DT50HD Output Suddenly Went Silent, Any Ideas Why? And More...
Brazzy replied to Brazzy's topic in DT50 / DT25
It took 4 weeks from the day I sent it to the day I received it. They had it for 2 weeks. Someone else shipped it for me ground UPS fully insured. If you mearure the girth and weigh it you can find out by calling your carrier. UPS store wanted 250 for 2 day fully insured, but did it Ground fully insured for 150. Good post and I see some good responses. I have s slew of flashable devices and have never bricked one of them. Many of them are from 2008 and still going strong. Ok I better knock on wood now. All kidding aside have a battery back up device (UPS) if you have frequent power outages. I've spun the bottle quite a bit and came out alive. I don't think I'll ever be done flashing some device.

DT50HD Output Suddenly Went Silent, Any Ideas Why? And More...
Brazzy replied to Brazzy's topic in DT50 / DT25
Ok, So far so good. I've played this amp on low volume mode for 4 hours straight and high volume mode for 4 hours straight and counting. I still need to put more time on it but for now I think it's fixed. The warranty job was a definate must. I'm going to mark it answered but report back. Add another 2 hours for LVM. 10 hours total. lol- 56 replies

I understand, which is why I asked before I just go and install more programs. I've got to the point where I need to know as much as I can about a program before I just trust it. Thanks!

Do you have the correct EXE file to share or the link to the correct program. That would be cool if it works. I gave up on that long ago.

DT50: Channel B quieter with loss of lower frequencies
Brazzy replied to noahgolden's topic in DT50 / DT25
You better check with Line 6 to see if your amp is one of those that need warrany work. It's important. I just had it done with mine and it's better than it was when it was new. Line 6 contact info You can do a support ticket located in your account too -
If you haven't tried this. Insert a noise gate at the beginning of the chain Fully close the thresh. Set the decay fully closed. Fully open the Amp model volume, you can also toy with the mixer. I've been able to work these controls to get a cleaner tail with sustain. You can slowly open the thresh and decay to see what gives and adjust the amp volume and mixer as need be. I feel it's possible to get it better than what you describe. Set input 1 to guitar and input 2 to variax. Pan center Path A Volume in the Mixer Mute Path B in the mixer. It's up to you to know the controls. The only way that can be done is with experience. In the end you may not like what you hear anyway. Hope this helps I agree with the others, it may be easier to work with an amp that's friendlier in this area.

Personally, I don't hink Line 6 needs to fix this. It works for me just fine. As long as I can figure a programs behaviour I can figure out how I need to use it. No problems here. Altrhough I'm all for improvement. 99% of the time I control everything directly from the Pod itself. I like the idea of knowing the Pod "itself better than a computer program. It's always good to try to fix the details, sometimes it's just not worth it. I would say that if Line 6 made their own "special" computer for a particular line of audio devices they would be able to fix all the little details easier. The idea I have here is they would be in full control of the OS.

I've done that procedure too with saving to the computer and then reopening it into edit and then sending and saving too. I just found it easier to do one at a time. I've experienced the delay in being able to rename. What I found is I have to point my cursor to the far left side of the name and click just once on it and it's ready. If I don't click on, say the first letter, it doesn't respond.

I would think that if the Edit Program is lagging something is consuming your computers resources or maybe the drivers didn't install quite right, I don't really know. Just throwing ideas out here. Mybe uninstall everthing and reinstall it all. You may want to read about optimizing your computer. Took me a while to understand the computer itself. Getting to know your computer is very important. It won't do it itself. Check out Optimizing

Looks that way to me.

I should mention that since the Pod is a "live sync", as I make changes I don't need to send it, all I do is save it on the Pod before I go to the next footswtich to create another.
-
My findings, - SEND the modified preset from the Edit program to the POD - before doing anything else, shut down the Edit program and disconnect the usb cable - now recall the Sent preset using the POD footswitches. What happens? The patch played as it was modified. - repeat the above, but this time after disconnecting, switch to a different preset on the POD before recalling the Sent preset. What happens? When I switched presets the modified patch looked good on the pod's screen but played like a blank patch. Result, I need to save it before changing the preset with a footswitch. Not a big deal but I do have to bend over to press the buttons which for me is painful, lol. BTW: Thanks for the suggestions & help silverface!

I know this system is finicky with the kind of card you use and you should format the card with the JM4, put it your computer and move the bin file in the right place on the card and it should go. This is good info but wrong subject. I think but maybe I'm not undestanding the OP correctly. Sorry if I'm wrong. Don't take it personal. :)

You're very humble. The way I look at tech is this, If I can figure out how use these devices and computers while dealing with all the bugs and quirks they dispense. I'm doing pretty good. Since it took millions of people to create them and their OS's, lol. Think about that for a minute, :) "Million of People" = Ok so I may be off a little, Hahaaa, but it's still mind boggling. Remember there's always the Manuals. Carry On <> Rock On!

I think it just sends it to the pod, you must save with the pod. That's what I do anyway. I don't think it's you.lol

I'm certainly not the say all end all, hopefully you get more reply's. When I feel up to it I like to try as much as I can with routing. I find it fun. When I take break from playing I play around with options.
-
You can go into the power amp of your amp. The output setting of the Pod should be set appropriately. Although you could try all the output settings. As far as the cable routings I think there's 3 ways you could do it. I do think you'll have more control with the 4CM though. You should just try a few different set ups to see what gives. I can't see it taking that much time.

That's what I use and it works great. I think it can be used with something like the HD500 to control midi in your DAW. For instance use it to control parameters in Pod Farm while recording into the DAW.

I now have 8 hours on it, Yes I just got it back. I try to post things while it fresh.

I feel this was directed toward my last post. I realize this is so true and I did not mention it. Although anyone reading and researching how to do anything on a tube amp that requires opening it up should be well aware of how to safely do it. There are so many ways to get the correct education on this that there is really is no excuse to be unaware and uneducated when come to doing anything one takes deep interest in. Patience is the key. It gives one the ability to be sure of his/her direction and the abilty to concentrate on any subject. I've witnessed many mistakes made by people who do not practice patience in learning. Even with this said I suppose there is no real way to prevent someone from doing the wrong things in life. Still a tech that is well educated could zap themselves to death just so someone can play a guiar or other instrument and amplify it. I say they are great people risking their lives to make some money and people happy. The definition of patience I'm using in this is as follows. This is an excellent idea:

If you click on this DT Edit Software link it will ask you to download the zip file.

What I did was just go with the AMP Heads Bias probe tester which makes it possible to see what both tubes are doing while your turning the bias pot. It's so easy to take the chassis out of the DT50 Head it's pointless for me to modify it. The most important thing is to put "Line 6 Approved Tubes" in it, IMO. This morning I've been playing with the head on Low Volume Mode to check that it works to my expectations as I've spent 4 hours on the High Volume Mode and am happy with it thus far. So far the LVM is working great and as expected. I've been using my noisey strat going right into the front Low and High inputs. I don't even need a noise gate.I've tried all of my other guitars with the good results too.
