  1. Best to take it to a Line 6 authorized service center, with someone experienced with this guitar.
  2. You do have a speaker plugged into the correct output for the speaker load?
  3. Position of pick-up height to strings or a solder point in the toggle assembly. Contact Line 6 Support regarding problems registering your guitar. https://line6.com/find/service_center/ for authorized service centers in your area.
  4. Each Model will sound different according to the guitar it was modeled from, including any quirks associated with that model of guitar. Changing toggle positions will change the sound, check the Model Gallery in the manual for that. Set-up can play a part in it as well, you may want to have that checked and dialed-in if needed. Matte ne.
  5. The way the neck sits in the neck pocket of the 69, and how the bridge orients to it, verses the on-the-deck mounting of the Standard bridge, the slight difference in strings spread, make it a bad idea. The two mounting cavities would leave you with a problem of clearance for good tremolo use. The way the cable mounts from bridge to main board would complicate that even more. Unless you have a lot of experience working on these two guitar, it would be ill advise. Also,... mods like that would be an unsupported modification. So if this ended up on my bench, chances are I would have to return it untouched.
  6. Full Compass sells Variax parts, including present generation jack plates. Some items may be out stock at this time. But there is product in the pipeline. There are minor differences in the fit, as the curve of the plates will be different to conform to the curve of the different bodies. The cable harness and chassis ground wire are different lengths for each model as well. Part# 50-04-0126 jack plate assembly.
  7. First use Workbench HD to save any models to your computer that you would want to keep. If you reset to the factory preset models, you would use Monkey to re-Flash the firmware. Follow the prompts in Monkey to do that.
  8. Thanks. You're catching me while I'm at work. After work,... it's hit or miss if I'm at the coffee shop WiFi.
  9. Extinct? No. Like everything else, CoVid related supply chain bottle necks. Don't do any modifications, it just creates more problems for you.
  10. Whistling and howling is typically the set-up needs to be dialed in,... intonation, action, being on the verge of fret buzz, wearing of the nut slots. See my prior posts here.
  11. https://line6.com/find/service_center/ For any service centers in your area.
  12. DO NOT use those. Have had nothing but problems with those. Your timing is good, had a JTV come in today, guitar was fine, the battery failed. And it was one those. Use the actual Line 6 battery, or you're taking a risk with your Variax.
  13. Floor effects board products with a VDI connector. Preferably a still support one. I still use a POD X3 Live at my repair bench for checking and testing old and new Variax guitars.
  14. Out of stock, hung up in all this CoVid related supply chain bottleneck stuff. Like I always say, "Rumors are like rainbows and unicorns, they look pretty, but you can't touch them because they aren't real."
  15. It's a safety regulator circuitry common in the safer legitimate Li-Ion batteries. Ours geared for our product, and prevents the inconsistency of knock-offs from being problem,... which they are. Thankfully keeps fewer Variaxes from showing up on my repair bench for such reasons.
  16. TRS engages the battery, TS can dribble away charge if what would be the ring, is not there to isolate +Vdc from the ground/return pin. Most all, if not all of our amps use TRS on the input to accommodate either one. TRS has become something of a de-facto standard for guitars with active powered circuitry since (at least) the mid 1970's (when I was doing guitar mod's with active, mostly battery powered) circuitry.
  17. Make certain there are no USB hubs connected. And what brue58ski said.
  18. Something I prepped for the Admin for the Knowledge Base for cleaning pots, switches and piezos,... Use cotton swabs, don't spray, just gunks things up.
  19. Because they are not compatible. Return them. Two contacts on them??? Do Not use 3rd party or knock-offs, they are nothing but problems. They might say they are compatible, but they are not, don't use them. Use only the Line 6 version.
  20. Check application release and compatible computer OS in the Downloads page.
