Either the jack or the cable plug, or both.

Mike Matthews (of EH) still owns the company (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sovtek) that owns the Sovtek tube factory, last I talked to him.

helix DT amps won't respond to Helix floorboard (Midi/L6 link)
psarkissian replied to exquosum's topic in DT50 / DT25
Sometimes it doesn't, even at short lengths there can be glitches, especially if you are going for multiple levels of upright and floor monitor configurations (cascaded stages). And mic cable pin-outs aren't always correct which can short something out. -

I await to receive it. -
Variax Guitars are no longer available in Germany
psarkissian replied to JochenKopp's topic in Shuriken
Making certain of compliance requirements for import/export, as there were some recent updates in the EU to deal with, trade and tariff with import/export politics, all creating a bottleneck in the flow slowing things up. It's letting up, it's flowing again, now doing catch-up. That's as much as I know so far. I guess I'm the pearl, such as it is. -
Variax JTV-59 tuning selector knob
psarkissian replied to cbeattyjr's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Boilerplate? No. Support guys are across the hall from me. They know what the locals are capable of verses what I do. In your case, it needs to come to me. Wish it something the locals could deal with, would be easier for you. -
Log a Support Ticket. It may be just a set-up issue, but it should be checked out.

Variax JTV-59 tuning selector knob
psarkissian replied to cbeattyjr's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Check the listing under the guitar heading,... Triv's does general service repairs, didn't come up under the guitar heading. " Should I try the (relatively) local guy? "--- if it's just a glitch, yes. If the whole encoder is loose, then I'm the only game in town, it's a special thing that only a few of us do. A procedure I came up with to deal with it. Log a support ticket. If it's a loose bracket underneath, then I'm it. -
Cannot overwrite Standard and Baritone positions on tuning knob
psarkissian replied to bozodadethmachn's topic in Shuriken
I know there were a couple of selections that were fixed and can't be changed,... " You can replace all but the MODEL and STANDARD setting on the Alternate Tuning knob with your very own creations." page-12 in the manual. I get that Model is fixed, it's a model of itself. Both Model and Standard are fixed reference tunings. I can understand that Standard tuning is fixed,... Baritone, that's odd. -
Don't know if it's the reason, but an intermittent chassis ground wouldn't help.
-
Two 9-Volts might be too much. Would need to know more on how the circuit is implemented. In the meantime, it should be checked out by a Line 6 authorized service center who knows the product to check that. Looks like chassis ground issue. https://line6.com/find/service_center/ Or Mark Wright Music in Northampton,... he used to be a repair tech at Line 6 Rugby when we had a location there.

Dead Piezo Pickup?
psarkissian replied to the29band's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
paulsmit365, I see the Standard you mentioned on your list, I don't see an 89F. Totally different bridge and saddle. None of the Graphtech saddles in those links have piezos, they won't work. Need piezos for the modelling to function. Doing this yourself is ill advised. Go with a Line 6 authorized service center near you that knows the product. https://line6.com/find/service_center/ -

I'll have to check on that. -
Cannot overwrite Standard and Baritone positions on tuning knob
psarkissian replied to bozodadethmachn's topic in Shuriken
Very good. Some of the early ones didn't have the bundle when it came out. A little late getting it to the factory. So it was accessed through the link. Then I spotted a problem with how it was displayed in Workbench HD, and so Flash v2.22 was updated to v2.23, so it would display correctly. Sound like you're up and running again. Standard and Baritone,... hmmm. -
Cannot overwrite Standard and Baritone positions on tuning knob

You don't have the Shuriken Bundle loaded. Go to my prior posting on that. Use the interface device accessory to connect to the computer directly for downloading that. -
Fizzy tone Spider Valve 1 100w head? Tubes?
psarkissian replied to indyj_son's topic in Spider Valve
Yes. And pre-amp tubes don't have to be matched, only the power tubes do. But matched pre-amp tubes are just fine. The Sovtek "LPS" are low microphonic, so that's fine. -

Fizzy tone Spider Valve 1 100w head? Tubes?
psarkissian replied to indyj_son's topic in Spider Valve
Yes, the quad set, they have to be a matched set. The analog and digital sections have to talk nice to one another, so the specified power tubes must be used, and have to be Also the specified pre-amp tubes are a good idea. Love the other afore mentioned tubes,... just not in this amp. Have this work done by a Line 6 authorized service center who knows the product. These are not all analog tube amp like in the 1960's and 70's, and have to be treated a little different. -
Fizzy tone Spider Valve 1 100w head? Tubes?
psarkissian replied to indyj_son's topic in Spider Valve
From the tube post,... Tube choices to use,... Spider Valve: 12AX7B China for pre-amps. 5881WXT Sovtek (matched pair), with the base cup bottom. 5881WXT Sovtek (matched quartet), with the base cup bottom for the HD-100 and HD100 MkII. Low microphonic 12AX7EH for the pre-amp is fine. Power amp tube choices are crucial, and must be properly biased by a tech or Line 6 authorized service center who knows the product. Don't do this yourself, the shock hazard is too great,... and it hurts when you get electric shock. Leave it to a tech trained who is for this. These valve amps are particular about tubes and tube brands. Do Not use substitutes, No Mesa, Groove Tube, Tung-Sol, Ruby's or JJ substitutes. No hot rodding of an already Bogner hot rod. -

Fizzy tone Spider Valve 1 100w head? Tubes?
psarkissian replied to indyj_son's topic in Spider Valve
Either the tubes need replacing or the the main board needs to be serviced. Either way, it will need to be serviced by a Line 6 authorized service center. Use only the specified tubes and bias. These are not all analog tube amp like in the 1960's and 70's. -
JTV89F selection switch
psarkissian replied to malriley's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Flash it again. make certain the LED's on the interface device are green throughout the entire update cycle. If it starts blinking red near the end of the cycle, wait for it to finish, unplug, plug in again to reinitialize,... then Flash it again.
