I'm happy :).

    DEP Parms

LOL, Insanity indeed. Maybe you should start learning how to play with thimbles on each finger. :) Do like stumblinman suggested and superglue it. I have to admit I've superglued some large slices on my arms before, worked like a charm.
  24. That was a Great description Thanks!!
