  1. Connect it to Line 6 Monkey using the interface device,... not the Bass XT Live. The interface device is more direct, check the Firmware version. It may want an update, sometimes new boards like that need to have a wake-up call. What was the part number you ordered?
  2. Get with Line 6 support. There are spare interface set ups.
  3. Sounds like an internal, maybe multiple issue with the amps, it needs to be checked out by a tech who knows the product.
  4. You need be sure to use Line 6 Link, which is a 110-Ohm AES cable and not 50-Ohm mic cable. Needs to be serviced by an authorized service center who knows the product. Best to log a support ticket in your Line 6 account. This is not something you can fix yourself.
  5. Use the interface device and cables that came with the JTV-69, and connect to the computer with that, without the Helix. Try that.
  6. :) It's what I'm here for. Like I say, I'm here to needlessly keep your gear off of my repair bench. Enjoy. Rock on.
  7. http://line6.com/support/manuals/ ... if you don't have hard copy of the manuals, the link will take you there. It's best to start there so you will have an idea of what it is you have and what it does.
  8. @ EIPee714,... at this point I would recommend logging a support ticket in your account.
  9. If that doesn't do it, then it will need to go to an authorized service center. And they will need to email me. I'll need to check a couple things with them at that point.
  10. Good! Hit again a couple more passes. Make certain the battery has two or more LED's lit.
  11. Oh,.. looking at your serial number, you probably do have an early board. Do you recall what the firmware version that you originally updated from???
  12. Possible, but rare. Newer main board are more robust with that than the early ones.
  13. When it asks you if you want to save patches before continuing, click on "No". The last thing you want to do is save failed patches. That way, you get a fresh set of presets.
  14. Connect the way you normally would for Monkey update or Workbench HD with the the interface device and cables that came with the JTV. Unplug any USB hubs that may be connected. Insert a fully charged JTV battery into the compartment, then plug a stereo headphone adapter into the 1/4" jack. Listen for the click of the relay engaging. There should be two green LED's on the interface device. Check Line 6 Monkey for the Firmware version on the JTV guitar. If it is not v2.00 or higher, Workbench HD will not recognize the guitar. Once all this is completed, you should be able to open Workbench HD. Check the online Pilot's Handbook and the Knowledge Base on this subject for further details if needed.
  15. Sounds like "motor boating",... an internal component is failing, it needs to be serviced by tech who knows the product well.
  16. There is a difference between Workbench and Workbench HD. Make certain you are using the correct one.
  17. Workbench HD does not recognize earlier Variax guitars, only the original Workbench does.
  18. Workbench and Workbench HD are different. HD is for JTV v2.00 firmware and beyond. Original Workbench is for the earlier Variax series 300, 500, 600, 700, and Bass. HD won't recognize those earlier Variax guitars.
  19. Take it to a Line 6 authorized service center and have it serviced. Yes, definitely needs tubes changed out. Don't do it yourself, shock hazard is too great. They will know what to do and how to do it if it's one of the authorized service centers. Someone other than that and they might make some incorrect assumption about the amp.
  20. Warbling is usually a result of the pick-up to string distance adjustment. If it's more of a whistling howling, the intonation needs to be dialed in tighter. Have the set-up checked by a Line 6 authorized service center. Make certain your guitar is registered in your account.
  21. Check with your local stores, online retailers or the Line 6 website.
  22. ""Does a radius change affect the Variax electronics in any way?"--- Only if the radius differs from the piezo bridge radius beyond a certain point that piezo contact with the strings is affected. Never tried that, so I don't know where that point would be. And if the guitar is still under warranty, would advise against it.
