  1. For connecting to Workbench, it will only work using the VDI cable. 1/4" TRS won't work.
  2. Always make certain the speaker loads and amp outputs are matched, 8 Ohm output to 8 Ohm speakers, 16 Ohm output to 16 Ohm speakers. Never power up a tube amp without a speaker load plugged in.
  3. It's not just voltage, it's drain rate. Drain rates need to match. Need to use the specified part. Using a non-specified part can void the warranty. If it's out of warranty, then all I can do is wish you luck.
  4. Might be a failed tube. Should be looked at by a tech. Should be okay when it's done.
  5. Make sure the amp is registered in your account, then log a support ticket.
  6. @ Sgogo,... Does it do Open A when it's set for Standard tuning, or the opposite when in Open A? @ Jd19848,... Make sure your product is registered, then log a support ticket in your account. Also here is a link to find service centers in your areas,... http://line6.com/find/service_center/
  7. jbuhajla is correct. I see nothing in the unit to indicate phantom power capability. Should be instrument level output. Phantom power is for condenser mics at mic level outputs. So don't phantom power it.
  8. @ banjogil,... Check with Line 6 support on warranty aspects. If it's something simple, any Line 6 authorized guitar service center can deal with it. If it's something more involved, it can come to me and I'll deal with it, as I'm the guitar repair guy at Line 6.
  9. 1- It may be nothing more than a intermittent solder point. Have the authorized shop check that out. If they are Line 6 authorized service, they will have access to service info, our service partners in the region, who would in turn, can consult me,... if needed. 2- Unfortunately, Full Compass doesn't ship to the Euro. He would have to have a friend or other 3rd party ship to him from the US. Or source the part there though our service partners. 3- 35-00-0321-1 is an un-populated, un-stuffed board (no parts on it, bare board) for a JTV-69.
  10. Sovtek 5881WXT matched set for the power tubes. They need to be properly biased by an authorized tech who knows our product. 12AX7B China, Sovtek or EH 12AX7 for the pre-amp tubes. Frequency of replacement,... gigging musicians once every 12-18 months, weekend warriors every 22-months, bedroom rock stars can get away with every 24 months. Nuances in the characteristic curves between manufacturers, and whether soft, medium or hard,... make all the difference. These are not all analog tube amps of the 1960's and 70's. Can't get away with swapping tubes willy-nilly, without problems, so don't do that. Keep your fingers out of the insides of the amps, as the shock hazard is great. It really hurts when 200V capacitor discharges into your hand,... even with the power unplugged. So, don't do that.
  11. Yeah, it's that "dual tone effect" I mentioned earlier. Kody and I listened to the sound clip. Good recording job, made it easy for us to figure out. Thanks.
  12. Log a support ticket. If there is no plate-volts, then something wrong and should be looked at by an Line 6 authorized tech who knows the product.
  13. Might want to check with http://www.cunningham-photo.com/DTCustomizer/ as that is a 3rd party app.
  14. Warbling is a result of pick-up height distance between the pick-ups and the strings. The pick-up height needs adjusting. Also make sure the DC or bulk resistance spec of the pick-ups is between 6k and 8k Ohms, or warbling can occur, along with current draw issues on the processor board circuitry (which might affect battery drain rate when using the battery). String trees are a good way to adjust the "breaking angle" of the strings from the nut to the tuning posts. Not an end all, be all solution, but it helps in certain circumstances.
  15. If the intonation was off, it would generate a whistling howling sort of sound. With Alt Tune capabilities, intonation is even more crucial, an precision tuner such as a Peterson is necessary. And should not be intonated while in Model mode. There is also "dual tone effect" to consider,... hearing the standard tuned pitch off the string and thru the Alt Tune pitch thru the amp, at the same time. If the Alt Tune warbles, it may also be a problem with the pick-up height distance between the pick-up and the strings. Higher strings (G, B, Hi-E) typically do not need intonation adjustments as much as the lower strings do. It's a string physics thing discussed in a number of guitar repair books and magazine articles. First need to determine what part of the set-up needs adjusting. Each part of the set-up is interdependent on the others. It isn't just one solution for everything.
  16. Log a support ticket. Definitely sounds odd that it would do it that way. I might have to have a look at it. We had a day where there were a couple of meetings going on.
  17. Use only specified tubes. These are not all analog tube amps of yester-years (a la circa 1960's and 1970's). Can't go doing tube swaps like that. The analog and digital section need to play nice with one another. Do not do tube swaps with anything other than the specified tubes. I see way too many come across my repair bench because of that. Don't do that. Use the specified 5881WXT (preferably Sovtek) power tubes and 12AX7 (preferably Sovtek). Check the Knowledge Base for bias instructions, should be +35mV(dc), +/- 2mV.
  18. Seen this once or twice back in the 1970's when I crew for a rock band.It was weird then too. But then, it was the 70's and this band toured a lot. Problem turned out to be a combination of things,... a grueling tour schedule, across a variety of climates, the guitar player liked good tension on his strings (so set-up was part of it) and he used cheap strings. Problem was worse on his double-neck 6/12 guitar.
  19. It will need to be looked at by an authorized service technician. Log a support ticket in your account and get authorization to have it serviced at an authorized service center in your area.
  20. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/general-faq/cleaning-pots-and-faders-r816 A Knowledge Base posting on the subject. Use a cotton swab, do not spray directly into it. And for heaven's sake, don't touch anything on the inside, or heaven is where you'll end up. Really embarrassing in heaven, telling them all that you ended up there because of something clumsy with a 200+ Volt line on an amp. Even more embarrassing when you tell them the amp was unplugged. Capacitance discharge into you really hurts, and it can kill, especially if you have a heart condition. The shock hazard is too great. Got zapped myself the other day pulling a circuit board out of one, bumped my elbow against the wrong thing. It hurt. Been doing this 40+ years, I still get zapped every now and then. So be careful applying contact cleaner in a valve amp (tube amp).
  21. That, or get it set-up for the gauge you want to use, your choice. Whatever fits your way of playing. Changing gauges changes the tension, and that changes the set-up. It's like that on all guitars. And these guitars have both piezos AND magnetic pick-ups, so that adds one more thing to consider when doing a set-up.
  22. Odd place to break. Some up with the tension somehow. A set-up issue most likely. Factory strings are D'Addario XL-110 (10-46), 9-gauge set will change the overall tension. The set-up should be checked by a Line 6 authorized service center in your area, as they will have access to service information, our customer support in your area and me.
  23. What gauge? Ball end or tuning post end?
