jyanes
So we are starting to receive our units and I was wondering what everyone was going to use as far as a carrying case? Anyone know of any cases specifically for the helix?
thomasjg
There is a Helix branded bag that Line 6 will offer. I am not sure what to use yet. I am going to wait and check out the Line 6 Bag. It is a backpack and supposed to be really heavy duty.

cuch
I just picked up this one... XSPRO XKB-32 Gig Bag for Micro Controllers (24" x 15.5" x 4") 3 Compartmentshttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L961JAY?keywords=XSPRO%20XKB-32%20Gig%20Bag%20for%20Micro%20Controllers&qid=1444242085&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1 My helix came this morning, but I was at work so FedEx took it away. I called they're coming back at 6:00pm tonight. The dimensions leave some room for some extras also. The Helix which has the following dimensions: 22.05 x 11.85 x 3.6 inches; 14.6 lbs I'll come back with an update after I've had a chance to pair the two. BigRalphN
I ordered the Mono bag/case I posted above. I should have ordered sooner as I want t use the Helix at church Sunday morning.I don't think my old boat anchor road case is wide enough and it would need modified even if it was. The Rondo stuff is nice with a little extra foam but I really like the padding and ease of carrying the Mono. At 14 pounds the Helix could make handles on a standard road case awkward and uncomfortable. I did my roadie time in the 80s and have nightmares of road cases! AParedes
for people looking for a more robust solution: the L6 Product Specialsts have two different cases that we are currently using: 1: Pedal Train PT3 - fits/works fine (and has wheels) - downside is that with only the board and HX the case weights ~48 lbs, which can make it tough when you have to drag it around in an airport http://www.amazon.com/Pedaltrain-PT-3-HC-24-Pedalboard-Hard/dp/B0051G3ZNM/ref=sr_1_2?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1444416066&sr=1-2&keywords=pedaltrain+pt3 2: the SKB i-series "gun" case - much lighter than the PT3, downside is that you have to cut the foam (it is not cubed), so have a sharp cutting tool and take your time. http://www.amazon.com/SKB-3I-3614-6B-L-iSeries-Inches-Layered/dp/B004ZX64DU

Unless it's just something the manufacturer bizarrely fails to mention, would this not mean that you'd need to crouch to pull the thing along? I'm really missing something I know, but help a slow person out.
BigRalphN
Guys. Call Andy at Sweetwater and get one of these http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/M80PedalTour He recommended it to me and it is awesome. I got the last one but they are getting more. Super quality and near perfect for the device. It has abs in the sides, back, etc in addition to the padding. It is not super cheap but is very protective and easy to carry. I have had numerous Rondo cases. No issue with them, but I prefer this for ease of carrying. If I had gotten from Rondo I would spend the extra $40 and get the heavy duty 1000 model. spawn2031
I think I would trust a case like what Radatats got for protecting a $1500 pedal board. The other ones that Andy suggested seem way too overpriced in comparison.

I believe in Mono cases enough that even before I received the Gator GClub 25 Control case (which is $70.00 cheaper) that I ordered last week...as soon as I found the Mono M80 Pedal Tour case, I ordered one. I received the Gator case today and the Helix fits great, but I guarantee the Mono case is worth the extra money.

What strikes me with the mono is the quality and strength. Heavy rivets, extra stitching, added padding etc. The handle is a beast and needs to be. The Helix got pretty heavy carrying it around Sunday.

The Gator is a nice case and for those who don't want to spend the extra money it's definitely a good solution.....but I much prefer the Mono. It's a better built case, much stronger, better handle and better shoulder strap. I am using the Helix (and case) at least twice a week, sometimes 3 times a week. I'm not sure the Gator would hold up to that much use...but it might.

Roberttheprole
Nice case suggestions, thinking I'll have to get a custom $$$ built case (if all works out with helix), for I still have my loopers and whammy (seeing as the helix wham just doesn't cut the mustard - with my heavy use of 5ths) so needing 40+'' by like 20+'' i know i know i've gone loopy.. theKennyG
I used 3M Dual Lock to mount my helix to a flat board. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007OXK1AK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 It worked perfectly and did not require removing any feet. Also, it's been my experience that this stuff removes very easily leaving a hardly any (if at all) glue residue to clean off. Just used two long strips across the bottom and it's solid as a rock. Elkinz
Yo guys! I scooped up a UDG case for my helix over the weekend and its a fantastic fit with heaps of side padding. https://www.udggear.com/udg-urbanite-midi-controller-sleeve-large-black Really happy with it! and it was pretty cheap as far as cases go here in New Zealand.I wanted the Mono m80 but it was gonna cost me like $300-350 to get it brought into New Zealand. :(
