Really?!! You don't know what happened? This is a sad day! You don't think he was banned do you? His SoundCloud is gone too...

Sometimes I intentionally put myself and those around me to sleep when I play guitar, lol.

Good Going!! My motto is try everything once when it comes to sound. It's important to remember to give the ears a break and come back to reevaluate the tone. Sometimes stepping away is important. Those settings do change things and should be toyed with occasionally to remember how they affect tone. I don't how anyone could possibly remember everything they do when building a tone without taking notes or something of the like, lol.

I use a Spider Jam and/or DT50 Head/DT25 Cab. Usually I just go into the front of the Spider Jam with Combo Front. With the DT50 I use the L6 link but sometimes I go into the front of that too. I'm going to be trying the 4 cable method soon to see what gives. Suppose I should try going into the power amp section too, 1 thing at a time, lol. When I monitor with phones using Pod Farm and recording into RiffWorks or other DAW I use inexpensive headphones, Ear Candy ear plugs, Bose AE headphones, Beryerdynamic DT990 open backed headphones and sometimes the above amps. I also have Jet City Picovalve and JCA12S+ Cab. I recently blew up a set of Coby headphones and can't believe they lasted through a year of punishment, lol.

I'm right with you when you said I need to learn. Hope you get it fixed sooner than later. Please let us know how it goes.

This thread is full of good opinions about the "Hum" option. The links I posted are of "Lemmings" A Satire of Woodstock and contains some vulger language, you have been warned. Turn it up.....turn it down......what the hecks the difference once the head blows up. :) Not sure this has any relevance but.....Farmer Yassir always has the final word @ 29 min. LOL This Album is purty old now.

The manual tells the story.

try it, it works. I use a Modkitdiy Persuader in front or in the FX loop sometimes.

Some great ideas flowing on this thread!! Good thinking everyone and thanks for sharing. I may or may not use any of these ideas but it's all really good to know.

Yeah, You ain't kidding. I've been fortunate to enter into the guitar world after the stomp box era. I've never had to deal with many stomp boxes, wires and amps. Ok, so I have a couple of amps but most of the clutter is in the Pod, and since I never used stomp boxes before I'm not really missing anything. Did I mention I love the sound I get out of the DT50 Head/DT25 Cab all by itself?!! Amazing capabilities with this stuff. Then If I want to get into it I just plug in the HD500. Ok, so I've had some growing pains and am still learning how to use computers, digital models of amps/effects, guitars, keyboards and in the turmoil/mix try to find that musical inspiration but that's why it's called a journey. I've even had a hardware issue with the DT50 but Line 6 took the bull by the horns and fixed it, and I still like the tone and capabilities it has. Thank You Line 6 I'm enjoying that amp right now. I've got to be truthful, I expected some glitches, 'cause my entire life was full of problems. Problems with mechanical things of all sorts. Thinking hard to figure out whats wrong, why it broke and fabricating a new piece of whatever it is that needs fixing to a better standard. This leads to innovation, which leads to new products, which keeps the coconut juice splashing around that coconut of mine, lol. Carry On! Rock On!

UX2 doesn't get instrument input
Brazzy replied to kurgal's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
I'm not sure you might be able to open Monkey and reinstall the firmware. Again I'm not sure, but you can check. I checked with my KB37 and you should be able to reinstall the flash memory. Other than that I don't know off hand.- 1 reply

Have you tried taming them with a volume pedal after one or comp. Or have you tried using the mixer volume and/or a volume pedal after the amp and mixer? I agree they are pretty potent most of the time depending on which amp you use. Volume tools are the key here IMO. Compressors can work but induce noise at the same time. The amp models vary quite a bit in volume so the mixer is a key tool. Keep in mind that in real life all the different amps have different volumes. Obviously there's more gibberish involved but I like to look at the amp models and all the effects models as a microscopic image and my job is to hone in on it. Each amp and effect model in the Pod needs to be "honed in on". I look at the Pods Mixer and Volume pedals as the lens on a microscope which allows me to fine tune in essence focusing in on the core tone of the model. In the end it's whatever works. LOL :)

Looks good. It's nice to be able to check it with an ohm meter too. It really looks good though. Sounds like your in for a re-tube.

Your Welcome. Hope you get what you need. I just did that with my DT50 and I heard that click ever so faintly.

I know the manual says it's ok to power down with the standby on so that's no big deal but it also says it's good practice to turn it off before so that it's already off when you go to power up next time. Check this thread out I think it has the link to getting the fuse. http://line6.com/support/topic/10327-dt25-head-dead/ More Specific: Read the whole thread, you may be going through the same thing.

I've found that the volumes in general are very crucial to getting a good tone. Even just putting a volume pedal after the amp and mixer and then just adjusting that has a good effect, but the Amp volume, Mixer volume seem most important. Of course there's more to it than that but in all the volumes are a crucial adjustment.

Is this the first time you've run into this? Have you had better results results recording with another program or is this the very first time you've recorded. It's possible something is wrong that can't be fixed with software settings. Maybe you should call Line 6 or do a support ticket. Also what does your set up consist of? What computer and OS. etc.
