  1. Battery charging,... what crusinon2 said. That's in the user manual. Charger kit is used for recharging batteries. The cable and the LED's,.... you are using a TS (tip/sleeve) instead of a TRS (tip/ring/sleeve) cable connector in the 1/4" output jack???
  2. It's a good thing it's not an independent repair shop, or we wouldn't be involved. It's why there's a Forum and a support ticketing system, so that problems can be solved and ideas exchanged. We're here to assist.
  3. Long & McQuade's main service is in Pickering, Ontario. I'll forward this to our service manager to reach out to them regarding this. My guess is the Output Jack Assembly part might be back ordered. I'm waiting for some myself. Also, going into the support ticketing system and follow up on your last ticket. And contact,... Yorkville Sound 550 Granite Court Pickering, Ontario, ON L1W 3Y8 Tel: 905-837-8550 Fax: 905-839-5776 Web: http://www.yorkville.com
  4. I know a couple of techs at Yorkville, this is not normal. I and my colleagues will be looking into this. Our authorized service centers come thru for our customers. We don't take this sort of thing lying down,... in spite of what crus would have you think.
  5. You mean faulty output. Is it at an authorized service center? Is it at Yorkville? Which Variax do you have?
  6. Yes, he knows his stuff and Line 6 product. Thank you silverhead. "Ontari-ari-o" as the band Trent Severn would put it.
  7. Just checked with our set-up here at Line 6. The L3 T's and M's are meant to stack on the L3S sub, and not on top of one another. It's too top heavy, so don't stack T's and M's on top of other T's and M's, even with a sub on the bottom. And what silverhead said too. He knows his stuff.
  8. Someone on the Spider Valve MkII Facebook Group page did just that. Put a Spider Valve MkI combo chassis into a Spider IV HD-150 Head cab. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=489022704787704&set=gm.1670408032970681&type=3&theater&ifg=1 ... might want to pick his brain regarding that.
  9. Yes, I'm the guy at Line 6 who repairs JTV's, Standards and Shurikens, along with a host of other gear. Done my share of custom guitar work. Most I can do is try to keep everyone's trial and error down to a minimum of errors. So be aware of what all of you are getting into.
  10. There are many ways to impedance match. Should be left to a tech with experience and knowledge in this area. Line 6 does not endorse modifications, and I can't get deeper into circuit level aspects beyond this. Just here to make you aware of a few technology caveats. This is not something to be attempted by anyone not experienced with the in's and outs of this product. I see many to many failed attempts come across my repair bench.
  11. Ja, das ist sehr verbonten,... when running both signals thru the main board at the same time. Load and impedance issues. If it is the separate line he seems to suggest to the 1/4", detached from the main board, then that's an isolated circuit. It will still have to be impedance matched between the signal from the main board and the separate mag circuit. Will still have issues of controlling the signal levels. And Line 6 does not endorse modification of its products. So this is as deep as I can get into this, some advice of what not to do.
  12. It's do'able. Just need to be aware of a few things relating to phase, phase distortions and impedance, and know how to deal with it. Two signal paths with differing impedances, just have to make certain they are are correctly matched.
  13. For which guitar? Bypassing the main board will not allow control over engaging the pick-ups. And the signal will distort some, due to phase and impedance issues. An overall lack of control over your signal.
  14. 1.82b,... with that error code,... the main board needs to be replaced by an authorized service center. It's the only solution for that one, board locked up and is frozen. Log a support ticket in your account. If anyone in support has any questions, I'm across the hall from them. cluster,... what model guitar? What is the Flash version? Is it the same error, or just a MIDI time out? Here's the Knowledge Base on Flash updates on guitars to review, for anyone who needs to refer to it,... http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/guitars/james-tyler-variax-guitars/variax-reflash-and-software-update-instructions-r103
  15. http://line6.com/find/service_center/ .... for the one nearest you.
  16. seldon1 is correct. Definitely not something to deal with yourself. This problem is a bit deeper. Log a support ticket for a repair authorization.
  17. Since it is under warranty,... http://line6.com/find/service_center/ ... check for authorized service centers in your area. Steve Lamb's Lutherie & Repair in Fort Worth is one.
  18. 59 with a loose model selector,.... that definitely has to come to me. I'll need to deal with that one. That one is a different problem than what's going on with the 69. Log a support ticket.
  19. It's time I see it. Fortunately you're close by. Contact support thru the ticketing system in your account. I'll have to get under the pick-guard for this one.
  20. There's a link below in the message frame to upload attachments, with a 2MB file size limit. The hub probably has a DC supply. Works with hub, but not the interface direct,.... odd.
  21. NIce. "... knocked the thick gloss finish off with some Scotch Pad abrasive"--- let me guess, it's black, and you wanted it to be more like a 59 vintage Les Paul. Used to crew for the band Iron Butterfly, and their guitarist had a black '57 Les Paul like that. Nice! Just be careful not to nick or scratch a piezo in the the process (for anyone else who does that). Had a couple come across my repair bench because of that. So be careful.
  22. Factory reset is done by re-Flashing the guitar using Line 6 Monkey. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/guitars/jtvvariax-reflash-and-software-update-instruct-r309 Do not use USB hubs when connecting to Line 6 products.
  23. Check the Knowledge Base regarding that. Make sure you have the battery plugged in. It's to engage the battery during the update.
