  1. Either pick-up height adjustment or a short somewhere pulling down the line. Break any strings lately?
  2. Add to that the slow down the US/China Tariff tiff. The normal flow is returning. Don't know how up to speed it is yet in each region.
  3. " It's for a Variax 700. It came without the usb interface, but i do have a pod x3 (NOT the x3 live though, just the PodX3). So will that work as an VDI interface so I dont have to worry about finding the damn usb interface now? "--- No. can't do that with the POD Beans like the POD X3, only the Lives. The mod connector on the X3 would have "FBV Pedal" marked on it. Don't use that for anything other than an FBV Pedal. Use original Workbench, that is used for original Variax 300, 500, 600 and 700 (acoustic and electric) series guitars. HD series is for JTV, Standard and Shurikens guitars.
  4. Your Standard showing up as a JTV,... did you get this guitar second hand (used)???
  5. MIDI timeout error. Check my posting on this on the Variax FB page. Put the fully charged battery in the guitar, plug in a TRS 1/4" headphone adapter to engage the battery. Check to see that both LED's on the interface device are lit "green". You are ready to proceed with Monkey.
  6. Guitar interface will only work for Live POD or directly to the computer. The mod connector on the POD Beans are for FBV controllers only. They are not guitar connections. XT Live, X3 Live, yes, using the VDI connector. XT and X3 Beans, no! Don't do that.
  7. " I/O configuration in the edit or set-up page in the Helix would be a place to start. "--- I suggested earlier. Yes, also check the Force/Don't Force,... very good. Yes, double check initial conditions and presets.
  8. Make date is early 2019. And more than likely with the Macassar ebony. And they are still in production. Finished and passed factory January 2019 (W1901xxxx), arrival Yamaha Australia would be that September date of this year, 2019. "Is it possible it was not made in Jan this year as you suggest? "--- No,... I'm the guy at Line 6 HQ that does service and repair on these. My supervisor and I track this stuff for QA.
  9. TRS tip 1/4" out of the guitar is better. To turn on-and-off, push down on the Model knob to go between Models and mags. Leaving the battery in is fine. Good,... never run VDI and 1/4" simultaneously when playing.
  10. Try rolling back the Firmware to v1.04 program, see if that fixes it. If that doesn't do it,... https://line6.com/find/service_center/ ... for the Line 6 authorized service center (Madrid, Granada or Barcelona). It's might be a failed IC on the program board or the amp board. Needs to be gone over by a technician who knows the product.
  11. Very good. I use a mix of linear and metric tools here myself when work on Variaxes.
  12. JTV, Standard and Shuriken are still available. " Or is that just something on the Thomann side of things and the guitars are made and sold as usual? "--- no, there was a snag in shipping. It's all cleared up now. Just a matter of getting caught up on back orders and such. If you want to know what out there, if it's on the Line 6 website, then it's still out there.
  13. If it is a second hand used guitar, it is possible the hex wrench kit might not be in it. And 4mm is for the truss rod adjust.
  14. We've been using ebony since about 2018. The 2019's are also ebony. We using one of two types, Macassar is one of them.
  15. "PRO CAT5E" cable with the shroud,... good, that's the correct one. Helix,... each FX module has its in/out gain, it's a matter of keeping control of them.
