3V +/- 15%,... that is a standard of most regulator circuits used in the electronics industry. So the max would be 3.45V. Stay within that range. Not a good idea to mix-match battery types within a device. Not enough time or space here for me to explain why.

There is that threaded hole there, but it was never made use of. Design decision. Some of us scratched our heads over that one, but was rendered moot when the second gen bridge came out. Thanks. Mark is a good tech and a good mate, and knows how to rock. And the UK is my fave place, just ask Lynsey Shaw, Felicity Kendal or Mark Wright.

"... the first generation trem bars, although they are no longer available, did they have an external thread which screwed into the nut shown in my second picture?"--- Not able to bring up the photos on my screen. But the first generation Trem bar was not threaded (internal or external. "There are a number of threaded aftermarket bars available so I'm wondering if one of those would fit, unless of course Line 6 used a different thread to everyone else!"--- Haven't seen any compatible aftermarket ones yet, though they might be out there,... maybe. LR Baggs in conjunction with LA custom guitar designer James Tyler,... so I don't know off hand what 3rd party generic Trem bar would fit. No, afraid that Full Compass won't ship to the UK or the Euro. Those early ones were built pretty well. Once a second generation bridge is in and an updated board with the latest software, a few tweaks, and it'll be really solid. A number of people have gone that route. Returning it, getting another one is another option. Whatever is easier and works for you.

- First generation Trem bars are no longer available and did not have internal threading for locking on the botton of the Trem bar shaft. - The 30-00-0165 Trem bar set screw is still available. - There is a spacer fix for the knob that's better than stuffing paper inside. -Typically, it's easier and less trouble to just get a second generation bridge and a second generation Trem bar with the internal threading. It's what a number of people do. - Your being in the UK, check with Mark Wright at Mark Wright Music in Northampton. He used to be my opposite number when Line 6 had a location in Rugby. He knows these guitars as well as I do. There is also E&M Electronics in Milton Keyes near Bletchley, between Northampton and Luton.

Long & McQuade Saskatoon Servicing: Electronics,Guitars 437 2nd Ave. North Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, S7K 2C1 306-664-1966 saskatoon@long-mcquade.com ... is your best bet. These are not guitars with passive electronics in it. Best to leave it to a service center.

It will be under warranty. Take it to a Line 6 authorized service center in your area. That part is not a user serviceable item. You are using a fully charged battery when using the 1/4" output?

Black box display,... the main board needs to be replaced by a Line 6 authorized service center. Make certain the product is registered and then log a support ticket to get the process going.

Problemas spider Iv 120 cuadros negros en el display
psarkissian replied to ronnie28's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
(via Google Translate) -
"I'm also not sure that the correct rj45 cable has been included either. Should there be one with the round metal shrouds around the connector which match the output socket on the guitar."--- Using a different version of the cable now. And it's for using for Flash updates and use with Workbench HD,... and not for playing through. The VDI cable with Shrouded connectors on both ends is for playing through.

Loose connection somewhere. What cruisinon2 and davidb7170 said,... log a support ticket. -
JTV Firmware Update
psarkissian replied to the29band's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Just to clarify,... Helix v2.21 Firmware is not the same JTV v2.21 Firmware. -
Steve Howe has two DT50-212 amps, and a Blue 700 Electric. Adrian Belew,... transplants are a tricky and touchy thing to pull of. I done a few of them,... Carlos Rios (left handed player) and Stevic McKay (JTV-89) are among them. Transplants do sound different, as the body will have an affect on the tone color. You may or may not discern a difference.

Be careful of physically tuning down. There is a limit as to how far the processor can pitch track. And if there isn't enough tension on the string for good piezo contact, pitch tracking is also affected. It's typically something most don't consider, so be aware of that when physically tuning down. So like Triryche said, it's easier with Workbench HD.

Is there a way to have models bypass FX effects?
psarkissian replied to spiderdudley's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
"... have there been rom updates for these amps?"--- No. There is Spider IV Edit, and Flash. Check the Downloads section what's available,... http://line6.com/software/index.html ... and follow the prompts. -
If it's not impedance mismatch, then the other possibility is that it might be damaged. Or the switch on the speaker cabinet is failing. Log a support ticket, it should troubleshooted by an authorized Line 6 service tech who knows the product.

JTV89F Floyd Rose problem
psarkissian replied to Leftzilla's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
The collar on the bridge where the Tremolo Arm mounts? Or the fitting on the Tremolo Arm the screws onto the mount? -
Don't do that. Never mismatch impedances,... especially with a valve amp, they are not forgiving of impedance mismatches. Run 16-Ohm load to a 16-Ohm amp output, 8-Ohm load to 8-Ohm amp output. 8-Ohm out to a 16-Ohm load will attenuate or result in barely audible signal (if any).

HD100 MkII? Which output on the amp is it plugged into?

700 Bricked During Firmware Update?
psarkissian replied to roger111's topic in Variax Guitars / Bass / Workbench
"... wonder if the acoustic 700 brain would load into the electric?"--- No, it won't. That too would brick it. Yes ibowze,... using the interface device is the best bet. -

Which Spider IV amp? -
Kevin Cadogan of Third Eye Blind, Trevor Rabin of Yes (et al), Shawn Phillips, Ted Leonard of Spock's Beard, David Freiberg of Starship, Robert Sarzo of Queensryche, Carlos Rios (Chick Corea and Stevie Nicks), Oz Noy, Stevic McKay of Twelve Foot Ninja, and others,... I know they are all Variax users, because I've had the pleasure of servicing their guitars. There are some photos on the web of James Taylor with a 900 Acoustic. My lab mate got to service that one,... and probably that electric in the photo here, since he does most the early Variax guitars.
