Sounds like the sound card setting is boosted +18 db in the Line 6 Audio and MIDI settings. Check that out. That's too funny Phil. lol. Also, while your recording in Ableton you can see the waverform, is it's too fat for the window your likely clipping it. The signal indicators to the right will also indicate clipping by turning red. "H" has a good point too.

I think that sound was the power tubes draining off since you powered down with the standby switch on. I have a DT50 Head and always unplug my guitar from the front, turn the master volume to zero, wait a minute, then turn the standby off, wait a minute and then power down. I won't hear a peep out of it. Maybe your in the need of power tube replacement. Call Line 6 and ask them they've helped quite a bit. Or do a support ticket. Like the previous poster said check that fuse.

I've been one to modify the various things I've bought in my lifetime knowing that if I did so I would have to be responsible for the modification which indeed may render your warranty useless and in effect not being able to get help from the factory when/if needed. I've done quite a many warranty jobs in my early years and there are exceptions but they were few and far between. It's good to let someone know if a modification can help their particular problem and at the same time warn them what may happen to the warranty or any other thing it may effect. For example: If you shave the rubber stopper on the wah stomp switch in the HD Pod line it will make it easier to push but when that rubber stopper shrinks over time ('cause that's what rubber does over time and in different temps) it "may" be too easy or cause some other issue with the switch in the future. Rubber ages at the moment it's born so that stiffness may've been already taken into consideration by it's creator.

It's possible you had a corrupt patch or something freaky with the software. When weird things like this happened to me, which is non existent now but more frequent in the beginning, I would just re-flash the firmware and not save my old presets in case the corrupt patch was in there. Of course I would save patches taking note of the one I suspected as bad. You must also do the global reset and pedal calibration too.

Cunstometone is nice for saving patches, sharing and being able to review how a patch is put together but being able to build a tone from scratch is by far the best. -
Thanks for the refresher phil_m. :) I didn't know it could feel this good to be wrong, haha

Cool, I guess I was just thinking X3, my bad. lol

Good Deal!!! I had that issue quite a ways back. Forgot all about that setting.

Cool, glad ya figured out that adding a LINE6 folder to SD Card helped you.If you can format the card on the JM4 it should also do that for you. I wish I had a JM4 it looks like a good tool. And about that metalica backing track, if sharing I'm caring, lol. Seriously now That would be cool to have that track!! :) Thanks for offering. Rock On!

Nice Post! Your music sounds great. :) -
Thanks Man, I'm glad I still have the X3 and HD can pair together well. I hope you get what's on your wish list. :)

I love those pictures, lol. I still use my X3 Pro almost every day, along with my HD500 & KB37. Since I recently added a simple Xenyx Q802 USB mixer to my tool box I'm having more fun. Even the UX2 gets use on another computer.

Good question. Just dive into it yourself or send it to someone who does this sort of thing. I wonder what the charge for that job would be...wait I'm afraid to ask, lol. Remember if it's not broke don't fix it. I don't think a little crack in the lens is a big deal.

Glad ya got it! and No prob. You patch sounds Great!!

It's good to have a back up man!. Since the DT is down you might want to try the 4 cable method with your Vetta II, if you haven't already.

Is it possible we can get your techs contact info in case we run into a transformer issue in the future?
-
I don't think so and I wouldn't rely on it.
-
Have you tried calling a Line Tech yet? You could do a support ticket too. You could also try post try posting it in the Lounge.
-
Open a support ticket and get ready to send it in.
-
Good Post, I understand you wholeheartedly. I can also understand this. If they fix all those all those details those pods will look like large gold nuggets. lol
